I don't know if it makes a good competitive game tbh. They would need to fix the technical issues and go for at least some smaller maps because the current maps are too open for anything below 10v10 and you can't sustain a game with that team size anymore.

so werid i just bought the vip preorder and the first game i get put with tons of higher ranks me being he lowest rank. before now i have seen anyone above rank 8. and now iam in a game with ppl up to rank 20.


is this because iam playing on a vip server or something?

You can also pass the flag easily to a teammate in this situation. In pub servers I never see anyone to come out and help the flag carrier.

2. Defend flag in base - makes it very easy to defend flag if you have a team that is defending the insides. You can pass the flag to a heavy class for durability or switch out to a heavier class as well (Jugg or Raider seem reasonable).

3. Defend flag outside base - This is good for capping quickly after a return, but is obviously hard to defend yourself. Good in that your team respawns close to you, but in pubs I'm not sure how much they will help the flag carrier. Basically all dependent on your team for protection.

Most of these are not too good in public servers because your team hardly does anything to help the flag carrier, but if you notice your team is doing a specific play style (aka a lot outside base defense or a lot of inside base defense) you can choose which option will work best in that scenario.

To drivec - I'm not really sure why you are playing 20's at your level, but I know that high levels can play with lower level players simply by following someone on their friends list. Likewise you can most likely play with high levels doing the same.

first, thanks to all that try to help here and spread their knowledge

then patch out! really interested to see how the projectile autos and esp inheritance plays out. more awards also. tho i think ill stay away from ranger for now, not so accurate rifle with projectiles and crappy varying 90-140 ping together sounds like a lot of guessgame spam to me.


also i would need help with paypal i guess. wanted to buy the 10day booster, went though the whole buy thingy but at the end when i log in to my paypal acc it asks for a credit card and doesnt let me just pay with what i have in my account. is that normal? i have zero clue of paypal and just used it for minor stuff and converting tf2 items in cash. i dont have and dont want a cc, so i cant buy anything now?

No. I played the VIP pass via paypal a few days ago. Worked okay. If you really can't make it work, write an email to paypal support, maybe they can help.

Downloading the patch now, I hope to get a few games in throughout the day and then hit it hard tonight. The patch notes look great, lots of good changes, including 'significantly improved projectile inheritance' which makes me think if it was at 20%, it could be 50% now. Also, no more fully auto hitscans!!!

This is what reads on their support page about paypal

"Why is it forcing me to enter a credit card on my account when I try to pay with PayPal?

Unfortunately, the way we are set up with PayPal requires the credit card as a backup funding source to complete the payment. Example: If a buyer only has their bank account on file with PayPal, the system will not allow for the immediate transaction/authorization to complete. (bank account only would take 2-5 business days) The credit card is required for an immediate transaction/authorization response. We are working with our billing provider to see if there is a way to modify this requirement."

Oh yes patching time. The only thing not entirely positive in this patch seems to be the new PTH perk and flag D getting end of the shaft. I really hope this doesn't mean people can grab the flag with their feet and fly away. Other than that HiRes really seems to deliver, at this rate we actually have a finished product on the launch where from they can continue to improve their system and everything else.

Also what is the inheritance set then, there doesn't seem to be any official post confirming the number.

They didn't list a number for inheritance in the patch notes, and I haven't seen anything from the devs. I really hope that the whole floaty disc/mortar thing is gone, though.

That's strange. I have no CC tied to my paypal account and it still worked.

New patch is out BTW. Hitscan is gone (apart from soldiers pistol and sniper, as far as I know).

I think people need to stop being so damn greedy with the flag. It's really becoming detrimental to the game itself. When people are sub 100-200hp and the enemy team is chasing you, PASS IT OFF. The voice message "Take the flag from me!" is there for a reason.Gets annoying as hell following some kid around as he's getting swarmed, he dies and it gets returned when he had so many opportunities to pass it off. It's so bad, when I try to pass it off to teammates in a pinch, they don't expect it since NO ONE else does it and they blame me for "griefing" when I "purposely give the enemy team their flag back" and shit like that.

So yeah, here's my PSA of the day.

Pass the damn flag off!

Haha, agree, but in pubs I try to let people have their caps. Like, they pass me the flag, kill themselves or regen and I will give it back. I think more than that people need to follow their friendly flag carrier. A lot of the time when I have the flag near my own base not a single teammate will come to my aid.

I'm just not confident in my ability to successfully pass a flag which is why I usually horde it. I guess I need to go into a private game and play around more with passing flags.

I like the new assault rifle. It feels a lot like the old chaingun, albeit with a reload. The inheritance boost is a huge improvement too. It makes chasing with grace weapons a lot easier. I still haven't tried the new disc yet (busy leveling my ranger for perks), but the thumper works much better now.

really? the bullets are sooooo slow... in addition to still huge rnd spread. tbh this might be one of the the worst feeling guns i ever used in a multiplayer fps. spray & pray at its ugliest imho >.<

also im confused by the inheritance change they did. why implement a system where physics are so much different depending on the shooting angle?
