Understood? Not trying to be a jerk, but people should know better.

What about the TL tagged helicopter spawn killing that happened for over 3 games? is he going to get banned? The teams have been very unbalanced recently as well. Thanks for at least caring about the quoted.
I find people who QQ about jets/helis allegedly "spawn camping" funny, if it was illegal you should be getting the out of combat area timer when you fly over. The C4 thing is obviously an exploit since they use the heli to reset the timer on the infantry.
Almost all starting points have a stationary AA that is practically indestructible, and if you know how to drop helis flying that low or camping 1 area it is extremely easy to take them down. Fake the lock on, or coordinate with another guy to fire rockets with. Teamwork works surprisingly well in this game.
I would say that it is sometimes "frowned upon" but there are so many ways to stop it and QQing about it is not one of them.
Not sure if you've all picked up on this or not, but with the 12x scope and the SV98, and also i'm 85% sure with the 8x scope (not sure about other weapons) the "range marker" thingy me jigs on the scope are all 300m apart, i.e. the first is 300, second 600 etc.
Once you get good at estimating range it becomes super easy to take people out. A good way to do this I found is to use the distance from you to the nearest MCOM to the guy you're shooting or the flags in conquest.
Go play Operation Firestorm and tell me that the AA guns are capable of taking out spawn campers...note, they aren't, since they can fly out of range, or its incredibly hard to hit them with bullets from the AA gun, making you get very little points, and still allowing them air dominance, since well you're focused on one helicopter instead of the 3 other things flying. Particularly its borderline impossible to take out a helicopter camping the carrier using the stationary gun, and impossible to lock on to him from any position. I was playing in the AA gun on that level when they started camping the carrier, I only finally go rid of them after a good 2 minutes of firing at them, with my AA gun, and then counter camping the left side of the map so that they could not fly back there again, which they happened to do anyways since they can fly way outside of the zone and hide behind mountains.
Sure QQing wont solve the problem, but banning the people who do this surely would, the two level 40's who circulate the server are notorious for spawn camping, and its often better not playing on the liquid server if they are in the game. Not that its impossible to out skill them, just the perks you get from being a higher level is ridiculous, and these people enter the server knowing everyone else just started the game, and don't have 100 hours a week to devote to video games, and abuse it by spawn camping. Especially the team liquid server, which is quite noob friendly with fast respawn, and consistent team stacking.
What console do you guys recommend? I think there's a lot of people who consider CPU FPS as the only way to go. I've always played CoD on playstation. Any recommends if I get this? CPU? or PS?

SV98 needs a 1 bar upwards, travel time 1
M40 needs 2/3, travel time 0,8
M98 needs <1/2, travel time ~0,5
all these numbers are just on a basic feel of the game, I don't have any data to support that.
Thats cool, i guess im just going to start trying with the m40 then, also thinking of getting a x8 scope instead of the x12, not sure.
How do you play recon on conquest? Im awful at pretty much all conquest maps, mostly because there are enemies fucking everywhere D:
It all depends on the enemy team, how they play, not the map for me mostly (apart from Metro obviously). I've had games where I couldn't do shit as recon either because opposite team played extremely well dominating us or all of them played very mobile and agile style with little to non recon players. But there are other instances where I was clearly on the losing team but just demolished the board with 30-2 score. You need to play a lot to get the feel of the maps and how/where to position yourself depending on the opposition play style and what bases you/they have. I guess what I'm saying is that it's so dynamic that I don't run on autopilot. I start on each map with a good sniping spot and then I move accordingly. Most obvious and blunt thing I can say is keep distance and be patient. You get sick bonus scores for ranged headshots 100pts for kill 10 for head and whatever distance is in meters. So 1 ranged kill from 300m gives you over 400pts. Oh and be mobile, don't be that guy that sits behind the rocks all the time, after You get 1-2 kills you are burned, sometimes even sooner if they mark you. Whenever I hear a hiss of a bullet flying by I get ready to move somewhere else. Unless You are far far away, that you are confident no one will hit you before you spot them. One more thing, but it's more a preference, I play very actively, almost never lay on the ground, run around, shot from the knees. You can stabilize the scope with shift and laying on ground makes the escape/relocation more difficult. Oh and make sure to mark targets, as a reflex with default "q" if they move it helps ( even if You scan for targets and saw something move, press q it will mark the enemy if he is there) ,and most of time it helps Your team !
Its just that on conquest...i really never know where to go, because they are literally everywhere. On rush atleast i know that they are coming from like at most 3 or 4 areas.
Need to play some more conquest :E. Also after a few games im as comfy with m40 as i am with sv98

Partially rumors, but it has all been cleared up. No BF3 on Steam

Just hammer it out Get used to the conquest and it's dynamic and know, that there will always be moments when someone kills you from behind or even worse with a knife. That's jest BF3, guy will crawl from his spawn point to You around the edges of the map but he will get You :D

I don't get why people keep quoting a tweet from early august when there were NEW rumors on legitimate news pages on early october about it. But I wouldn't count on it at this point in time. Just go get it, it really is a great game. =)

Team work would work well, obviously, but it sucks when you are the only one on the other team and everyone on the teamspeak server is on the same team except for you, yeah its "frowned upon" , that was the worst experience i've ever had on the TL server.

