Mainly because I'd like to use a weapon you have to aim with and not just spray. The MK11 kills with 2 shots and you're able to use it in mid-long range. The PDW just seems like another engineer weapon (where I have all unlocks). I'd also like to unlock the later sniper rifles (M40, M98). | ||

But in the end, since you've asked this question, I'll assume you are more familiar with the mod0, and it's always good to choose the gun you're used to. | ||

I have the SV98 as my sniper. The 12x scope is way to long. The 7x is almost perfect but I want the 8x. Do you unlock it with kills with the sv98, if so how many. | ||

SKS is a highly accurate semi-auto rifle, I don't think it kills with 1 shot to the head. I haven't tried it out, though, I use it like an assault rifle. ^^ | ||

I mean, this kid was 0-0 on my team. No, he didn't join at the end. He joined in the beginning, he was there when the round started. It was a 900 ticket server on Caspian Border In a 35 minute game, he sat in our base with his Stinger aiming at the sky. Just shooting at jets and shit. For 35 minutes. He had 90 points at the end of the game for assists or something from spotting the jets. | ||

Having evaluated SKS tonight: It's not that good. It feels like it does way less damage than the MK11, the only benefit it has is a 21 shot mag. I shot a guy twice in the back, two times in the leg without him dying. On the fifth shot he finally died. I'm sticking with the MK11/SVD and I'm gonna see how it works with the IR-sight. | ||

The SKS is a one-shot hs right? if it's not I'm going to cry. i did go with the 7x, i just unlocked the 8x after my first post. Its kick ass. I like bolt action, longer range and more bad ass. When you get straight pull bolt, the recoil recover time and the bolt pull time are similar, so when you spam you still get accurate shots. With the MK11 it was pretty hilarious to spam at a guy for a while I believe sks is one shot HS | ||

Med Kit or Grenade Launcher Now, don't get me wrong -- I play heavy support all the time. However, not only do most people not stand around for Med Kits (PC) but I feel like I can support much more with Ammo Kit + Grenade Launcher. I think people underestimate the strength of lobbing 2-3 grenades at a tanks tracks. Pro tip: It will disable it super fucking fast, with no real smoke trail for them to track and no beeping to alert them. Not to mention, it forces an engie to come out and repair, which you can pick off easily. I mean, I just played a game where I got ~20 kills based off of disabling tanks then picking off the engineers, or simply destroying the engines in transports and then retreating into the bushes and picking them off. You can make the argument of "Why not just go Engineer?", but meh. I like to fight from a distance and I like to support my team in ways other than just running up and trying to catch up to an idiot in a tank who keeps driving away. Reviving people is like half of my points every round. So, what do you guys think? Perhaps on more claustrophobic maps such as Operation: Metro, I'll do more Med Kit work. However, on shit like Caspian Border, I can't think of a reason NOT to use Grenade Launcher. | ||

Ha, as I mentioned waaaaay back in the thread the SKS is my rifle of choice as sniper. I run iron-sights, and either silencer or flashlight depending on the situation. I'm at 267 kills and 86 headshots with about 6 hours of recon playtime. The damage is lower than the other snipers but it's insanely accurate and the recoil is quite controllable, and it fires as fast as you can click I think. | ||
