Never had much problem with bears in my games, they can be a bit tough, but i never need potions against them. Some power humanoid are more of a problem, and the dragons can be pretty tough, especially the ones at "Dragon locations". But I think this is on purpose since those dragons are usually keeping Words of Power.
I remember yesterday I was farming for dragon scale for my armor, and ended up fighting in one of those dragon place. I had just finished the dragon, when Krosis jumped out of his grave. That was pretty tough, good thing I have always a shit load of potions. + Show Spoiler +But the Krosis helmet was sooo worth it ! +20 Archery lockpiching alchemy and as much armor as my dragonscale helmet when both upgraded. It was xmas for my cat !

It could also be due to level scaling. If you're fighting dragons in an area that's low level (from you visiting it earlier) vs bears in high level areas it's going to seem disproportionate.

hi guys. another question. i unlocked the scaled/plate smithing perk, but i can't find a forge anywhere that will allow me to make those armour?

Unarmed in this game isn't Morrowind that's for sure. It's called Khajit with heavy armor perk "Iron fist" and enchanted gloves. It can actually be pretty devastating ^^ And disenchanting those +unarmed gloves and making really good ones.

Daedra hearts will show up in the ingredients tab, though they are pretty expensive at 400-500. I find that it is useful to stop those shops whenever I'm in town, then I can go and buy out nearly the whole inventory of ingredients. Most ingredients are cheap, and combine to yield potions worth many more times their original value in resale. This is probably the best way to make money in this game, much better than enchanting daggers.

The shady dealer in the Mage college also carries Daedra Hearts.

Does bare-handed count as 1 handed for purposes of leveling a skill or are gauntlets the only method of scaling?

Shadowmere is so op it's not even fun sometimes. I got into a fight with Markhat guards yesterday, and shadowmere was just tanking 15 of them while i was picking them one by one. ><

damn it. Died 3 times at same spot before I had to leave home.
Got to a stormcloak fort that was taken over by some mages. Cleared all outside and tried to enter fort prisons.
In first room two mages wait for you, one casting fireballs other lightning (and a shield spell from restoration school). I play pure mage

If you have it, use Frenesy and let them kill each other. :<

The mobs at the shrine also respawn after a few days or something of game time so this is the best place by far to farm yourself 4 at a time if you do not want to buy them.
P.S. The quest for the shrine is the one that wants you to go visit the museum.

This is so true. I thought he was invincible and treated him as such, no need for companions etc. Trusty shadowmere will tank dragons for me! He can leap off cliffs and not die! This horse is sick....
I missed him so much when he actually died on me. /cry
Apparently he can't tank a whole elder dragon for you and then be ridden off a cliff immediately afterwards. Too much even for him.

From what i know, he can only die from falls. He's just unkillable with attacks. I could try to make him aggro a whole town, but even then i think they would take a lot of time to kill it if it's even possible.

Alchemy merchants sells daedra hearts very rarely, also Azure's Star/The Black Star in this quest you can get too 3-4 hearts.

Yeah if he gets too low from a mob he just does the normal horse thing and runs away. I am pretty sure you can make this happen. (Their version of cowering). I rode him off a cliff right after a fight and thats when he died. (I had rode him off many many comparable cliffs before this. Wasn't something super extreme.)

It dies from falling from the extraordinary height of two and a half meters though. Yup, it wasn't even funny, I could be on a fucking wheelchair and jump from that cliff but Shadowmere who apparently can tank 2 dragons like np died. fml

That one isn't a type of armour like the other one's, but a sub option for armour types - for instance Scaled Dragon or Plate Dragon.
