If you are NA, then pm atheros or jackhammerxvii for invite into their agency
If you are EU/Pacific, good luck. I'm sure they will let you in, but trying to play 200 ping PVP or AVA is horrific and you will be playing at 3am-7am mostly so i wouldn't reccomend it. I'm currently in an EU agency but just add me as a friend ingame (BrTarolg) and we can chat anytime
Global Agenda is a sort of MMOFPS set in the future with 4 classes, Assault, Recon, Medic, and Robotics. The game's selling point is that there are "no elves" and that it has no monthly fees it's Free to Play!
Story 2155. From the ashes of the devastating Third Great War rose the Commonwealth, an oppressive world government determined to control the entire planet. The few remaining independent factions retaliate the only way they can, withelite teams of special operatives trained in advanced warfare tactics and equipped with high-tech weaponry. The future of humanity is their battleground, where knowledge is power, technology is a race, and everyone has a Global Agenda.
Other Features: Customizable Avatar Co-op with friends PvP combat with pew pew lasers Some type of leveling system/weapon upgrade system
Bumping this thread to let you guys know this game is now F2P! Been playing this game on and off since it was released, a lot has changed for the better and now everyone can play it for free. If you enjoy team based multi-player shooters, I would highly recommend giving this game a go, plus now you have nothing to lose!
I used to play this game when it first came out and it was damn cool. Now thats its F2P I'll probably find my old account and hop on. I used to play Recon. Sniping people in PvP was hilarious.

This is a great idea! We need to start a In-game name list.
I havent played this game in forever :/ I was a level 40 something medic with a 5 star rating, was really fun while it had people. I'm glad they brought it back free to play
I've recently started playing this myself, its a lot of fun. The PvP is pretty varied (although some maps suffer from balance issues, or feels that way) and everyone has their roles. The PvE with friends is also pretty fun. With all the coupon codes floating around, its well worth buying (and buying it means you get loot after winning missions/PvP, which is just a nice bonus).
My only real issue with it is the matchmaking seems a bit wonky and the sniper rifle not being hitscan, which is infinitely frustrating >_<
I remember playing the beta with clanmates, I was one sick Robotics. If there's any TL guild / Agency I totally want to be in it. Gonna level the robo back and rolfstomp with drones :3
On May 01 2011 12:55 Brees wrote: what kind of specs do you need to run this? higher/lower then sc2?
Pretty low spec. Anything that can run SC2 on medium should be able to run GA.
I'll also add in this: For people who obsess over fashion, the game is amazing. Each class has a bunch of different suits and helmets, some of which look awesome. You can dye them different colours (and some of the colours are pretty fancy - metallic sheens that shift colour depending on angle, etc) and just spend ages making yourself look awesome as you fiddle with colours.
It's nothing near, say, APB level customisation, but its an unexpected bonus.
You don't ever have to pay over 10 bucks for it as theres an endless supply of 50% off codes floating around, so it's a pretty good bargain. Also, a TL Agency sounds like a brilliant idea, make it happen!
I started playing recently when a friend told me it was f2p, and I must say I absolutely suck. Only lvl 16 assault atm. A TL agency to help me suck less would be awesome!
Alright guys I have formed the Teamliquid agency, please either send me a message in-game @ Badbiz or post your info here and I will try to get you in as soon as I can.
What is the name of the TL agency. I'm in a pretty active agency at the moment put if you can get a good team together for AvA I might be tempted to join up.
I just started playing some weeks ago, got a 23 recon. Would want to join. I'm thinking about streaming my play, too. Got a testrun on my justin.tv channel already, if anyone wants to check it out.
Downloaded it on steam yesterday and started playing today, finished up the desert quests fairly fast with a friend. Quite enjoy the gameplay as a Medic, compared to most healer roles I've played before this is pretty fun and involving, seem to die so fast when like a assault gets near me though.
After finishing the quest zone and hitting level 17 leveling speed seems to have dropped by 90%. Definitely need to buy at the very least the elite agent pack if I'm going to keep playing this.
Btw was there like some coupons around that made elite agent 50% cheaper or something? I'm just not into investing lot of money to F2P games.
It's awful, one of my most regretted purchaes. The FPS gameplay feels like an unpolished turd and the tacky MMO nonsense is exasperating. Completely unfun, unless you're one of those "I'll play any game as long as I can grind in it" types.

Lot of fun, started playing with the F2P announcement on steam. I think its got some exciting gameplay and balance once you get going through the first few boring levels.

The desert areas are a bit grindy (they were added after release to help appease the grindy MMO side that people wanted), the real game is all about PvP though. One of the most fun team FPS games I've played, maybe now it's F2P we can get a TL Agency going as long as enough people stay active.
Gonna install it and give it a try now that it is on steam. I remember enjoying it but then I quit at one point when I have to start paying or something.

Was making fun of your name.. Quick catch there Posey. Also, telling me to grow up because of a play on words to do with your name that made you lash out at me is pretty funny, and ironic, no? You bashed the game in your original post and I made a joke. You seem mad.

