I still think theres a huge problem with head hitboxes and spamming, everyone in this thread seems to think its ok, but i think its bullshit, the amount of lucky shots and pure spamming that results in 1 shot your dead from miles away is ridiculous, Sorry, i should be able to burst someone down before they can spray me down at mid-long range, its called fucking accuracy xD once in a while is fine, but every damn time is just silly to die in 2 seconds from someone spamming half a map away.
Also the ragdoll physics are fucked up, the slightest touch on a gun will send it flying miles away. (I watched someone shoot an M4 at spawn with a pistol and it flew up in the air and didnt come back, xD) and it effects grenades sometimes too, they hit certain objects and "bounce" away. Also object hitboxes seem to be off, or the grenades hitbox, one of the two, sometimes you'll throw a grenade through a gap it should be able to get through, only for it to bounce off the wall and come back at you, resulting in suicide. xD
When that doesnt happen, the game is wonderful though! :D
CAL-O = amatuer and probably a hacker CAL-M = "up and coming pro"* CAL-I = semi-pro CPL = pro Main wasn't too difficult to get into if you had a competent team, and a lot of people in main considered themselves semi-pro (they weren't) which is where a lot of this is coming from, I think. I very much doubt everyone in the thread was CAL-I. *one of the dumbest phrases ever, but not much else applies here
Mmm I wouldn't use the words CAL anymore when defining competitive play. I mean I used to play in CAL too way back then but things have changed A LOT and the top players nowadays are significantly better. Plus some of the stars of CPL and CAL-I who still play competitively in ESEA are sadly washed up =(. It's basically like watching FruitDealer play SC2 now.
If someone is reminiscing the days when they competed in CAL and trying to apply their subtle competitive elitism then it's just full of baloney unless of course they're still playing a lot on ESEA or ESL.
I was considering grabbing ESEA too but then I realized GW2 was coming out next week >.< (so many games!) I mean I understand that people are new to the game, but if you couple that together with the attitude of a 6 year old its very annoying. But for of you who are really considering to invest your time in to CS:GO, get ESEA and pug. It's more frustrating to deal with a whiny kid who runs around in scope with a scout then some guy yelling at you because you're bad. Gotta get owned before you get better.

Haha, that guy mentioned TF2 for competitive FPS. I have a free week of ESEA premium, if you want it, PM me. Preferably someone who will use it.
I strongly advocate getting ESEA, as pubbing to me, has been incredibly boring unless you're drunk or playing with friends. If anyone here uses ESEA, add me! http://play.esea.net/users/442077 And as Snuggles said, you're going to deal with bad personalities and negativity everywhere, might as well be from people who are better than you (if you're competitive, that is) so you can improve yourself. ^^

Does anyone have a server us TLers can use ? I Don't want to joining pubbies for the rest of my life D:

Try Deathmatching then, at the very least you can refine specific weapons/aim patterns:
west coast: 64.94.101.58:27015 central: 96.8.114.234:27015

Does anyone know of a (single) source regarding which of the old school, elite 1.6 teams/players are coming back? Like a compiled list of announcements from various teams? Would love to see the old CPL caliber players come back into this scene (a lot of them are probably "too old" or totally out of gaming). I'm thinking teams like:
3d, col, nip, sk, fnatic, mibr, noa, eye, pgs, mym, mouz, eg, t9, m5, 4k, zex, x6, u5, lh, aaa, tsg, tec (a lot of crossover between players on these teams, especially the EU ones, I know)

HLTV.org has announced a couple. Mouz and NiP have switched over. I'm sure they'll update a lot more.

The new NiP team, much like the previous one has been born from the bits of SK. There currently is no SK team, but both Forrest and GetRight play on the new NiP, can't wait to see them in action tbh.

are there any new news about the sound? its impossible to localize the footsteps.

Thats not really true. Directional sound works great, just not distance.

The reg is terrible in cs go. The problem i feel lies in shooting more then one bullet a time. It just doesn't register at all.

I've been in servers with 20 ping and it's ignored lots of my shots.

If your FPS is lower than your cl_cmdrate is higher than your current frames per second then it can cause bullets to go through people. A lot of people probably haven't upgraded their computer since Source/1.6 which might lead to a lot of registration complaints.