Maybe because it's official info and rumors are just rewritten or copied from one post on Kotaku website. It's not like it's hundred of clues, one information that is reposted 1000 different times doesn't make something 1000times more possible...

Not sure if you by CPU mean PC, but I would recommend PC. The PC version is the only version with 64 player support, and if you got a good enough PC you also get better graphic
It's in german, so I'll translate all german texts: topic: "Origin from EA crawls through medical data & chat logs" (imho it's a bit sensational, but we/) 2.txt: "With the software sugarbook diabetes patients can keep a diary about their blood sugar, cholesterin-, weight- and blut pressure values. Origin.exe scans those files and queries the creation & last changed date. Even though origin doesnt transmit the content of the files the fact that sugarbook is installed makes it possible to draw conclusions from that. "
"Oops. Gaychat. Again origin queries for creation & last changed date. Again here applies: Even without transmitting any content it's possible to draw conclusion from the fact that those files exist. In this case about the sexual orientation of the user".
Then there's a guide to reproduce the steps: - install Process Monitor (from sys internals) - install origin - run both
I guess it's just a mindset thing. I don't see an issue with it disabling vehicles because in an IRL scenario if I get behind enemy lines shouldn't I be doing what I can to put my side (team in game) in the best position to win? I know, I know "this is just a game" but how many times do people make the same type of IRL comparisons to support why X sniper rifle should be a 1shot kill or Y assault rifle should have only 3 rd burst?
I'm not saying everyone has to want to do it but making it seem like I'm some hacker exploiting the game to unlock all weapons and get a billion points, like people that hacked CoD, just seems a little much. If they warn me to stop then I'll stop. If they patch it so it can't be done then they patch it. I just don't see why people are up in arms about it. I guess be grateful you all are on PC and I'm on 360?
EDIT: Just saw the post about how resetting the timer is an exploit. Well I guess with my mindset of it I'm sure they'll patch it and then it won't reset. Therefore it won't be possible to do. As I pointed out earlier. Maybe if they'd of let us have a vehicle map on the 360 my friend and I would have already tried it and they would have found a way to stop it before release. >_<
lol damn on Metro being the assualt class is amazing for points rofl in 32 vs 32 conquest.
Seriously all I do is throw med packs, throw a grenade, revive people and shoot at occassion and I got like 6k points, next person closest to me in points was at like 3800 lmao imba for points

Medics were always broken for point-farming. If I was having a bad night in BC2 I could pretty regularly top scoreboards at like 5-11 with mass medkits and revive. Not much different this time around.
It's kind of silly, but at the same time, if the points motivate my assault buddies to... you know... actually heal me when I've been humping their face and mashing q for 30 seconds, I'm not going to complain.
EDIT: Also, what's this aiming mechanic change that's coming in the first patch?
Please get rid of Tehran Highway, no one is going to miss it and it lags your server. I keep reconsidering of ever joining it because the rubber-banding is just terrible

just a c/p from the last time origin stole filezzzz
Origin on installation will try to find games installed on your harddrive and automatically register them within Origin. It does that in a couple of different ways: It reads the windows games registry It looks for games in Program Files It looks for games in ProgramData (where, for unknown reason the OP's SMS and tax software are storing the data instead of the user profile where that data should go!) it reads the xfire config if it finds one for games If you look at the screenshot closely you will see that it does not actually read any files. Instead it looks for their existence and recursively walks the directory. It does not read any of your files, at least not judging from this screenshot or anything I have found on my machine. Lastly if you monitor the network traffic that Origin causes you will see that it does not transmit anything of value to EA. So far I have not seen anything bug login credentials being submitted. But it's always so much more fun to assume that software is inherently evil. You can hook a syscall monitor on any application and you will see that it operates all over the drive. That's not something unique to Origin. Steam will do the same if you click the "add non steam game" button.

Edit: Actually I dont care. If you want to see me as another enemy of your glorious origin. So be it. Not that I asked the other guy who just bashed Origin for proof. Not that Origin shows behaviour shown in the video even if it's not "Origin on installation". Not that there is an official statement from EA/Origin concerning the matter.
