well, considering gambling is the most retarded way you can possibly lose money, I can't blame people who don't admit to it.

I've lost like $100 total I guess, but everything was given to me, so I don't care. was up $400 at one point but I lost all of that as well.

I lost $200 on Party Poker, got mad, switched to pokerstars, lost another $600 or so. I quit for a while because my dad found out, but then I tried again and I worked up from like no money and built a bankroll and made like $13k (cashed out) . I got a bunch in my PS account now tho.

Yea, i took screen shots of my tournament wins because at the time I was very excited I did so well in tournaments and I wanted to show off =P. Oh, and yes, when I went back after I lost the initial $800, I stayed with pokerstars.

I've done some more with tournaments, I have some money on PS still and mostly I just do $100 Heads-up, i was going to $200 but I had to give elky back the money he gave me so I have to do $100 HU until i make $1k more, then I'll do $200 and eventually $500 HUs. I only play like an hour a day so this is the most profitable for me, I can play a good 8 games or so which is nice.

hrm, all together or this week, or just today? cuz it's all bad ;D

lets see.... lost 150 all together from money i put in.

but i had bad beats from when i had a lot of money to where i lost it all, but i dont think that counts.

p.s. the thing that makes me mad the most is when you're in a tourney and you cant get a hand, that's worse to me than getting a bad beat in 1 hand of non tourney play, cuz it angers me over and over! ;(

Isnt it a LOT easier to make money on PartyPoker? Their lowest NL-tables-players are owned by PokerStar's 0.01/0.02-players

first of all if you're talking nl holdem, then yes, u make money a lot easier at partypoker (use a bigger roll than in pokerstars though, variance is bigger there). Don't play stud there (at least not below 5/10 because lower limits have a terrible structure) or sng, they're a waste of money because partypoker actually tries to get a structure than increases the luck factor (smaller levels, smaller stacks, more players per table).

more players per table has no effect on the amount of luck involved in the game

hmm, well, theoricly I haven't really given it much thought, but practicly I usually find shorhanded sng a good investment, it's a lot easier to "not get lucked out on" if there are less players that u have to eliminate.

EDIT: I thought a little bit about it now, and I actually think that the number of players at the table does influence the involved. If I have a skill edge against 8 opponents the more opponents u include the smaller my chances are even if I have a skill edge.

But isnt there a biggest random due to the fact that it would seems logical that the more player there are, the harder is it to follow how each one play...Of course, it is the same factor for anyone, but we are talking about luck?
But I do trust you are right that it might not change the luck factor meaningfully for an experimented player.

ye but your inability to follow how each player plays has nothing to do with luck

yeah, but the amount u get payed for winning doesn't affect the luck factor. But generally I agree, probably the small increase in the prize compensates the small increase in the luck factor. (I'm talking about the change between 9 and 10 players sng, not about 6players sng, when I'm on a small roll those are great, almost risk free if u play a few)

Speaking of poker T-T

I was playing texas holdem, and I had a flush with three hearts on the table, one of which was an ace (obviously, both cards in my hand were hearts).

My top heart was the queen, so I knew that the only hand that could beat me was the king of hearts and some other heart. So I went all in, and sure enough, someone had the king of hearts. His next heart was the jack.

Luckily, I was just playing with my friends, so it wasn't for a lot of money. Also, I ended up breaking even that night, Still, it pisses me off that he somehow had that hand.

I think im gonna quit poker til im about older (when ive finished school and got a job so losing money doesnt hurt as much).

I think im not good enough. I dont suck at poker, but when i lose on stupid stuff like all-in with straight vs 2 pair all-in before river and he makes full house, just fucks up my playing afterwards.

