First Mike Brown, and now Spoelstra. Lebron seems like he'd be infinitely versatile on offense, but he's not displaying it. Coach K did a pretty good job with him on Team USA in terms of allowing Lebron to play multiple roles on offense, so it's definitely possible to play him that way. A bit mind-boggling... It is because Lebron is this strange commodity that doesn't fit into a traditional team. He's a 1234, except he lacks a strong low post game. Now there are a lot of stats that say he has a good low post game when he uses it, but from watching the games you see this is a red herring. He is very efficient in the post because he goes there primarily when he has a mismatch (you'll notice he tried to go down when Kyle Korver was guarding him last night). Technically the best thing to do with Lebron is pair him with a good pick n roll guy, a defensive center, and shooters. The argument that the Cavs never put a good team around Lebron because they sucked this year never made sense to me because I always assumed they were built around the premise of exactly that. Really, all they needed was to get Carlos Boozer in free agency this year and (if Verajao stays healthy) they would have been a great team and a great fit for Lebron. Lebron isn't technically a ball-stopper, but the ball needs to be in his hands a lot. Plus he is a bad shooter when the shot is even mildly contested. His shooting, if you take away open looks, is worse than Rose's (better than Rondo of course), but it is certainly not good for a team game.

No. He can't. He gets obliterated. He can only do it for small periods of time.

HE CAN PLAY THE 4! No. He can't. He gets obliterated. He can only do it for small periods of time. I disagree, he's got a power forwards body, basically. That's 6'8'' and 260? I think he's about the same size as David West/Carlos Boozer. His strength+ball handling skills should translate into a plus post game, it just doesn't/hasn't. Obviously, he isn't really suited to play Power Forward against Lamarcus Aldridge or Chris Bosh but later in his career, I can see him transitioning to the 4. As a side note, if Lebron didn't have his athleticism or ball handling, he'd be a dreaded "tweener." Which, I realize, is a stupid thing to say but still...

that tweener label is scary though. Really unless you can shoot or have top tier playmaking ability and a team that will let you, might as well get ready to sit on the bench.

This game is painful to watch as almost everytime the have used replay it has shown a blown call somewhere... 3rd time wrong team got called for the tip out in a quarter and a half. I understand the lack of calls on a lot of stuff but there has been multiple intentional fouls not called, 3 counted phantom calls and 3 wrong out of bounds calls which is working out to a large ref mistake every other minute. I really hope ref crew changes as the announcers are calling it better at this point.

Eh, on the play Chandler fouled, someone bloodied Marion's nose and no call. Terry's called foul on Durant's sweep move should have been no call. Refs have been fair (if imperfect) so far.
