but after the first night, I couldn't log in because I didn't give credit card info and select a payment schedule. I am not playing out of protest because, honestly I think it is crap. I had a lot of fun, and the GAME IS FUNDAMENTALY different than most MMO's. You have to aim and target, and your chracter has physical collison, both of which contribute heavily to making your character feel "real" in the world.
I just hate the idea of having to set up a plan and give credit card info. With all the games out there right now, and all he shit going on, I could easily forget to cancel if I need to, and get hit for 80$. I'm so sick of the gimmicks. Just give me my 30 freaking days for free, like you said, came with the purchase. So far, I'm out 4 days of gameplay, and they have yet to respond to my ticket.
Imma tell them to mail me a check for 200$, and I promise I wont cash it. I just want to know they have the money to support the servers like they should.
How would you get hit for 80 dollars for forgetting to cancel? Unless you mean that you would forget for many months.
You realize that you can enter credit card info and hit cancel right away as someone else pointed out. Also im pretty sure they have time cards for this game that you can buy, if your so worried about it, then go buy a 60 day time card and you wont even need to put in credit card information.
Honestly if your so worried about forgetting there is an easy solution while still using your credit card, subscribe put in your info and immediatly cancel it, rinse and repeat everytime your game time runs out. Seems pretty obvious to me, it sounds like your just making up excuses for yourself for whatever reason.
He wanted to play his 30 days he had THAT CAME WITH THE GAME, not setup subscriptions to PAY for ANOTHER 30 DAYS, or BUY a game card for ADDITIONAL 60 DAYS, but the game doesnt let him play without spendning more money than he was told he had to so now he CANT play it. Seems pretty obvious to me. Capslock for clarity.
every single sub based game works this way, i dont understand why people are confused all over again every time. You dont have to pay anything, they just want proof of you that you have a valid method to pay in the future. Whatever the reason for that, it must be a good one because every company does it this way.

Here's how you do it. Input credit card information. CANCEL YOUR SUB. I don't understand the confusion. As the post above me stated every single MMO does this. I've played plenty of MMO's for only the first month that comes with the game because they ended up sucking and I've never been charged 80, or any more money than I initially spent.

Hello. I didn't realize this had sparked a bit of a discussion. Here's my thing. It's happened to me before becuase, I've played a lot of MMO. Each website is different. I've done this method before. I was SURE I canceled Rift. 100% sure. I pressed the buttons, confirm, whatever. But, you can't be an expert with each sites interface. Some of them are pretty wierd.
Are you SURE you canceled that sub? You may think you've canceled, but after you've submitted your creditcard info, you may find it was different 2 months later when your credit card bill shows up.
But like I said before, after that incident, thinking about it- it's fundamentally dishonest. You should get 30 days for free for purchasing the game. That is it. To require a credit card is ridiculous. What if you don't have one and purchased the game with your money from mowing lawns? The game should fucking come with 30 days. Or a Credit-Card should be listed under the game requirements right next to internet connection.

99% of the games out there has sites that very clearly states "Canceled" when you've actually canceled and something else when it's active so it's pretty clear. I'v also done shit like that before but that was just due to me being careless.

It says "Requires paid subscription" on the box so I doubt anyone over 17 years mowing lawns would buy it and expect to pay in cash, it can't be changed to credit card required because they're adding game cards and chronoscrolls soon.
That said, there's no reason why we shouldn't be allowed to remove all the billing info.
Just finished my first groupquests today and had a lot of fun fighting BAMs. Must say I initially thought this game was pretty meh but slowly and steadily I'm growing very fond of it. So far every question I asked in the chat gave me whispers from 3-4 different people that took their time explaining in detail and some even gave me gifts after the conversation :D
would you play slayer or warrior as melee dps. I am sure i am capable of mastering the "5 star" warrior, but is it competetive with slayer dps? Warrior can also tank, but is listed as dps, so i am not sure about the design goal here and what the intended roles are. I want to play a melee dps that is fun (to get the most out of the new combat system), but also is not dragging its group down.
Warrior is kinda off-tank, worst in terms of actual DPS numbers. They're hoping to buff warriors for tanking in the future but we're not sure when that is.
Slayers are pretty broken in PvP right now but be aware that healers will hate your guts if you suck.

Someone on the last page just said that archer and berserker are worst dps, with warrior coming in behind slayer and sorcerer. Do you disagree?

Warrior does come in behind slayer and sorc. Sorc comes in far ahead of anyone in terms of dps. Warrior and slayer are pretty close but slayers should always have higher dps. Archers and zerks are always last.
i think ill just try slayer first, be on the safe side since their intended role is to dps. maybe ill make a warrior second when they changed him then, i like tanking, but the lance just looks really stupid to me.
archer are probably varying with their dps since its dependend on the players skill to stay as close as possible to the mob?
Also, what i learned from mmos, 90% of the players form their opinion based on what they read somewhere or someone told them, misunderstanding half of it, archers could be the best possible dps chars, if its getting a widespread "fact" that they are useless, people will never accept an archer, even if he would singlehandedly carry his group.
is sorc really that far ahead? Or is it just that people see big numbers? In the other korean-western game Aion, the sorc was one of the best, too. Curious.
Sorcs have a lot of DoT spells that do damage comparable to regular swings, that they just upkeep while they unload really big spells. They're pretty far ahead against any stationary target.

They really are that far ahead, especially when they hit 48. You will clear mobs ridiculously fast if you have a sorc in your group. Especially if you can grab up a shitload of mobs and have the sorc aoe with celerity.
As someone who has completed hard modes already (page 123 for screenshot) and has grouped with them, warriors are NOT low on dps. Either warrior or slayer will be able to do competitive damage. Slayers are easier to lvl than warriors since a lot of their attacks can knock enemies down.
Sorcs only have 1 significant "dot" spell and thats hail storm- ground target aoe. Painblast dot and burning breath dot do not scale with gear so burning breath is not worth using in pve with better gear. Painblast dot is only a small portion of its total damage.
Sorc dmg is very good. As with all classes, better players will do more damage.
this made me interested in the warrior, i think ill play him when i get the game tomorrow. Not too interested in casters after kiting in diablo 3 all day long.
I wanted to also add in some info about warriors and slayers. Slayers lvl faster than warriors. Slayers also take significantly less damage while leveling than warriors. We're talking 83% more damage taken for warriors. Keep this in mind because you will be bandaging often or wasting more time dodging.
finally decided to ditch my mystic at 56... fuck that class.
so many broken skills, boring mechanics and frustrations, feels like you're getting weaker instead of more useful while leveling, both inside and outside dungeons. (always played and enjoyed healer roles in mmo's btw)
On the brighter side, really enjoying my pimped out archer, even tough his aoe kinda sucks I like its mechanics, would have been even more perfect if mobs had weak spots you could aim for for more dps
