Edit: It worked, thanks a lot!

What is with this freaking new economy system. It's honestly the most stereotypical korean grindfest now.
On a good game, I get 30k points in a 25 minute game -- on average I get like 15-20k points in a 25 minute game. Yet, I still barely break 1.3k unboosted points. I know friends who are really average (3-10k points a game) and are only getting like 700XP a game. With the fact in mind that basic shit costs ~42k points to get (plus another ~20k to upgrade), and a lot of weapons cost 170k to get + upgrade costs, you get a literal grindfest. Even if you pay, like I did and get a booster, you still make only 2-5k XP a game. And the upper part of that is only if you do really good. Yeah, I got a shit ton of XP from the reset and maxed out Raider -- but that's it.
That and with the new weapon setups, and the balance is even more broken. Soldiers get Thumper/Spinfusor combo for basically nothing. The new MIRV launcher is 100% unbeatable in close-mid range. It also feels like Fractal grenades had their range increased by a significant amount. Add into the fact that almost everyone has 3 right from the get go, and that Brutes now can also get the fucking Shield thing, and it's quite ridiculous. Now Raider is also 100% the most broken class in the game, from my few games. I'm getting 30-40 kills a game without really trying. GL + SMG + Scramble + Whiteouts = what the fuck is happening. Not to mention, they also managed to make Bella even WORSE than it was before.
Most of all that makes me mad? The fucking UI changes. The Menu before was ugly, yes, but it was effective. You could do everything you wanted in 1-2 clicks. What used to take 1-2 clicks to easily do now takes 4-8 clicks as you cycle through a shit ton of menus and submenus and shit. Did I mention how they fucked up Bella even more?
However, they did do some things right. The graphics and engine are clearly updated, it runs a lot smoother now. The new animations on the menu are admittedly pretty fucking neato. The idea of more customization is a FANTASTIC idea, don't get me wrong. I love it. But some combinations need to be fucking removed or unable to be done (such as the aforementioned Spinfusor/Thumper on Soldier). I want the customization to stay up, it's a great addition. However, the utter grind it takes to get shit -- even if you pay for boosts -- and flat out brokenness of some of the builds are just straight up taking away from it. Oh, and I love the Stealth Spinfusor. Great addition to add a skillcap to the Infiltrator.
Also, what are those tripmines I keep seeing? They can't be scrambled, disabled by taking out the generator, or anything and have a ridiculous trip range and they one shot you and cover a pretty damn huge area.
My advice for people just patching, and having played previously? You're going to get a bunch of XP refunded to spend. Use it all on one class and get it maxed out. Save the rest.

points is not based on score, only on time played if it's still the same. It helps prevent farming and abuse

That's absolutely ridiculous with the current prices of items and shit. I don't understand what they were thinking with this new economy system. It basically screams, "Buy gold or fall behind!"

"Just because it's F2P" doesn't justify having this. It was F2P before, and it wasn't as much of a grind as it is now. It's not even Pay2Win anymore because even people who pay don't win. It's just a grind. Is it fun? Sure, yeah, I'll still play as I maxed out my raider with my refunded XP. That doesn't make it any less of a total grindfest. Even boosts wont help now, unless you literally play ALL the time. You have to buy gold now to get really anything.

I agree that it's really grindy right now. The gold:XP ratio on the costs varies between types of upgrades. A perk is 160 gold or 18000 XP (1:112 ratio) while a weapon might be 780 gold or 170000 XP (1:218). If you play 2 hours a day getting the win bonus every day, that's about a month to farm the weapon. They should just reduce the XP cost on the weapons and packs/grenades to match the perks. The way it is now you need 3.8 million XP to unlock everything, this would probably bring it down to around 2.5M. To provide some context, in 3 months of VIP play at around the aforementioned 2 hours a day I managed to get just over 1M XP.
My advice on unlocking is to get all the classes and armor/pack upgrades right away since they are quite cheap. Then get some of the secondary slot perks since they actually are a good upgrade over the +10 energy one unlike primary perks. Egocentric, Potential Energy and Survivalist are probably the most versatile. After that buy the biggest upgrades for weapons/grenades/packs for the classes that you play the most. For example, you don't really need a better sidearm as a sniper but you do need the rifle for the pathfinder if you want to chase. You need mines to defend as doombringer but you don't need the alternative grenade for the soldier.
If you're going to call OP on something it's a bit silly to list half of the classes in the game. There are a lot of nice synergies now. Brute/raider with the shield pack and potential energy perk means you are constantly generating new energy to shield yourself by getting shot at. Doombringer with the Looter perk can plant mines on the flag and recover a mine from everyone that dies at the stand. The mines are kind of funny too since on katabatic they bury themselves in the snow on the stand and become completely invisible. They also give you midair awards, so enjoy that until it gets fixed.

I paid for the beta entry with the gold and boost pack. I don't treat this game as F2P. This will turn out to be a AAA title. Yes, if you don't spend anything on it, it will take a very long time. But consider that a demo. You get 3 classes for free now, with all the gear they used to have.
If you buy a boost for 10 bucks you'll get VIP (50% exp increase for life) and 10 days of 150% income. That'll unlock quite a bit.

one weapon per month playing casually is not bad at all.

No, it's not silly at all. It's not a good design philosophy to balance the game by making everyone overpowered.

Yeah, Soldier Thumper Spinfusor combo is broken imo(tho I'm a noob) But meh, I get the cursor issue t_t

Don't spread misinformation. It's based on both score and time, same as tokens were before the overhaul. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with people saying things when they don't know what they're talking about.
Also I do believe they'll lower the cost of certain upgrades, or up the exp gain. They did the same with tokens used for unlocking classes previously, which used to be ridiculously high.
And just for the record, Im a f2p player, I'm level 23 atm and I wouldn't say I've been playing this game THAT much, and even if I did not a single game has felt like a grind. I got 900k xp after conversion and I can afford to max atleast three classes with some to spare.
They really should reinstate first win of the day though..

Although I do agree with the first half of your post regarding balance issues and the rate at which you gain XP, all of those things can easily be changed and with this new update it is very clear that they are not afraid of doing some serious changes. What you should be concerned with is the overall gameplay, since it is still in beta that is what I am really focusing on. Weapon balance, maps, and XP are things that can easily be changed.
Try to focus on the game's gameplay. So far the game is pretty fun to play, I agree that it still has a ways to go to get it feeling more "balanced" that is going to come through maps mostly and some character tweaking. The one thing that you can take away from this patch is that they are willing to change things and aren't afraid to.

Wow, the new pathfinder is awsome. Can't wait to finally unlock the AR but I dont think it'll feel like a grind since the buffed crossbow on the pathfinder is *amaaaziiiiiiiiing*.
