I feel like sniping is way to easy compared to bf2, i was horrid at sniper class then.
I also use the Infrared scope, it's extremely good to say the least. As far as I've noticed there's even less recoil while using that compared to the 4x acog or the RDS. But the smoke from rockets and explosives hides people for some strange reason. On assault class however, not recon.
Nice. According to that spreadsheet I can run 1080p on Ultra at 75+ FPS. Couldn't imagine playing this on anything short of max settings since it's so beautiful and I'm glad I won't have to upgrade anything to do so ~_~
First day pass, and had some problem getting used to suddenly friendly markers vanishing. Got friendly fired down something like 10 times a row as recon.
Snipers are funny as hell with their bling scopes. Seeing 2 bright lights in every rock at first map is funny as hell :D, also last map portion if attackers are overpowering defense, House looks really fun when there is something like 10 lights shining from windows. From forums(at battle log) someone suggest to snipe without scope just cause the whole effect is overdone.
Also, applied to platoon, hopefully someone accepts me.

Figured I'd write some impressions and thoughts for those who are curious and don't yet have access to the beta and/or the time to really play:
First, this game is really, really good. If you took the best parts of BF2 and BC2 and rolled them together, this is the game you'd wind up with.
The gunplay feels very solid to me so far. Hit detection has been improved even over the alpha, to the point that I don't feel I've ever been cheated on a deserved kill and maybe only once killed when I thought I should have lived. The hitmodels and netcode in BF3 are by far the best DICE have ever published.
Guns feel very solid, and drop people in just the right amount of time. It is noticeably faster than BC2, but probably a bit slow than hardcore more BC2 - it is, to my taste at least, the perfect balance. Even your auxiliary weapons like pistols don't feel useless, because you can pull them out quick and drop somebody with them in a pinch. Recoil can be quite strong on some of the guns, which means you really need to control your aim, movement, stance, and ROF mode to ensure your lead is where you want it to be going. I find myself constantly adjusting the ROF to best suite my present environment.
The unlock tree is actually quite impressive - those who played the alpha, there is a massive difference between them. Each primary weapon has all number of upgrades that can be unlocked for it by getting kills with that weapon, in addition to unlocking more primary and secondary weapons, gadgets, gizmos, etc. Once you find a weapon you like, you'll actually get to enjoy really unlocking some cool features for it and finding the upgrades that best fit your playstyle. For example, on stage 1 of rush, I'll put an ACOG 4x, forward grip, and heavy barrel (which improves damage at range but increases recoil) on my M416, but in the later stages I'll switch out to red-dot or halo sights (not sure which I prefer), and a tactical flashlight that can blind people in close quarters. No, its not damage immunity, but that half-second delay it can add to your enemies' reactions can save your life.
Laser pointers, tactical flashlights, and even the glint of a high-powered scope can all "blind" people in BF3. A lot have been complaining about these functions, but I think its important to note that they come with tradeoffs. The scope glint makes it harder to shoot the sniper in the head, but its also a dead giveaway that he is there - take a few shots at him and then duck down before he can get a bead. The tactical flashlight and laser can easily blow your location as your moving around as well, and preclude other useful addons like silencers, which reduce noise and remove muzzle flash (it doesn't sound like much, but it makes you much sneakier in practice).
When you are just starting out (or just unlock a new weapon), the lack of optics can be very annoying - ACOG 4x scopes and red-dot sights make a MASSIVE difference in your ability to acquire and hit targets quickly. Thankfully, optics tend to be the first upgrade you unlock, needing only 10 kills with the weapon. Don't underestimate the starter weapons either - They aren't flashy, but then a chrome paintjob never killed anyone.
I've spent the entirety of my time playing assault, based off my previous Alpha-stage experience it was my favorite. The assault rifles are quire powerful (though the Ak74 doesn't feel quite right to me), but compared to the alpha, sniper rifles now definitely have an edge at long ranges. Not many people seem to be playing support at the moment, which is odd given how easy it is to wrack up points with ammo boxes + killstreaks with bipod deployment in the right spot. A huge number of people are playing with semi-auto sniper rifles, and they seem to behave very similarly to, say, the SVU or ACOGed M14 in standard BC2 - just a few body shots to kill, or 1-2 headshots.
Recons can also deploy radio beacons around the map, serving as permanent (until destroyed by enemy action) spawn locations. This is a very cool dynamic, as it makes the more forward recon player a huuuuge asset to a squad, allowing them to spawn close to the fight and often from an unexpected angle. Sadly it seems most of the recon players don't deploy them, or deploy them right next to spawn cause they move all of five feet *sigh*.
I think this rush map is not a very good example of engineer play, as there is limited destructible terrain and no vehicles to assist. SMGs are quite good at short and medium ranges though, so they aren't bad choices either.
The System I'm running on is quite modest, an Athlon II X4 (unlocked X3) at 2.9ghz (no OC), an XFX 5770, and 4GB of ram at 1333mhz, running on a 1080P monitor. The game auto-detected pretty reasonable graphics options right from the get-go, running mostly everything at High settings with some AA as well. I'm sure with some tweaking I could eek out a bit better graphics as well, but frankly the game looks great as is. I haven't been running fraps, so I don't know my exact framerate, but its been very smooth the entire time barring driver glitches (some lighting effects freak out the game from time to time).
If anyone has any questions about gameplay or graphics or whatever feel free and I'll do what I can to answer ^^

Don't use the quick match function. Set up the search filter to include maps in your area with open slots, sort the results by ping, and then join manually.
I've also noticed it's almost pointless to use the bolt action sniper. I've only gotten to the first one but it takes the same amount of shots to kill and has the accuracy as the semi auto one, except you now have to unscope between every shot giving the enemy a huge opportunity to run away or seek cover.
Played on 360 cause friend had a code, was fun. Never got dropped, only major issue is that the game would hang on loading screens occasionally, but only when initially booting it up or quitting so no big deal.
oh my........i really hope they open up this map to the public at some point in the beta, i know there were talks about it on the ea forum but nothing solid.
I cannot wait to fly, or play conquest never played rush before today, can't say im a fan i guess im a bf2 hipster lol
I think they will open it up for beta, taunting everyone with that in the list is for a reason I'm sure. That Usamaftw dude has some great montages, hes a good player. I'm glad they finally made "hills" real "hills" again and not little baby things with bad looks like in BC2, that footage looks perfect in my opinion, great times ahead.
Maybe tomorrow we can organize and get some team games going? Hop in an empty server and populate a whole team of 16, or at least a couple squads? Would love to play with some smart teammates.

The gameplay however is so fun. I absolutely enjoyed myself. I am glad they made sniping harder than in BF:BC2. Cant wait till the 25th~!!!
mouse = as much skill as you can put forth
controller = making the game balanced for everyone, by having terrible controls
This. Console controller limitations have led to so much dumbing down of FPS games to appease analog sticks it's pretty disgusting (e.x. slower movement speeds, bigger hitboxes, lower player HP's, more "corridors" in maps so you know where to aim at...etc etc). The mouse and keyboard allows the game to actually revolve around what should be the most important part of the FPS genre, actually knowing how to aim. Granted, in Battlefield games, this point isn't quite as important. It's more of a team-based sandboxy type game (at least when we aren't forced to play Rush mode).
