Yes but when you can't get a char past 30 because of the boredom, it's hardly enough. The perfect combination would be Median uberlevels, skills + Hell Unleashed difficulty, normal areas and such.

I dunno, turning into a giant tree and whacking the shit out of stuff was fun enough to last me throughout the game. HU is fun though. One time 4 of us tried to take on King Leoric and this basically consisted of 1 person doing damage, 1 person kiting him to prevent regen, and 2 people running to town to buy potions. I don't think we even got him though.

(eg traps, hammerdin) No. Necromancers and Hammerdins were quite powerful before but as of this patch nowhere near. Even in the previous patch(es) the class-balance was nowhere near as skewed as that in Vanilla. Latest update on the patch/reset blue_myriddn wrote: Changes are still in progress, but I don't believe I will be able to get a finalized set of files to Soulmancer any earlier than this evening. While I had hoped to get them all out by this morning, that just didn't come to pass. It is possible that I won't get them completed until as late as early tomorrow afternoon, but I am very much going to try and avoid that Apologies for the delay, this is simply more time consuming that anticipated with the extensive testing, but I don't want to rush something out that is riddled with errors or missing features.

He is going to put some work in to the realm changes tonight and will be available for a realm reset tomorrow. The realm change is the deal where NM chars can't do quests for norm folks - so it is worth trying to get that in. Tomorrow it is then. Should match euro players better as the reset probably/hopefully won't be in the middle of the night :D

edit: Also there's an impending reset? Like within the next day? Should I not bother making a char atm?

The default modes "DirectDraw" and "Direct3D" are way outdated for modern PC's. I think there's an option to run windowed in the wrapper configuration as well. I'll provide troubleshooting to anyone having problems installing. Additionally you can check out this subforum: link Thanks for the help, I'm trying it out now. Do know of a way to run D1 on win7 as well? The colors get messed up too ![]() + Show Spoiler + I want to play both D1 and D2 for the story line before D3 comes out

![]() So now that the mod's being reset, and we have a TL thread, do you think we should start a TL player database? Would it be awesome to get a TL run through? (With hilarious blogs too?) It would be nice if someone with more experience could help newer people, especially with things like builds (because I know some spells were rebalanced?) Also, just a side question, can you start a character on Hardcore, or do you still have to beat the game first like normal D2?

Also, just a side question, can you start a character on Hardcore, or do you still have to beat the game first like normal D2? Yeah, I think there has been voiced enough interest to organize a TL party, if you can get Alventine or someone else with a bit of experience to help you out that would make things easier for you. Otherwise you could always post here or send me a message on the realm when I'm online. More on class balance/selecting what to play: I really recommend every party to have atleast 3/4 of the male classes: Barbarian/Druid/Necro/Paladin You'll have a tank, one or two life buffs, healing/useful auras and curse/summon support that way. Sorceresses can be useful, but they're not what they are in Vanilla. Don't get them just because you want to teleport. You can't teleport through walls and this mod isn't about rush-teleporting to bosses and farming them. Amazons and Assassins are useful as well, they're just harder to play and doesn't have as many party-friendly abilities. I could edit the OP with the accounts people plan on using. Even if you haven't made one yet you can still be fairly certain it's available as long as it isn't a too common name as all the accounts are wiped at reset. AFAIK the friendlist on the realm isn't capped at 25 so that could definately help getting things organized/keeping in touch with other TLers.
