Thats with only one DPS not on the ball as well. There are also other bosses that have self stacking mechanics, eventually you wont be able to heal through it. And some bosses have enrage timers where they just wipe the floor or blow everything up.
Check out the end. This is with ideal group composition and people with a lot of experience with the game, in Korea. When the screen goes black there is an instant kill and they were seconds from it.
And atm the favored group composition is Lancer, Warrior, Sorc, Slayer, Priest or Mystic (often Priest). You can drop a DPS for a Berserker or Archer but generally if both an Archer AND and Berserker are in the same group many bosses the Koreans wont even attempt. You would have to really trust both to bring both in.
Does it make sense to have 2 sorcs in the endgame instead of a warrior or slayer? Or 3 sorcs? I mean burst damage from sorcs is so high with FB and VP and I can imagine that with celerity up it would be even higher after 48.
Koreans say that warrior/sorc/slayers is "highest" dps. I can't really believe in what they say since there is no real evidence, i.e combat log parses/dps meters to say so. I'd imagine they are either going on feeling, or that there's a implementation of the ACT dps meter or something over on the k-tera servers.
Warriors are needed because they have an additional endurance debuff which allows the rest of the dps/tank to do more damage on the target so 3 sorcs are out of the question. I'm not sure why koreans think slayers are preferred over another sorc, perhaps to balance out the loot?

I guess. Thats hella loot competition though. Also the finder would never give you such a group.

You can make reasonable guesses based on time and experience. Obviously if its close its up in the air but atm Sorc is kinda far ahead of everything else at the end of the game. Slayers can put out some gnarly damage with throatcut or measured slice or whatever its called in the west.
Also a Slayer can do a couple things sorcs can't with evasive roll and the like.
Honestly if I hadn't already lvl'd my sorc during OBT I would have rolled a warrior after watching that awesome video. Sorcs are a lot of fun, but warrior seems amazing. Now I understand that this guy is really really good and most warriors I have seen are not, and I can't imagine I'd be great at it either. I think warriors are for people with really high APM and a lot of dexterity. Sorcs are for lazy people like me who play with very high mouse speed and a nostromo.

am I missing something? Because so far it's boring as shit
I feel like you should stop playing MMOs. No matter what game you play, no matter how they change it, you will always be killing X number of monsters for some reason or other. You will always be clicking things, and you will always have a boss to fight. The reasoning cannot make that much of a difference in a game you expect to play for years at a time. Just because quest hubs are involved does not change the gameplay, which is usually the fun part.
That brings us to TERA. The combat system in TERA is something completely different from your standard EQ style MMO like WoW or TOR or any of the other recent attempts at the MMO style. Having an action combat style makes it much more engaging for most people. Rather than spamming 1 1 1 2 3 1 1 4, etc. and letting RNG handle the rest you have to apply yourself in a way similar to an FPS, or TPS at least, in a fantasy setting rather than modern or futuristic (with guns). Being able to actively control your accuracy as well as increasing the significance of positioning/mobility beyond "don't stand in the fire" means there is a higher reliance on skill.
Also, a more personal reason, is the whole artistic design of the game. It has some amazing environments and I really enjoy the direction the art team has taken. This is completely subjective, so I'm not going to go into the specific details and such, but its definitely one of the major draws to the game for me.
How many of you here, are playing on Jagged Coast? Do any of you from the three populated PvP servers intend on transfering to the new one, Feral Valley?
The major issue for me is the lack of DPS meter in the game.. its like a step backward and makes it very hard to diagnose problems / improve in play. Optimizing DPS *while* controlling for accuracy and positioning should be important in a "skill-driven" game. In its absence, the game feels a lot more like Diablo, Vindictus, or some other hack/slash adventure game with a few MMO elements thrown in for increased grind.

I play on jagged coast. In a guild of almost 200. None of us are transferring.

I'd like to extend this question to the Valley of Titans players, or rather all TERA players. Is the official home of TL going to move when transfers become available due to VoT population issues or is the plan to stay and see if enough other people move?

Keep in mind much of the queue issues are from all the extra head start codes given out. We should take a wait and see approach instead of questioning trying to organize every tl member to move servers.
