Not sure how shit goes down in peru, but in most other places, a two footed tackle, when he's in the air, meaning he has no control, is a red card. But, most refs in England doesn't really give red cards for that, even if they should

Clean only by luck. Studs up, two feet, it's dangerous, stupid and it's a booking to be sure. Technically I can see that a red can be given for it.
However, at 12 minutes into the game and when the tackle DID come through cleanly, you give a yellow for it and no one, NO ONE is going to complain that it should have been red, and you still have a game on.

united could barely see out a game against a 10 man city lol, scholes? rofl he is so shit, made a name from 10 yard passes please Zinedine Zidane on Scholes: “He’s almost untouchable in what he does. I never tire of watching him play. You rarely come across the complete footballer, but Scholes is as close to it as you can get.
“One of my regrets is that the opportunity to play alongside him never presented itself during my career.” Think I'm going to take his opinion over some kid who most likely started supporting city around the same time they started buying whoever they wanted with their botomless pit of money. Zidane is pretty dumb if he really thinks that, Scholes is ok don't get me wrong but there is a reason why England have never won anything, they have never embraced a genius like a Zidane, England had one in Le Tessier but picked players like scholes over him and won nothing, anyone can sit in the middle of the park and play 5 yard passes all day in the united team and win trophies, as for the City comment, I don't support City and as for the money thing lol, United and every successful team have always "bought" their team/success it is just the way football is get over it united fanboy You sir, happen to be wrong, Scholes has proven time and time again that he is a world class footballer. Not only is he unmatched in passing skills, but he also has one of the best right foots in the world when it comes to shooting. And as for United buying success, think again, Their 99 team had players that they brought up in their own academy. City however sold their only partial homegrown player, Stephen Ireland. They have almost no players, and no1 that is near the first team, that has stepped foot inside the academy of Man City. Scholes WAS very good, but I will still never like him because of, to quote the Guardian, his 'souvenir' tackles. Obviously he is not world class anymore, he is 37 he only played because he decided to help United out anyway
Yes but honestly, is he going to help? He was partially responsible for Aguero's goal, he said himself when he 'retired' that his 'legs [had] gone'. Ferguson might think Scholes has something more to give to this team but I frankly do not.

By the letter of they law, its a red. But its also the reason people think soccer has become a soft sport because he got the ball, and no one even appealed except rooney. Nani didn't even go down like he usually does clutching his leg. So about 10/15 years ago its a clean good tackle, today its not.
It's one of those where he gives it, and you know its harsh but you can't argue it. If he never gave it, I don't think anyone would have even noticed it.

ronaldo was nobody when united bought him, and united spent 4-5 yrs to make him one of the best player in the world. same can be said for rooney...etc. they had potential, but not already established quality players when united bought them. sure all teams eventually "buy" their success, but teams like united/arsenal/liverpool hv a balanced way of doing it, unlike city, they just look at the top players' list off of football manager and try to buy as many as they can.
As for the group of beckham, scholes, giggs, neville brothers. could u please explain why most of them were/are overrated? and please dont make the argument of international play blah blah blah, if thats the case then players like messi would be heavily overrated wouldnt u say?

Ouch Cristian Alverez's slip as he was trying to clear the ball...

Right so Argentina that did awful in the world cup paired with Portugal, so that means that Ronaldo and messi are much worse than zidane by that logic? Not to mention scholes retired from international football early in his career.
And you put "top" in inverted commas as its debatable, Henry said "Without any doubt the best player in the Premiership has to be Scholes... He knows how to do everything.", sir bobby said "Paul is always so in control and pin-point accurate with his passing — a beautiful player to watch", Alan Hansen, not the best player ever but a very well respected pundit, said "one of the top three to five players to have ever played in the Premier League". Xavi rates him kinda well too: "A role model. For me, and I really mean this, he's the best central midfielder I've seen in the last 15, 20 years. He's spectacular, he has it all, the last pass, goals, he's strong, he doesn't lose the ball, vision. If he'd been Spanish he might have been rated more highly. Players love him.". But even if the idea that some of the best players in the world ive mentioned are talking out of there arse and over-rate him, what about coaches? well next to fergie you dont get much bigger than Pep himself, who said of scholes: "Out of everyone at Manchester United, I would pick out Scholes – he is the best midfielder of his generation,". Im sorry but there no doubt he was a VERY good player.

This is an outrage!! That Espanol defender practically prevented the goal with his hand and the referee doesn't give penalty?! WHAT

Unless you wanna say Casilla got a penalty for time wasting...

Oh dear oh dear oh dear.. Another away 'loss' for Barcelona. It just keeps getting worse. Messi was horrible, Xavi was horrible and the defence was very shaky. The only plus sides on this match were Iniesta coming back and being pretty good, although he should've hammered that last shot in, and Pedro being super sharp and awesome after being terrible for months.
|
come on that game was stolen from barca, how do you not see that penalty
|
Was sad ( But Barca did not play good in 2nd half. Hm , its 5 points from R.Madrid now, and i dont see them loosing to anyone but Barça at Camp Nou, and even that will be difficult, lets hope for the best, all the barça ofc. ^_^

It was probably a yellow and United did get a break, entertaining game though.

Could have been more so

QPR fired Warnock? I know they're only one point clear of the relegation zone, but that just seems a little... iffy to me.

FIFA Ballon d'Or Winner is Messi just as expected :D

I doubt that there are a lot of coaches who actually need to teach the players anything, I don't think ronaldo and messi need anyone to teach them football, the coaches are more there to to build the team and get them prepared mentally and physically but not technically. Take for example van gaal, good coach but he was an average player I don't think he knows more about football than the players he coached. My point is that coaches don't have more knowledge about football than players and that players know how to judge other players atleast as good as choaches if not better.

Henry stepping on the field brought a tear to my eye.
|
henry, such a legend, goosebumps
|
Henry scoring the only goal in that game was insanely perfect and dramatic!!! As much as the Denver Broncos beating the Pittsburgh Steelers last night!
Can't believe those idiots at QPR sacked Warnock after he got them out of the championship, put together a good team and was going to make it awesome with the january transfers
