The skillsystem in the previous games is okay, but I hated the rush for Endurance and Intelligence to maximize your character. Now on level up you just put points into magicka, hp, or fatigue.

I'm more hyped for this game then I was for SC2.
Who else is gonna play max difficulty and no fast travel allowed? I also might ban Destruction and/or Conjuration. I think it will be interesting because the game is new and there won't be any crazy imba strategies for it yet.
I even made a short character bio:
Velos Askedis (or Askeladden, meaning Ash Lad) is a young bard. Discovered in the ashes of a burnt village as a child he is an orphan, given the surname "Askefis", meaning one who sits blowing in the ashes. This references his innate laziness as well as his state upon discovery (the least useful member of a household maintains its fire).
He travels Skyrim, practicing his craft and exploring the world. When he cannot sing for his supper, he resorts to petty crime or con. He aspires to fame and wealth, yet refuses to work. Although he often relies on nothing but the the gods, his lifestyle has taught him several useful skills.
Velos is adept at stealth and picking locks. He is familiar with both short blade and bow, using them to hunt for food and defend himself. Occasionally needing to forage or medicate himself, he has also learned alchemy. He learned the basics of illusion by crashing mage guild lectures and befriending them. He wears light clothing. He excels at manipulating people and tends to have a self serving, narcissistic personality.
Velos finally is imprisoned after bedding a nobleman's daughter.
Is anyone else as big of a nerd as I am?
edit: sorry for the bad English I wrote it for myself

So pumped for this game. You know you played Oblivion too much when you know almost every character in the Imperial City by name
Best game I have ever played in my opinion. I hope I feel the same way about Skyrim that I did about Oblivion. I'll be going hard in the paint for role-playing this one :D

Grrrrrrrrrr, want to play it now

I get the max difficulty thing, and the no fast travel, but "banning" types of magic seems extremely lame. Yeah, hey I just got a new game, but I'm going to take out all the spells, wtf?

Yeah that's why I said 'might'. I know I won't, since I want to see what they all look like.

I've always wanted to play an elder scrolls all the way through without fast travel, maybe I'll actually do it now with it turned off. I wonder if there's any added benefit to handicapping yourself.

you just naturally tend to explore more of the world that way I think. I have more room to get distracted on the way to whatever I want to do.

I hope they finally implement a decent combat system.

my thoughts exactly.. I think oblivion is highly overrated. any game where you just left click your way through the game is not a good game. They have more or less kept the same combat since morrowind and its entirely boring.

This. If they do this (imagine if they had something like Dark Messiah) it would be so bad-ass... but then again, there's no FPS melee combat that has come close to dark messiah.

I just hope enemies dont scale with you level like they did in oblivion. I hated that no matter who i was fighting they were always around my level.
|
I cannot wait for this game. Oblivion was huge for me, this would be the same. Can't wait!

I'm probably going to stick with what I did before in Oblivion. Melee + Destruction spells. I love Archery but I'd prefer the Melee first, work with the other stuff after. I soo can't wait lol.

Now that dual wielding is possible I bet there will be so many characters named drizzt do'urden and artemis entreri, probably some jarlaxles too.
|
As someone who has read all of the Dark Elf Trilogy books and played Baldur's Gate, I would be one of those people that makes a Drizzt character.
|
I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that the dude you are playing is supposed to be emperor. After all he is a Septim. The main quest could be about you reclaiming your lost heritage or some shit. But I dunno.

im saving up for this... yeah!
|
I'm hoping that you can combine a spell with ranged archer. Like turn a mob into ice with the spell on your left hand then pull back the bow and use your arrow to shatter him. This is the combination that i liked in DA2. I like playing ranged classes but always wanted to light my arrow on fire before firing it. Imbuing some type of magic into the arrow before i let it go. Sadly never figured out if i could do that in oblivion or not.

why are so many ppl talking bout oblivion but nobody about morrowind? morrowind was kickass compared to oblivion (sure oblivion was great too).