Your joke didn't make sense in this context and even if it did it wouldn't have been funny. Your original post was pretty dumb. Your response is flat out retarded.
More on point global agenda was definitely one of my biggest gaming disappointments. I was super pumped and the game fell completely flat in large scale PVP. It was somewhat fun to play random quick matches with friends for a few days, but that became dull too. And PvE was a total joke and a waste of resources as the target audience for this game were PvP oriented players.

have this game from the very beginning and actually is quite good. For some times i even got a bit addicted ^^; Anyway the rpg part of it is not anything great, max 50lvl takes something like 2 weeks of easy lvling and also is not that hard to get good equipment/mods.
The problem is the community which is really the lowest quality and that hirez won't probably develop any significant expansion.
Still is fun game with nice pvp moments.
If you are gonna make an agency i guess i could help a bit with my medic =)

Could be due to the influx of steam newbies players.
If you meet any players who only use their primary weapon (especially medics rofl) and no class skills, you pretty much know you got yourself a [steam] newbie.

Hmmm... probably... maybe I give it another try in a few weeks when the most of the people are done with the game again
so ive noticed the model of this game is f2p with things you can buy. my question is can this game be enjoyed for free or is it like some other f2p games where its only fun/playable when you purchase certain things like the jetpack?

Everything is free - afaik you do solo or "pve" until lvl 18 (a few hours or a day or two) and then from then you just pvp to "level up". doing PVP gives you tokens which you can use to purchase slightly better gear if you are higher levelled (like minor bonuses such as +1% health) so the higher level you get the stronger your gear gets, but not by much
Paying money (one time) gives you extra exp at the end of pvp (double) and you can pay even more to get triple (booster) The booster also gives you additional credits to buy more stuff easier if you have the level, and you can also buy credits
So im lvl 18 now, and i can only pvp, i need to find TLagency! D:
Played free trial some time after it launched, thought it was fun enough but not worth the investment. Gonna download it on steam now (No I am not one of them steam newbies) I can play any class, which one do we need the most in tl agency?
I am glad to see more people trying this out now that it has been featured on steam. For all the new people the game is much, much more fun if you find some friends to play with. Also it has been really laggy lately because of the changes they made to the servers, normally the latency is pretty good. If anyone wants some help or just wants to join up for some gaming they can message me in game, my username is Atheros. I am making an agency very soon with some friends, we all have a lot of experience in AvA which is Global Agenda's clanwars, which in my opinion is the best part of the game. If anyone wants to join we would be happy to help train you up so you can AvA with us.
edit: I'm not sure what restrictions free agents have, you might not be able to AvA, but you could definitely join our agency. Hopefully after playing with people you might like the game enough to buy it. With the coupons it is pretty cheap.
Haven't had much time to play recently. Don't think there is a TL agency, some regular should make one. If any of you enjoy the game, you can get elite agent for 30% off with coupons - I have a ton due to playing during beta so PM me if you'd like a code.
PvE shouldn't stop at Level 18 unless they've changed something, you should be able to do Max sec up to 30 and then do the desert raid scenario at 30 and the dome city raid at 40+.
Atheros and I will be beginning an agency next weekend, if any of you are interested in learning and playing Global Agenda PM me in-game with the name JackhammerXVII letting me know you are a person from here. We could also probably hang out on that as well as play Starcraft. We will be training for agency vs. Agency as well if you are interested. Cool to see the community branching out to another awesome game, hope to see you guys on the field of battle!
edit: Our agency is not specifically a team liquid agency, but we welcome all of you guys since you are a good bunch of folks.

What i meant was i thought the desert stuff finished at 18, the rest of it is instance running but yeah
The names Thenas, playing a level 29 recon. If you just don't give a shit , invite/friends me . Also R1CH, I think they meant the desert area PvE, but yes nothing has changed with the mission PvEs but it takes ages to find a group for them (queue is always short on medics).

