i dont want to pay and being unable to play because it will load the graphic to slowly like it did with Rage load times are pretty much entirely hard drive/RAM/VRAM, not cpu as far as i know sry i meant texture, so teh game was loading fine, but it took a while to get all the texture up when the load time finish and if i move my screen i was losing them again until i stop moving :/
Thats odd

I honestly have no idea what all the fuss was about with the UI and the mouse. The mouse acceleration was a bit annoying but you can just turn it off. The UI isn't perfect but it sure as hell is a minor issue, one that doesn't make me enjoy the game any less.
Six hours in and the game is splendid. Just brilliant.

In that light, wouldn't the graphics of most games be a joke compared to the Witcher 2?
I like Skyrim's art a lot more.

There is a great deal of mouse lag even with vsync and accel disabled, id say around 50ms, i used to play a FPS at a pretty high level so it felt almost game breaking to me at the start but its playable once you get used to it

What the hell, a child from Riverwood that I played hide and seek with hired 3 thugs to beat me up?!?!! They found me in Whiterun.

Yeah, an FPS would of course be unplayable like this but it works in a game like this. Half an hour in and didn't think about it.

I am only writing this because some people are already screaming GOTY for Skyrim while I cannot see how as a total package this game can beat Witcher 2.

The UI is kinda ok, its very annoying though hitting the wrong button often, it is obviously designed for consoles at the expense of PC users, so i wonder if it will be changed with a patch or something.
Playable but kinda annoying aspect that shouldnt be there in such a great game IMO

No offense dude but i absolutely fucking hate comments like this "i used to play fps at a high level durr durr durr" - seems to come out of 1/10 forum goers mouths. Props to you if your not chatting bullshit and actually attended tournies and won etc though.
I for one get none of the issues anyone has mentioned lol
This game is freaking epic, although i feel the world map is kinda small (?) like, you walk about 33% of the height of it just going from the big town you start off in to its "western tower" for the quest (the epic one yaanoo! :D). Regardless i didnt actually feel it being "small" when i buggered off on an adventure after the gold claw quest, just looks it

Anyone know how to change the vertical sensitivity? it seems like the horizontal sensitivity is MUCH lower than the vertical sensitivity. Alot of itmes i just spin around looking up or down, because I use a med-low sens on my mouse (lowest dpi stepping), so i use my whole qck (probably half for skyrim) so swipe movements have me looking at the cieling! Really annoying

as an archer. why might i choose light armor over heavy armor? I can't find the downside to choosing a heavier armor type
|
Has anyone else has sound issues? Every now and then (I'd say every 5 mins) there is this crackling sound replacing the sound that should be playing. For example, in a dialogue sometimes an NPC's voice is replacing with a crackling sound, and as I move around various sound affects or area musics suffer the same problem
All I can think of is that certain sound files are corrupt or something? (That or its intentional to the story..... oops......)
Another note, sometimes if I keep moving while talking to someone (or move just my camera if I'm forced to stand still) sometimes the crackling fades in and out, which I can only attribute to the sound files changing slightly as they occur in different directions from me, and so they sometimes work sometimes don't
--------------
Even that rather large problem hasn't stopped me from playing this for 6 hours today, I'm playing a wood elf stealth/thief expert, primarily using archery but also some one-handed for sweet dagger assassinations ^^

I am having desktop crashes. Can't really seem to isolate why or when it happens, I can't get out of the town the dragon destroys because I keep crashing to desktop at random places underground haha. X_X
*goes into the Skyrim.ini and sets autosaves to 10 minutes*
Answer the two posts above this - I THINK heavier armor is more stamina drain. That's all I've noticed so far.
Sound bug: go into Control Panel --> Sound --> Speaker's Properties --> Advanced tab(vista/xp might be different) --> Default Format --> 24 bit, 44100 Hz (Studio Quality)
Insta-fixed sound bug for me :D
also I am a wood elf too! :D Cept I'm bashing skulls in with 2h weapons this go-round, I think.

oh and 4) is there some way to control the types of swings i do? atm all i can do left click to swing, right click to block. but i notice sometimes i swing down and other times i swing horizontally. can i do some kind of aoe? swing (attack speed) is based on what type of weapon you're using (so 2:no and 3:yes). not sure about 1 and 4, though heavier armor probably causes you to lose stamina more quickly when running. so is there some kind of ratio i should know?
eg: i have a 2handed mace with 40 damage and 26 weight, meanwhile i have a sword with 33 damage and 19 weight. which should i use assuming i haven't specced for either weapon specifically

Rant ON:
FFS I hate games where saving is like a 10 button process. Why must I press so many friggin buttons to save my damn game? This causes me to get lazy and NOT save then die....We all know what happens when you die. JBHJVHBKFU
Rant OFF
Game is OK. Its way to dark though, and I mean dark as in I cannt fucking see dark, not evil dark.

More weight = slower speeds + more stam drain. Maces are slower but generally do more damage than axes/sword, and so on. 2h weapons obviously drain a ton more stam than 1h, and you also swing slower, but do a ton more damage. All up to your playstyle, really.
