That would actually be great!
Apparently you have to pay the full price upfront for the NA beta access, and I've been burned on too many MMOs to do so blindly.

There was 40 hours for free in the Japanese version of the game, just needed to register. 40 hours will easily get you 25+, meaning you get to experience the game more than enough.
The better option, if you want to just test the game, buy the beta access thing for 5€ or w/e it costs and try it out at the betas. (Better latency and you actually understand what your doing etc.)

There's been quite a couple of streams of Tera on Twitch this weekend and this game looks pretty badass. Crisp graphics. not a lot of grinding, the enviroment is pretty stunning and the boss fights... OMG the boss fights are insane. Very action oriented and from what I hear tanking and healing mechanics are the funnest of any MMO out there so there's that. Definetly will keep an eye open for this game might play it on launch.

The Korean version has a different PvP system.

I don't think PvP system is different, or if it is, shouldn't be anything major.
It's still 1v1, party vs party(you can do this anywhere, even in town), 5v5 arena, 10vs10 battlefield, and gvg right?
P.S - SUPERBOWL TIME !

How boring are the quests of this game? Also are they voice acted?

I've played both swtor, wow, and tera. But it's just more enjoyable because of free targeting system. and of all, the game just looks stunning. I find myself drooling at what I see everysingle time. Monsters look freaking awesome like they are from Lord of the rings, and some other 3d movies you've seen.
SWTOR is complete crap, compared Tera online. Leave it to Koreans to make MMOS, they have a great deal of experience in making every aspect of the game fun for their users. There are more MMO/RPG games coming out in Korea in one year than there will be in 10 years in the west.

I thought that was only on the Korean/Japanese servers because they only have one server-type, and in EU/NA we will have PvE and PvP servers so the rules would be different.
And a question for anyone who have tried the korean tera isn't the "declaration time" just 5 seconds? Is that really enough time to always dodge PvP easily?
|
If anybody has any spare beta keys, I would really appreciate it!

Sigh. I want to play this game on US servers so bad, so I can play with NA friends. I played enough JA Tera to know that it's fun enough.
I guess I'm going to need a proxy.

PvP is a major feature and it's different and a lot worse on the Korean servers. And 5 seconds is quite a bit. No one would ever get pked in WoW with a 5 second declaration.

nah in wow they just come up and beat the shit out of you

Only on pvp servers in wow. On pve you have to flag yourself to attack other flagged players. It no one flags there's no pvp.

PvE servers in WoW are just a myth. We're talking about the proper way to play both games. Flagging yourself and making declarations is not the right way to play.

We got some TL people in the closed betas right? Post your thoughts on the game if possible; I'm pretty curious. TBH I loved swtor, and if this is supposed to pwn that game, then I'm intrigued.

Flagging yourself and making declarations is not the right way to play. you had to flag in lineage 2, and look how successful the pvp system was. Although you could just go out on a rampage and pk everyone, but usually we would have 1 person flag, and then hope the other party flags back to pvp for a grind spot.

You get to play all the betas and your character doesnt wipe after each one. If you don't like it just cancel the order.

They're pretty standard MMO fare. No voice acting there, but there are story missions with cut scenes to make it a little more interesting. The combat is nice however, which makes collecting and things less dreadful than in other games. Later on there are some fairly challenging ones as well, which is actually a nice change because, well, challenge is good and also there's not enough grouping in other games these days (imo, obviously).
The 5 second thing is really not that big a deal unless you're of the surprise gank-hide brigade which, let's face it, isn't real pvp anyway. Keep in mind you have charged skills and such as well. You can still pick fights easy and yeah you can still pick uneven fights too but at least it's not *blink* "oh now I'm dead".