would have been nice if we made an TL agency we can plan out everything here first, then take the steps. AvA is the most fun part of the game so if any of you like the game so far at low levels just get the elite coz its one time u pay and it isnt that huge money which u pay once anyway.
Tried it, didn't like it. It feels like a weaker version of Tribes, and the RPG function seems like a hinderance to the game rather than a fun feature.
I play an assault, tank spec (I think its called tank I can't remember) and its a lot of fun. There are some really interesting mechanics to this game that make it a lot of fun, especially when you start working together. Playing as a tank really gives you a tankish feeling; its not all just either bursting people down or healing people up.
My only complaint is that after level 20 the content seems to really drop off. The game was really fun up until then, but now I just sit in the city waiting for PvP queues to pop. Its like TF2 but with MMORPG qualities as if you were a PvPer in WoW.
So overall its an insanely fun game and I would definitely play it with others, but the lack of content after level 20 sort of made it feel like a bit of a grind.
On June 22 2011 00:59 Razith wrote: So overall its an insanely fun game and I would definitely play it with others, but the lack of content after level 20 sort of made it feel like a bit of a grind.
It's not so much a lack of content after Lv20 rather than the gap between 20 and 30. Considering the fact that the game is mostly about skill, as gear isn't game-deciding, the only 'grind' aspect to it I see is the indeed rather slow PvP queue. I guess the problem is that 60% play recon and only 10% assault/medic. Created a robo, just in case. Only level 7 now, but she's owning it up already. Next up will be medic, as in every game there's a shortage of those little white-green guys.
I don't understand why more people don't play assault. It has massive diversity in playstyle choices: tanking with a full talent set is absurdly durable, while a damage-oriented approach offers direct point-clearing destruction no other class can touch. A fantastic variety of devices to augment every playstyle: brute-force damage shields, freakishly powerful damage grenades with a rainbow of effects. You have access to the greatest spectrum of weapons available, from minigun people-pushers to grenade tanks, and don't forget the magmalance for people who know what that dot at the center of the screen is for.
The best part about assaults is your ability to prepare for every occasion. Your combination of weapons and devices is as flexible as could be, unlike other classes who excel with 'sets'. Other classes are fancy and look deeper than the assault, but they focus on support: recons disorganize opponents, medics and robotics support the team. I'd strongly encourage any new player to global agenda to play assault to a decent (~20) level, as it offers the most tools to carry any team to victory.
IGN is Vaer, haven't played since they made it F2P but everything looks much the same. I'd love to join the TL agency, but I don't anticipate I'll be playing this game heavily again.

Ya once I hit level 20 it was basically sit in the city and wait for missions to pop up. It basically became another FPS game but now I have to wait in que to play to level up, which just got old really fast.

I will post our agency name when we create it which will probably be sometime on Friday. We really like Team Liquid but we don't want to represent Team Liquid in Global Agenda. We want to be a seperate entity from TL. I do not want the agency to be dominated by status in Starcraft or by number of posts here. Our agency will be based on skill in Global Agenda along with contribution to the agency in ava and all other game modes. You are all welcome to join us.
I've just dl'd the game and have played to around level 8 or so with recon. It seems pretty good so far, but I've only been doing basic PvE.
Can I just jump right into PvP and be useful? Or is there a level that I should aim towards before getting involved?
edit- nvm. I just played my first Mercenary match at lvl 10. Was pretty fun, I must say. We lost the match, but it was still a good fight.
edit #2 - OK, since this thread hasn't been bumped I'll just post this here. I've got a lvl 18 Recon and lvl 16 Medic on my account so far. I'm really enjoying the way medic plays in PvP so I'm sticking with that for the moment.
Anyone on TL rolling with an agency at the moment? I'd definitely be interested in trying out some AvA or at least playing some PvP with you guys.
I have a Robo I'm really proud of. He builds countries, and with just a little time, and a little luck, genocide anon. The game is really easy to enjoy if you get into team based PvP naturally. The classes are straight forward, and each serves a very distinct purpose.
I just dinged 35 yesterday. And the PvP ques are 10-29 and 30-50. Don't worry about the level differential too much. Gear, nor levels, will make you exponentially better. The first 2 mercenary (pvp) rounds I played after 30 went most swimmingly. As long as you have a good team around you you'll be able to pull your own weight, or even shine in some cases. However, once I lost a few times (Six times in a row, right after those first 2) I realized that pvp is more nuanced than it seemed originally. Much more. Suddenly recons aren't sitting on a perch shooting random things for 15 minutes, they're making my life hell with bombs on my sweet country. Assaults pop their immunity bubbles as they start taking damage, rather than 5 seconds before it, with pocket medics shadowing them. It's a whole new tactical world.
By level 25-30 you look like a total badass too. It's also about the level you realize Elite Agent Pack might not be a bad idea. I got to level 20 on a recon, non elite, non boost. And He has 0-1 (I honestly forget if I have even one, but I don't have more than one) epic (purple) items. My Robo, boosted, with elite agent status, is 100% epixed out. I feel in love when he was in greens, and a fixer suit, but being able to fine tune my country with dem epix is nice.
They're expanding with every patch as well.
Also, I'm interested in joining whatever TL based GA Agency is about.
I'm hilariously addicted to this game now, shame there arnt more euro TL people to hang out with
Im 44 on my recon and pretty much OC now (i.e my power is maximum - best equips possible)
Started working on my assault and medic too
Btw one thing i would say is the elite agent and booster are really worth it lol, 4x exp/tokens and drops make your game a lot faster, though i guess its not needed if you enjoy grinding
Personally i like how it only takes a week or two to get all the equips you need for the whole game

I am currently in the agency Ares. You can send an application there, but I am not in charge of recruiting, if you have a willingness to learn, you will probably get in but I can't gurantee it.
Edit: the not really TL but welcome TL agency was ended due to friends wanting to join an old agency
