Jets in BF2 were joke overpowered FYI, not some glorious work of art
Jets in BF3 are underpowered tho imo
I can agree that they were definitely on the top of food chain, but they were only 'overpowered' in the hands of a competent pilot. It wasn't like anyone in the game could just get in one and put up a huge score. Same thing went for chopper crews as well, the vehicles only lived up to the potential of the people who used them.
Is the guided missile the Choppers had in BF2 back btw? That thing was so cool, could do some really sick things with it. (Like taking down hostile choppers.)
the tv missile? Who knows until the full game is released since many features arent present in this build of the beta (Remembering its a few builds behind what DICE has)
It's definitely a vast improvement over BC2 not only graphically but gameplay wise. Then again i haven't played the giant map yet, but the overall feel and movement in Metro is really good.

Personally I think the jets were too fast in bf2, Made is much harder to have awesome dog fights because of how little turning/firing time you had.
There were plenty of amazing dogfights in BF2, it just usually required both pilots to be adept at actually dogfighting, which 99% of the population was not =p

I had that error when I had downloaded the BF3 beta from outside of origin and placed it in the origin folder and tried to play it.
The way I solved it was delete all the files in origin. start the download of BF3 in origin. Exit origin. Copy the downloaded files over the files origin created. Start origin and play.

Well i initially played BF1942 and IMO the air <-> ground relationship was so much more balanced than it was in BF2. Dogfights in BF1942 I felt were more skill oriented as well and just in general more fun because everything wasn't so fast (I used to pwn mustangs with bf109s ^O^!)
BF3 Dogfights will definitely be lame w/o flyby cam and it definitely is needed. You kind of need that if you want to actually be good ._>. I can live without a nosecam though, cockpit UI would add a new dynamic that would up the skill ceiling imo
Can you freelook while in cockpit? That could sorta offset no flyby
is there a reason why when i click QUICK MATCH, then it says "matchmaking..." then i click JOIN GAME it just sits there saying "Joining Server.." and doesn't do shit?
First time trying to launch and with no errors or warnings coming up it's really confusing
The only way I've managed to join a Caspian border server is to spam enter -> Ctrl+V (pw copied) -> enter (repeat if no spot). Otherwise impossible unless a server crash and restart and new spots.
