oh, like use a program to view the map ahead of time?
I will be making the map from scratch right before we're ready to go, I will be adding a furnace, anvil and workbench from another character. I think most of the TL community wouldn't try to abuse the premise and use a map viewer.

I don't think it's possible to use a map viewer on a map over a server, because I'm pretty sure you never have the whole map sent to your client anyway.

Don't forget that you need atleast a demonite pick to be able to mine hell now, and obsidian skull to be able to stand on the hellstone, and then a bunch of more obsidian to smelt the hellstone in hell (and iirc, it was quite challenging to survive all the imps and bone worms with next to no armor).
With some luck, it might be possible, but I think it's highely improbable to do in 30 minutes.

yeah shadow pearls is your best bet for getting items. or getting a ton of shuri's and then summoning eater of worlds and killing it. >.>

You know, I was thinking that having PVP fully enabled during the 30 minute gathering period would be awesome, and add to the competitiveness of things. Sure, you might end up being killed a few times and returned to spawn, which might seem like a waste of time, but at the same time, YOU're fully able to kill the players going for your gold node or that heart crystal you so want!
The effect would of course be that getting quality metals would be more difficult, and that one could not cooperate with another to powerdig to hell and such. I feel this would help maintain the low-tech goal of the 30minute limit, while also making the 30 minutes far more action-packed.
Hopefully, at least.

So evidently I'm unable to convert the bloody time to EST. I believe the time difference is 3 hours, and I'm pretty sure the West Coast is 3 hours behind the East Coast, so it'd be 11AM, yes?

I just woke up, 40 minutes later than I was supposed to put up the server. I'm putting the server up right now. We'll see if we can aim for 07:00 KST now.(the clock is top right of the TL website)
If 07:00 fails, We'll just go with the original 11:00 time; I sent out a lot of PMs to people with the 11:00 time

I'll be on for most of the day. It was supposed to start 40 minutes ago, but im late getting on. I sent out a message to a few people that said 11:00 KST, then changed it to 06:00 KST. So i'll try to be on for both times.

I just fail to see what you can possibly do in 30 mins with a copper pickaxe. I could be wrong though it does sound like fun. You should specify a time, I'm not sure if I can join in on the time you're planning this. If you know how to search sky islands, you can get your tons of silver & gold & bonus items from chest and be ready to kick butt.

So evidently I can't join your server. For some reason it downloads tiles until it hits some random number (it's been 4, 64 and 86 the times I've tried) and so I can never actually join. Kinda sucks -_-

Hmmm... This is interesting... In my opinion thi s should have a "from the start" mode (start with nothing and pvp would be after a given amount of time has elapsed) and a "full items mode"