So i guess I suck at poker anyway ^^

oh well, im happy, its my birthday day after tomorrow -,- Soon its just 1 year til 18

So youre not trying very very hard to become better and qualify for the leagues in Korea then? ^^ Just wondering

I wouldnt in your situation :p not that i know much about it

hes prolly just trying to enjoy himself, everyone knows dan != nal_ra, so hes enjoying korea and the bw scene, and having a really good time at it. He has a different style, as long as he doesnt try to conform to them, he can do damage vs people who wont expect his unorthodox style. If he does conform, then he will just be another semi-pro/amature in the midst of 1000 other players. Either way, he's having fun

edit: 3$, all given to me by other players , ive coached my friends with real jobs though and gotten them alot of money. Sat with a friend of mine for the 3$ WPT Satallite to the qualifer, and he got.. 9th He was chip leader for 95% of the tourny. Top 3 = qualifer seat worth 670$, 4th was 217$ cash. He's lost all of his money though when im not helping him, its kinda sad, overall 200$ of what he's invested is relatively gone, including the swings, hes lost about 1.3k in a month.

I dunno I think pokerstars has just as many idiots as party poker, higher stakes, more options, more tournies.

Pokerstars is a great service. I don't see any reason to play anywhere else.

You know by law, every time you earn money it has to be taxed. Even if you won $1000, lost $1000, won $1000 again, lost again, and finally won $1000, you earned $3000 total during that exchange (at any point you could have walked away) and therefore it is taxable.

Btw, all this pockerstars shit and whatnot, can you withdraw your earnings whenever you want? I hear people say they make $800/day, but is that just in play money that exists only on the internet? Or is it yours in cold hard cash whenever you want?

Lost 600 in one month. Went up and down for 2 months. Now up 1,200 in last month. So +600 in 4 months of playing poker in my life. Lost the 600 cause I didn't even know which hand beats which hand. (Flush and full house ARE confusing.)

I lose like...$4 every transfer,$2 to transfer from neteller account to neteller's card and another $2 from every time I use the card for anything, and $5 a month just to have the card. I have no idea if these are normals fees for debit cards in the US but it seems a little high to me (not that it makes a difference to me or to any user, it just seems like their proffit margin here is really big)

First i got $50 on pokerstars and $50 on partypoker for free (dont ask me how), but i had no idea how to play so i lost it all. Then i deposited $50 to partypoker, which turned to $125 with bonuses and such, and lost it all at their sngs because i had no idea how tournament play worked. Then i learned a bit about it and deposited $50 at pokerstars 2 months ago, i'm now up to $250, mainly on headsup play.

I have no idea if these are normals fees for debit cards in the US but it seems a little high to me (not that it makes a difference to me or to any user, it just seems like their proffit margin here is really big)

i don't use the card at all just bank account transfers so everything is free of charge
why so 진지해?

Why poker though? I never found it fun. Someone explain to me why pokerstarz is so damn popular, or is it simply the easy pickens for Noob's. The only thing i ever gambled online at was casino.net blackjack. I deposited $100 of my own money and turned it into $1200 before gettin silly and making large bets on single hands and losing it all. So ive lost $100 of my own money. I found this much more fun though because it goes very quick, and is pretty low stress. You cant really get mad at losing to blackjack other than the company hacking the game to cheat. Which, kinda makes me mad.

PartyPoker is ghetto, their format looks like Windows Explorer with a fat PartyPoker banner at top.

You know by law, every time you earn money it has to be taxed. Even if you won $1000, lost $1000, won $1000 again, lost again, and finally won $1000, you earned $3000 total during that exchange (at any point you could have walked away) and therefore it is taxable.

That would have to be the most evil tax ever. But there is no way to enforce it now.

Blackjack you're playing against the house, poker against other players, which game do you think you can have the bigger change to improve your game and actually winning?

Not necessarily evil, its just taxing your income like anything else. You win the lottery, you get taxed. You are supposed to file gambling earnings on your income tax as well. People just dont consider winning and losing all within an hour to actually be any form of income. They feel its not really theirs until they decide theyve had enough and leave the building. But if the IRS were to audit the gambling site for all their customer transactions, youd all be screwed. Fortunately the IRS neither cares nor is capable since 100% of gambling sites are not based in america.

Anyone wanna put 0.50 $ in my poker star account so I can play 0.01-0.02 hold em limit? I would have a story to tell about the pourcentage I lose//win from my initial wage... ( it's worth trying?)
