I don't agree with this at all. It's not just "D2 with more options." The skill system is completely different along with the skill tree AND currency.
These sound like minor changes, but in this game, those 3 changes actually make a huge deal imo. I've probably played every hack'n'slash out there, and I loved D2 to death (got several druids to the high 70's), and played D3, TL2, among others.. If you're burned out on the genre, this might re-kindle your fire, but don't expect it to. I would definitely say give it a try if you were a fan of D2 at any point in your life because I think you'll like the feel of a few things, and appreciate the improvements of a lot of others.

A scour and a gem only reduces it by 1 level, not to level 1.

Whoa, I didn't know about the ctrl+c on item :D thats awesome! Above is my 5L ES chest I bought today starting normal. I did 1 alchemy then 1 chaos and rolled that which was pretty nice. I did about 120 chromatics before it got 2 blue for freezing pulse + itemrarity (will be switched out with faster casting), 2 green for LMP + Cold penetration, 1 red for item quantity (which will be switch out for life leech)
EDIT: Bought the normal armor for 1 exalt + chaos

The hard part is actually getting someone to sell you the darned chest. The only decent ilvl60+ ones I've seen all have Evasion or ES in them which is pretty worthless to me.

I think on Mercy, Fellshire Ruins is really good place to level when you are 60+. It's a really low threat area and only thing you have to look out for are the buffed up rock guys since their rolls + 1-2 hits can easily take out 2k ES
Also, A LOT of chests to open. Got myself a regal and a chaos orb from them just now :D
Anywhere else better to farm?

Docks can drop maps and the ilvl+exp is a bit higher. Feels about as safe as fellshrine except if you get a particularly nasty set of affixes on a voidbringer.
