What a load of crap. rofl Yeah I just skimmed through all the drama thats going on around Legacy. Glad I'm not part of that shit! I like how they are spying on eachother, backstabbing eachother, trying to compete, even sabotaging eachother etc when the game is not even fucking out yet! LOL so hilarious. Anyways, I hope the EU guild will do well!
I dont see how spying etc would help them anyway..? Locations they are going to hit in WvW? Builds for sPvP? idk...all seems pointless, all the information will be public in seconds anyway

They've caused way too much drama to even slightly deserve to be linked to Team Liquid. Mind rounding up some sources to back up your accusations? Team Liquid doesn't really like having people spreading baselss rumors around. Also, if you look a few pages back, Team Legacy's guild leader laid out the timeline of Team Legacy's development and stated clearly that the only affiliation Team Legacy has with Teamliquid.net anymore is that a lot of Team Legacy's users are fans of TL.net and Starcraft 2. http://gw2wvw.com/main/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=166Have fun.
Oh wow hadn't seen that one yet, thanks.

That is really interesting, especially considering people are under the assumption that grinding for gear doesnt exist. But 75 hours spent at 60 to get a full WvW set isnt a very long time. (maybe 80 will take longer?)

OK people, since apparently no one else wants to do this but there are a few handfuls of people interested in joining:
I will lead a TL guild (US servers). I don't have a name for the guild (and will not use "Team Liquid" since apparently TL does not want anyone to use that name). So give me suggestions or I will try to come up with something on my own. I will not be super-serious about GW2 and don't expect the guild to be super serious either. If you are a member of TL who's been here a while you're allowed in but don't give the guild a bad name or I will kick you.
I also don't have a server picked out to play on. Here's a poll with some choices. Whatever everyone wants on Thursday will be where I make my character.
Poll: Which serverEhmry Bay (9) 56% Jade Quarry (3) 19% Sanctum of Rall (3) 19% Gate of Madness (1) 6% Blackgate (0) 0% Borlis Pass (0) 0% Stormbluff Isle (0) 0% 16 total votes Your vote: Which server (Vote): Blackgate (Vote): Borlis Pass (Vote): Jade Quarry (Vote): Ehmry Bay (Vote): Sanctum of Rall (Vote): Stormbluff Isle (Vote): Gate of Madness
Once I get the guild set up I will post about it here.
I would appreciate it if this post could be linked in the OP. Thanks.
If you have questions/suggestions for anything let me know. I will try to read every post in this thread but you can PM me if you want to make sure I don't miss something. Assuming this guild doesn't fail I will probably create a separate forum at some point.

can anyone tell me where can i find guides regarding the game, classes, skills, I.m new and I don't know where to start Thanks

I'm leaning towards Ehmry Bay mostly because a really intelligent youtube guy I've been watching the past few weeks named "WoodenPotatoes" is headed there with his guild. As far as I'm concerned, he's basically the Day[9] of GW2 at this point with as much quality content related to gameplay/lore/discussion etc that he puts out on a daily basis.

But then again a lot of people/guilds I've been following haven't released what server they're going to publicly yet either. Free server transfers for the first week give us some time to decide though.

There really isn't one huge compendium I've found of guides for all these sorts of things. The best guide's I've read for specific classes have been in completely random, isolated forum threads or watched youtube videos of gameplay/commentary. The best general source of information is probably http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page. It won't have any "guides" that analyze particular builds and what-not, but it's got all the raw data on spells/mechanics/professions/crafting/etc that you need.

I've pretty much kept out of this thread because of all the Team Legacy crap. They just seemed like terrible people to play a game with and their presence in these threads has been absolutely suffocating for a guild that claims to have nothing to do with teamliquid (despite wanting to use the name Team Liquid originally and being told they couldn't).
It sucks there still is no clear alternative for a TL guild

Meh, all this drama has me really confused. I've read through the links from the earlier pages and it all seems so empty. I mean, spying? Really? Lots of hate everywhere, for no (to me anyway) apparent reason... All we've had in terms of playtime up to now has been a couple of weekends, but people are acting as if they've been backstabbing each other for years. I understand competition, but how much actual in-game competition has even taken place?
I guess this kind of thing is to be expected where people get so invested in a project... I'm just glad I decided to go down the casual route this time, so I can remain blissfully unaffected.

Tbh its not the spying that bothers me, its the fact that they refuse to own up to it even when caught out. That they lie to the community and attempt to drive good will towards their products through deceptive means (use of accounts that don't appear to be affiliated, when in fact they are) is what leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
|
Does anyone have some sort of list of where certain communities are going? I would like to avoid a 4chan infested server.
|
Just read an hour worth of drama... why did I even start reading it... waste of time... 4 days until the early access ;D Excitement beyond expressing... run around with my Asura and kill things... and hopefully once everyone is playing drama will die down and we will our gameplay speak for us...

if any mmo could do it though it would be GW2. There is no major raid content that feels like a job. That is the hardest part of running guilds in other MMOs. Trying to organize 25+ people 3-4x a week for many hours. I think GW2 is the perfect game for a TL based guild because..
1) you can pvp together almost instantly in sPvP 2) the pve is extremely casual and go at your own pace
So all you'd have to really organize is getting everyone on the same server. Once we're all together the casual players that want to run around and level up will do it and find mates easier and those that want to dive right into sPvP will be able to and avoid solo queueing.
I think GW2 is the perfect mix of casual/hardcore that would make a TL guild pretty enjoyable.

My friends and I have already decided to roll on Crystal Desert, so I'll be unable to create my home server with the TL guild if we are going to Ehmry, but from what I understand your home server only determines who you play WvW for and you can play as a guest on any server you want post launch so maybe I'll show up for some sPvP.
|
So we're joining the Ehmry Bay server? We should get a site going or something on enjin or some other place and have the signups/polls there. Edit: We're going to be pretty dam split lol
|
So, a question to all those a little bit more informed: is joining TLegacy actually worth it? I didn't play the original GW, and I've been busy with other games during the months leading up to the release of GW2, so I've not played the beta either, but I will get the real deal and will invest myself in it quite a bit I'm sure. At first impression, the thought of hooking up with the rest of Liquid seemed like a great idea given how the guild system works etc, but after all the drama that's been, along with the fact that I'll have other friends to play with anyway... is trying to join Legacy actually gonna accomplish what it was originally intended for? Seems like the idea has fallen apart somewhat, but I'd like to hear about the current status from people on the inside. (I mean sure you can join multiple guilds, but that's not really what I'm asking)
