Glad you recognized that. I'm not partial to either team, just my observation. To be fair, Chicago feels vindicated every time the Heat lose to the Bulls because the "Big 3" free agency farce was such a huge diss to the city and the team (the perception is more important than whatever the reality might be in this case). Also let me be the first to take credit for being right (about pretty much everything ) so far in the series: Thibodeau solved the painfully simple Heat offense (those defensive schemes were beautiful), Rose's scoring canceled Bosh (who led the Heat in scoring this game; I expected it to be mostly a Wade show so I was only half-right here). The other thing I was wrong about is I thought Lebron would outplay Deng, but it turned out completely opposite from that (though I highly doubt that will be the case for the whole series).Rose had some ugly turnovers this game though and I was mostly disappointed with some of the jumpers he settled for. He took far too many "heat checks" that let Miami wind up with easy buckets in transition. That being said the rest of the Bulls played superbly and showed that even when Rose isn't allowed to work the full extent of his D-rose magic (Wade and Anthony did a really good job of defending him), team basketball blows the three stooges out by 21 points. Also we missed some easy buckets on fouls that should have been and-1's instead of 2 freebies. That missed technical by the refs had everyone growling but then when they gave us that clear path on Brewer later (from the angles I saw I think it should have been just a regular foul, but it was close) that was a nice break. I'm going to be watching game 2 from the 3rd row so I'm definitely looking forward to that even more after this game I still think Bulls in 6, since the potential dominant games from Wade and James are still in play. Also this was probably the most exciting, most compelling game of the season/playoffs so far (at least I felt that way). Taking a tie into halftime helped build some mega suspense for the 2nd half the whole bar was going nuts the whole game. Also who else (probably only Bulls fans) enjoyed the possessions where Asik wound up defending LeBron 1-on-1 and did a great job of it (it happened twice in the 4th quarter iirc)? He has come so far this season from the confused-looking string bean we saw in October.

The Bulls have built up momentum for the first time in the playoffs. They are looking dangerous. The Heat are just going to exhaust their big 3, nobody else seems capable of doing anything. The Bulls are a real team, with role/bench players and everything; they can all rely and support each other, and have people to fall back on if somebody has a bad game. Team > 3 guys. If the Heat are going to win this series, it's gonna be touughhhhhhh.

Didn't help that LBJ played badly (or the D was really good), but they seemed complacent to just play the half court all the time. Bulls D being as good as it is, the Heat had a lot of trouble getting good shots. Game 2 should be huge. Heat will be so desperate.

I guess I'm going to have to admit that Rose and the Bulls are really good, regardless of what happens in the rest of the series. Anyways both teams look somewhat weak, and if the Mavs make it like I think they should win relatively easily.

Heat seem in a bit of a tight spot imo, they just clearly got outplayed outhustled, and most importantly prison raped in the frontcourt. Not a big deal if bosh scores 30 if they give up 18 oreb. Also i didn't watch a whole lot of bulls this year(west coast) but gibson and noah switching to james and wade doesn't seem to provide any mismatch.

I agree about the Heat offense for most of the year Spo's poor coaching has been masked by the fact that Lebron, Wade, and Bosh are all really good, really smart players, but now that they're going up against a team with a coach that actually makes a difference it becomes a lot more obvious that Spo's coaching just doesn't cut it.It's hard to get a real "mismatch" against the Bulls defense under Thibodeau. All of our bigger guys are also the right combination of long and laterally quick to defend quicker players on a switch, knowing that there is help defense coming in case they get beaten by their man. Thib's defensive coaching is why he won coach of the year.

I think if coaches used him more like Deng (as a slasher/cutter) from time to time that would be pretty terrifying. He's fast and big, and if he's already on the move when he receives the ball he has the option to go right for the hoop or he can kick it out to a shooter or to a second cutter. Instead he gets isos and we all wonder why. It is possible that he refuses to play differently from the way he has been which would really be too bad.
