I tried the beta and I liked it. However, D2 has a special place in my heart and I will probably return to it in the future, like every 3 years as I've done now.

![]() Now I'm planning on playing a trapper since she seems far safer. Just need to get the motivation to restart a character.

Iunno about that, I for one don't really like how they do skills in that game. It's just not my thing I want them to be separate. I can respect what they are trying to accomplish with it though but for an "updated D2 experience" I'd rather play Torchlight II with Synergies Mod. That said, as someone else mentioned I've been playing off and on every few years, why not just for a change of scenery. My current chars are lvl 93, 91, 88, 87, 64, and a shambling of mid/low chars. I've also got 2 accounts worth of mules. I've just kinda invested a lot of time that I don't care if it goes to waste, but I at least try to preserve to stay true to my gaming history.

The saddest thing though is that despite the access to high end items and characters, nobody I knew shared the same desire as me to simply just start the game from scratch and try to beat it. I enjoyed finding and using whatever items were available, rather than simply purchase using FG. I tried playing sp a few months back and got my character to nm act 4 /players 8 all the way. But I kinda got bored because I had to play it alone. Although I knew all the little tricks to get your gears (topaz helm/armour, gambling boots/gloves at certain levels etc), it is just not satisfying enough to do it alone. Would be more fun if I had a party in which we could share loots and properly equip each other, rather than storing a good but not suitable item on atma mule. If only I knew people that shared my liking for untwinked.

I can't remember all the untwinked tricks, but basically find/pray for chipped topaz and get/shop for 2 sock helmet/armour asap. You don't need anything from your equipment in normal so just stack MF. I generally dislike skele nec because of how badly they perform in the harder difficulties. But for normal or should be a breeze.

Now I'm unsure where to put the skill points. My dps is fairly low, especially on the bosses, even though I had no problem with Diablo/Baal on NM. I gave up on killing Griswold on Hell (phys immune, stone skin, cursed, lightning enhanced) cause it took too long and my skellies eventually dies due to the lightning. I'm thinking putting my points in either Poison Nova or Bone Spirit to boost that dps on bosses (and as a mana sink, Insight is giving me unlimited mana). Alternative is to put more into Skeleton Mages or Revive (have 6 atm from items). Any suggestions? My goal is just to beat Baal on Hell.

Be sure to have at least one point in some curses (amp damage, Iron Maiden, lower resist). I really wouldn't put anything into Poison/Bone spells they won't really help you. I could be wrong about that though. Someone else may be able to give you more input soon.

My goal is just to beat Baal on Hell. max corpse explosion (it won't help on bosses but its invaluable for quickly killing stuff), then some points into summon resist / golem mastery imo if you haven't put at least one point into the curses you definitely want to do that. Decrepify + clay golem incapacitates bosses pretty effectively without the synergies I imagine bone spells will be pretty weak at this point
