Bertrand " ElkY" Grospellier won his first World Series of Poker Bracelet in Event #21: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship after defeating Steve Landfish in a prolonged heads up battle. ElkY was running hot throughout the event, but he ran into major trouble during heads up play. After falling to approximately 200,000 chips vs. his opponent's 3,500,000 [Edit: ElkY says it was more like 150,000 chips during his interview with PokerNews, which you can find in the link below; he also tries to convince the female interviewer to go out partying with him tomorrow at the end lol], he knew that he would have a daunting task at hand. However, ElkY kept his composure, eventually fought back over the course of several hours, and took it down.
He cashed for an impressive $331,639, which pales in comparison to his famous WPT payday, but this is his first victory at the WSOP and taking down a 10k championship in any form of poker is a great accolade for any player. Also, 7 card stud is not his most proficient game, making the achievement even more noteworthy. Edit: His first stud tournament ever, loldonkaments
PokerNews: The win gives ElkY the triple crown to go along with his ‘08 WPT Championship win for $1,411,015 and his PCA win for $2,000,000 earlier that year. He is this WSOP’s second triple crown winner after Jake Cody and the fourth winner overall.

WOW grats that's a massive comeback
Wait holy crap Elky is the Bertrand Grospellier 0_0. I dunno how I never made the connection before.
What's sick is that he's the 25th most successful tournament poker player ever in terms of prize money now, ahead of many famous names anyone who watches TV poker would know.
Awesome, let's hope in invests some of that money in eSports
his opponent actually folded on a 1bb bet on 4th street when elky was down to 200k, well played sir.. As ElkY likes to say "this is siiiick" glad to see him finally grab his first WSOP Bracelet, now u conquered poker comme back and conquer SC2 :D
elky so sick LOL oh my god
someone has to ask him if he still plays starcraft
He played one BO3 for the EGG-One tournament in France a few months ago, and he made an interview with them where he said that he did some ladder, but that poker was his main activity and that even though he likes gaming, he will not leave poker now. However he lost that BO3, and has never appeared in any competition since.
But seeing how successful he is in poker, I won't blame him for his choice!
Edit : the link to the interview that I am talking about (French)

my god, thats an impressive comeback, wonder what the other guys is feeling like losing that much of an advantage!! Well Done ElkY!!!!

Considering he's one of the most consistent tournament players, I must say it's about time that he got one! Way to go Bertrand!

Yes, please! I know that Jason Somerville, another poker pro and surprisingly, Event #20 winner($493,091), is already investing in the new Six Pool Gaming organization. The more, the merrier!
I was watching the live stream during the final table and I still cannot believe that ElkY made that comeback. He was soooo short-stacked and he never even had to go all-in until he gathered a lot more chips. I don't play stud, but I have a hard time believing that his opponent couldn't put more pressure on during that time. As his name says, I think he was kind of a "fish" lol

Not sure if anyone has pointed this out yet, but the CEO of Six Pool Gaming also won a Bracelet for no-limit hold'em.

Nice Elky! Maybe once he's rich enough, and money isn't an issue any longer, he'll return to pro gaming?

Fuck yeah ElkY. :D Great to see ElkY getting ahead.

Congratulations to ElkY Nice to see him constantly winning more things in poker.
I think a former professional Counter Strike player just won 100k in the swedish poker championship or something ... gamers doing big things in poker.

Elky such a beast, I watched a good portion of this, congrats to him!
grats elky its about time you're the man

So TOTStrafe got 2nd, the CEO of sixpoolgaming won the NLHE and Elky won this lol, good day eh
Elky runs hotter than the sun.
Seems like bw creates a lot of good poker players... Craig Marquis was a guy i grew up playing bw with and one day i learned he won $970,000 making it to the final table of 2010 WSOP. He sucked at bw though.

It must suck so much to have that big of a chip lead in the final heads-up and then end up losing.
