Additional ideas: Invest in temples, Jarls. Make quicksaves cost 100 gold. Challenge Maven to a a bidding war over buying and gutting the orphanage, turning it into a chemical factory. The more I think about this the more I want to finally learn how to modify Bethesda games.

You should make a mod where a random dungeon becomes an 80's disco club for a limited duration.
The player has to distribute the invitations for the party, dress up accordingly, may or may not get a afro and head to the dungeon/disco.
The enemies are hipsters, hippies and party hoppers which try to beat you using a variety of medieval dance moves (the dragonborn, the daedric prince of malfunction etc). Random disco bosses will be John Travolta, MJ and little george from UK got talent 2008 show( i love this kid).

yeah

i'm not sure about morrowind because i never finished it, but in oblivion there was a point where money was so easy to get that you didn't need it anymore

it's just one of the quirks of the gameplay in the series

they sort of addressed by changing the average buy/sell ratio from like 2:1 to something like 5:1, but then they broke it all over again by making the potions so insanely expensive

I think that'll be my project for the weekend. Look into resources to learn how mods on TES work. I've taken cursory looks at them before, enough to just barely change something I didn't like but never anything extensive. If anyone has a tutorial/resource site it'd be a lot of help

Edit: Yeah, I've played most of Bethesdas games and this usually happens. It's just never gotten this bad. Fallout I would gorge on weightless ammo; Oblivion I forget what but I had some way to burn piles on piles of cash. Morrowind I remember buying everything.

I dunno. Found the Skyrim Fighters Guild? Pay a hundred men a thousand gold to retrieve those ballistas from Dwemer ruins so I can just spear dragons from the ground when they circle above but don't to come down to play?

In Morrowind, if you wanted money was totally irrelevant, as alchemy in the first big town you enter instantly made you a multi trillionaire.

Big surprise, alchemy in Skyrim is also rather "broken", although not quite as in Morrowind.

edit: I HATE that, when dragon just circles around but dont want to engage. Need to figure out a way to eliminate some range limiter from lightning bolt so I can agro them from afar (since it has no travel time)

I take it that's part of the main story line? TES games, the main quest line is almost an afterthought. I didn't "beat" Oblivion until 3 months after I bought it. I have fun in the games roaming around, doing random quests, exploring /cough becoming a robber baron.

I want more lightning/fire/frost 'stream' kind of spells. The only ones that fit are the novice destruction spells and the master lightning one but that one just seems impractical to use and the novice spells are weak. I don't like the missile types and it's put me off of playing my mage.

The main quest, hmmm, I have 86 hours played and I'm not further into the main quest than just having visited the Greybeards for the first time :p And I still have half the main cities to visit. And the Dark Brotherhood + Thieves Guild + Stormcloak and Imperial questlines.

I'm 74 hours in and I've yet to visit the Hold in the swamp, haven't done Dark Brotherhood or The Imperial/Stormcloak and haven't even climbed up to the old Greybeards yet :D

I've just been clearing out my Misc Journal today.
I just turned in someone for Talos worship and felt bad so I killed the Altmer =_=

Oha, i see i'm not the only one that is slow. ^^

That being said, i made a new character at around that point to do the other things with that character. My first one got too imba due to powerleveling blacksmithing/enchanting. Now i'm still doing both but am not going to buy things from NPC's (ores, leather etc)!

Can anyone who's played mage at high level tell me if there are any killmoves with spells? I haven't seen any in my playtime at least. (Which is about 120 hours as a fairly mixed all-round class)

Same here, just disintegrate and burn and turn; no specific kill moves. I didn't max out frost but I'm assuming it's similar to fire and lightning.

So, I have a question concerning the lore with the Mages Guild. Spoilered just in case someone reads this that hasn't bought the game yet

So what's the deal, the Mages Guild in Cyrodiil was dissolved the same year the player character becomes Arch Mage? Wtf? The only information I've gleened related to why is the Guild became heavily political (I'm assuming moreso than it was previously during Oblivion).

What the hell though, I know I just showed up to pick up the free herbs my bitch useful apprentice would gather and to make OP spells but I don't remember doing anything to warrant the end of the Guild! Okay so I killed the apprentice when she didn't gather Nirnroot for me! SUE ME!! But it isn't my fault. It's not my fauullllt!

Yeah you could stack potions so you could become a walking god but also you could sell them for a tidy, massive profit and afford to build a carnival of beggars.
Edit: I remember buying Morrowind when it came out.. 9 years ago. God does that make you feel old.

Yea I know..nearly at the end of the main quest

doesn't really help much during the game

edit: for alchemy being OP, google around for 32k backstab and see how crafting breaks the game.
