Vehicles look nice though.
little slower than battlefield but similar gameplay ; besides the # of people is massively different.
outdoors is balanced around vehicles, foot troops can learn anti vehicle/anti air indoors is balanced around foot troops/max armor

PC Gamer US April issue: PlanetSide 2 hands-on, with beta key!
We heard you might want access to one of gaming’s most exciting PC exclusives, so we went ahead and sorted that out for you. Issue #225 of PC Gamer US features PlanetSide 2—a veritable Manhattan Project of ambitious massively-multiplayer FPS design being tackled by the same studio that created EverQuest. Each physical issue of the magazine (subscriber copies and newsstand copies) includes a unique beta key for PlanetSide 2 that can be redeemed on the game’s website. Woo!
We also get a crack at XCOM: Enemy Unknown, 2K’s second (and more faithful, we think) reboot of the turn-based classic. In our reviews section, we verdictize high-fidelity flight sim X-Plane 10, X3: Albion Prelude, Dustforce, Flatout 3, Dear Esther, Earth Defense Force, Q.U.B.E., and more. This month’s Reinstall revisits Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger, one of the highest-budget games of its time in 1994 and a beloved FMV classic to boot. In Massive Attack, MMO reporter Josh Augustine preps you for the endgame of Star Wars: The Old Republic, with full-page maps and a detailed walkthrough of the first level 50 Flashpoint. Hard Stuff reviews the successor to Intel’s Sandy Bridge CPU, the Core i7-3960X.
Click within for a full look at our cover’s jetpacking gentleman.
i dont personally need a key since im still subd to ps1 but for anyone else interested

Why is there aim-down-sight in this game? Ugh.

The first game had the same exact thing...
The only reason they weren't "iron sights" was because of obvious engine restrictions. However, it was made abundantly clear they were trying to do a very similar function as iron sights.
Cool your butt.

What a god awful time not to have an amazing computer. Maybe it is for the best though... i can't see myself getting anything done in the next year if this game is even close to as awesome as the original was.

I loved the original PlanetSide, New Commonwealth FTW! I remember hearing about this like 3 or 4 years ago on a PlanetSide forum I posted on, but this is the only thing I've heard of it since then. Looks awesome, that trailer was horrible though.

Are you fucking serious?? My subscription ran out in January and when I finally decide against subbing again, they give away beta keys. Fml.
If I renewed my subscription right now, is there a chance I can still get the april issue???

If you've ever had a subbed account you are guaranteed access.

This game is the 3 dimensional successor to infantry online. If it's even half as good, it will be worth playing. When they say 2000 people, I wonder how big the worlds will be as a result...or how clustered it can get before performance issues arise.
I wish this game was an isometric-shooter instead of FP-shooter, though. Think "Alien Swarm" with superior networking, and balanced/fun guns.
