I think someone flying it around to kill people (not its intended purpose) is a cheap coward and that needs to be patched (which it is going to be). The fact that its so damn hard to hit while its moving full speed and half your attention is on actual enemies is simply stupid. Why someone would think that its actually a good feature to have in the game is beyond me.
On the other hand, the patch I believe stats that it will still kill you if it hits you but it will die as well (if im not mistaken).
Or if they made it take down a small percentage (like 15-20%) of your health. That would be ok too. But you dont see any military in the world MAV rushing opponents.
The MAV killing is absurdly funny when you're flying the MAV yourself. You can be that annoying insect that won't leave you alone outside. Making those meatbags always aware of your presence or they pay dearly.

Why? That seems like an extreme overreaction. A MAV will only kill you if you don't see it coming, in which case you are playing the game wrong. Or playing really weird game modes that I dont know of.
Yes I am a sucker for the MAV ;_;
As a sniper, even if you see it coming, you have to devote so much attention to simply dodging it and it takes nice aim to actually hit it. While I can do that, the time spent dealing with the MAV has gotten me killed the vast majority of the time. Now, as a rule of thumb, I generally do not shoot MAVs when I'm playing recon.
Then don't snipe. If you're close to action, more teammates will be in close proximity to you and will be able to easily take care of that annoying little bug for you. If you're not near them, then you're statistically bound to be among the 99,9% useless snipers that plague most teams and therefore deserve getting roadkilled be an mav. Fairly simple.

Recon is one of those things that you can either choose to have fun or choose to be useful, can't have it both ways sadly.
Either be a MAV drone 24/7 spotting shit nonstop or camp a spot and get those epic HS which don't really help your team as much as if you were running around capping shit.

The MAV will act like a motion sensor/tugs even if you're not driving it. Put one on the top of a roof then grab a general weapon/ semi-auto and I will give you all my medkits/ammo/revives/love. It's one of the most useful things in the game. Then fly it to the next building once the first one is cleared.
Man I need to learn to go to bed and not play BF3 for like 9 hours straight! XD Had some sick games tonight though with Shwyx, Tennet and Wakadodo but had a really sweet round where Shocks took out 21 people with the javelin that I was soflaming, very fun shit. Oh and Sharqi is best map atm I think, freaking Strike at Karkand is so hard to win if ur team doesn't auto defend gateway flag. Anyways gg's tonight guys, super fun, oh and P90 is da bomb. ^_^

Hell yeah, our SOFLAM/Javelin run on the roof on Oman was amazing. Poor chopper pilots .

You dont HAVE to camp to be successful as a sniper, I prefer to be more aggressive and your soflam/tugs really helps the team, and also your portable respawn thing is incredibly useful in rush and such, you just have to be more aggressive and lay it down close to the objective (or in a smart place).
Here, EP2 contains some nice aggresive recon play from my bud specter as well. If you can mirror it to any similarity, then you belong in the 0,01% that are a great asset to any team. PDW's on a recon that's playing with a squad is pretty useful on the infantry maps or rush/TDM, but much less so on the classic themed CQ maps, where any of the other classes would be more helpful in general.
Noone has to camp to snipe, it's just that pretty much everyone sucks so bad at it that they're forced to, to stay "positive" on their scores. All in all, they're being useless, and I hate useless people on my team.

Nice vid. I have a question about it. How do people record from 3rd person perspective like its done in this vid sometimes. I asked that question on so many youtube channels but noone wants to answer me -_-, maybe its a secret lol.
I would venture a guess that you have two people recording footage, like having a team mate follow you around in order to get 3rd person perspectives on people in BF3. I don't know that but just from videos I have seen it looks like how its done, never heard of some random command to do that, could be wrong though, just my educated guess.
^ yeah, thats the only thing that came to my mind too. but some of those videos seem to be real ingame footage and its sometimes strange that those teamates that record arent shot by the enemy in certain situations ive seen on videos but its possible. this is just another reason why a battlerecorder would be sweet there is so much potential to make epic edits with this game :/
BTW i finally got my 100th service star with the AN94 yay
As far as I know Nem just uses people's raw footage, but edits it with the angling and so on, which is what makes it look like 3rd person. Again, I'm not 100% on it, but as far as I remember that's how he said it was done on his BC2 videos.
I haven't played in a couple of weeks, though I don't have the desire to play any more because I'm waiting for the new DLC for new weapons, and farming all the unlocks for them. Also the fact that DICE didn't nerf the M16/M4 while changing the other weapons seems silly in terms of overall "competitive" balance. DICE is taking a while to come up with these "fixes". Also, with their upcoming DLC, what do you think the price for the DLC would be?
Aggressive recon is all about positioning and situational awareness, more than the other classes because you're not going to win in a firefight. Your pistol is your best friend, and choosing the right one for you is up to your feel. (Please don't choose the G18 though, the last thing you want to do as spray and pray in an up close fight.) I run with a battle rifle with a holographic scope, rather than bolt-action because I prefer to fight in the ranges of 20-50m (I don't really care about marksman bonuses if I am aggressive), allows more suppressive fire for teammates, and be able to place strategic TUGS/Radio Beacons. Plus, DICE is buffing those scopes in the upcoming patch, which makes this more fun (While the L96 8x and 12x scope glint is being patched so that the glint shows)! I remember having good runs lone-wolfing with this setup on Karkand, because I consider my teammates to be mostly incompetent at whatever they are doing (I consider I am being incompetent all the time too, with recklessness and the urge to win a heads-up firefight.)
Random thought: I always feel bad about getting suppression ribbons, mostly because I feel that I didn't aim correctly, or shoot fast enough than the other guys on my team.

Congrats on 100 SS, too bad there's nothing more than 100. Do you plan on switching to another weapon? 127 hours, that's a lot of time you put into the game.
I would guess that the DLC will be somewhere near 15 dollars USD because that's what CoD usually charges right? The "new" Dice wants to mimic them quite a bit it seems, not directly but from making a couple maps and not having mods available or anything so I would bet that's gonna be the price. 20 seems to high for some indoor maps and guns, but who knows with them what they will do with this idea.
I would pay 20 for some maps devoted to only ground vehicles, where the guys on foot basically have to wait until a tanks free like '42. Oh and a buddy of mine had an idea where we need an all air DLC, like maps where it could be over the ocean or something were you had to all be flying. Would be so awesome!
