because it will be the match of the century of teams sucking.
No, the AFC East plays the NFC North.

Roger Goodell needs to institute a mercy rule.
This is uncomfortable for both teams, the fans, the refs, and the viewers at home.

Bye Wade Phillips!

WOO! I'm up by 14 and he has Chad Johnson to go.. it's not over, but I feel good about my chances.
As to real football, I elected to skip the game tonight, and I'm pretty happy about that decision after viewing the final score.

Dallas is pathetic, they don't even try anymore. I'm a Bills fan, sure my team is 0-8, but they are busting their ass every week. Sooner or later they will a few games.
But man, Dallas. All that talent going to waste.

Yeah, the Bills have been winning me over.

"Could a stunning victory by the Vikings cure what's been ailing Minnesota? Or is Week 9 not to be trusted?"
Beating the abysmal cardinals is a "stunning victory"?

Yeah, they're overexaggerating. Cardinals are so baed. Perhaps the only teams worse than them are the Panthers and the Cowboys. I'd take the Bills, Lions, even the Niners over them.

It was in stunning fashion. They came back from 14 with 3:38 left in the game to force OT, and then won in OT. So, it wasn't just the W, but how they got the W.

It's not just because he's skilled, but because he seems like he's always having the most fun on the field. Makes it that much more enjoyable for me to watch.
Aaron Rodgers is strongly connected to some memories of mine (he became the QB at the time I was in GB, and thinking of GB always upsets me now; thus, thinking of Aaron Rodgers upsets me), so I wish nothing but misfortune to come his way throughout his NFL career. I'd say I most probably dislike the Packers more than I ever disliked the Patriots, or the Steelers.
On a side note, I can't believe no one with a weak WR corps wants to take Dez, and Steve Johnson off my hands for their second HB. It's unreal. These guys are putting up big numbers every week, and no one will take them. I'm pretty sure Reggie Wayne is riding the fucking pine next week. I am so fucking sick of watching Peyton throw to all the other receivers in the red zone (and everywhere) this season. It's just like the Saints.

This season has been extremely crazy. I'm in a "pick em" league, and I'm somehow in first place. Probably pure luck because trying to pick who's going to win from week to week this season has been ridiculous. I'm a huge Saints fan though so it's good to see that they aren't having TOO much of a superbowl hangover, seeing as they're 6-3 and beat the Steelers last week. I'm also a Texans fan though and watching them blow a pretty big lead to the Chargers was pretty upsetting
No idea who is the best team in the league right now.. I would probably have to say the Ravens.. but honestly I have no idea.

NFC: Let’s start with the Giants; they get my vote for NFC supreme. They've murdered teams since doubters began doubting them. The defense is annihilating quarterbacks this season, and the offense is running the opposition into the ground. To top it all off, Eli stopped making terrible decisions that constantly put his team in awful positions.
The Saints struggles are well documented; they are suffering a bit from a hangover… we’ve all been there before. The last couple weeks makes one wonder if they have eaten enough greasy food, and drank enough Gatorade to move on with their day. They beat the Steelers last week—the team many touted as the number one team in the NFL—and they did so fairly convincingly. The game wasn’t quite what we came to expect of them in the 2009 season, but it was a good win against a tough opponent. This week, they came out and did exactly what a good team is supposed to do to a bad team: beat them mercilessly. Certainly, it is impossible to predict what the future holds, but should they continue to play this way for the rest of the season, it would not be the surprising to see them playing for the big one again.
The Falcons are an interesting team. They're a sometimes team to me, though. Sometimes they're great, sometimes they aren't. I just don't know what to think of this team yet. Their defense doesn't “wow” me, but their offense sometimes does. They are certainly a good team, but I don’t believe they really have what it takes to make a legitimate Super Bowl run this season.
The Packers are kind of like the Falcons, except their D is possibly better. Another team that's hard to get a read on, and personal bias greatly affects my ability to judge this team properly. I don't see them competing with the Giants, but if any team’s offense could do it, I would tend to think it’s this team’s offense.
Chicago and Tampa Bay are talked about, occasionally, in this discussion. I don’t believe either one of them merits such discussion, except, perhaps, just how in the world the Bears have a winning record at the moment. I know that most Bears fans are not happy about the idea of Lovie Smith returning for another season. Further, it must be stated that Raheem Brock is doing a marvelous job in Tampa. He has brought Josh Freeman along excellently, and taken a team that was a free-win a year ago, to a tough opponent for any team. For that, they deserve some credit; otherwise, they’re not good enough.

AFC: The AFC is up for grabs. Currently, the Steelers are probably the best, most consistent team. Then they drop a game to the Saints when everyone thinks the Saints are done. That loss can’t be held against them too greatly, though; the Saints are down a bit right now, but they're still supremely talented, and they are showing signs of improvement in their attitude towards the game. The Steelers defense is one of the best in the league, and their offense can be explosive at times. Ben’s size gives him abilities that other quarterbacks lack (namely being able to get hit a lot, and not get sacked), and Mendenhall brings legitimacy to a running game that seemed to be fading into the forgotten memories of the past, just a few short years ago. Despite their recent loss, it is my belief that the Steelers are the best team in the AFC. I don't think the Ravens have what it takes to compete with the other best teams on a regular basis. I really don't trust Flacco against a good defense: especially not if they apply pressure. He rips apart bad teams, and that's good, but he struggles more than he should against good defenses; though I don't expect any QB to cut up the Jets, or Steelers, the two good teams he has played this year. There is just something about that team that I can't believe in right now.
The Jets are the same story as the Ravens, but doubled. I really don't think Sanchez has what it takes to beat a good defense down the stretch. What he did this week was nice versus the Lions, but come on... it's the Lions. And, from what I understand, there were some questionable calls and penalties that helped him greatly (I did not see the game). Still, I don't want to take too much from his performance this week (I do, actually, but I won't, because I don't want to be too negative overall). Instead, I’ll say he came through in a big way when his team needed him. Until I see more play like that against good defenses, the story remains the same. On the other hand, their running game, and their defense is the absolute truth.
The Browns just wrecked New England. The Patriots need at least two quality wins after this before they're even close to this conversation, in my opinion.
The Colts are such an odd team to watch this season. On one hand, Peyton Manning could take a stock-boy at the local grocery store and turn him into an NFL wide receiver, it seems. He’s throwing to guys that no one has ever heard of before, and sometimes that shows. I wonder if he even knows some of their names yet (he probably does, he probably studied flash cards, and photographs to make sure he got it right). The defense is not good, that’s obvious. The offense is stuttering; it’s not the same, crisp offense that we saw last year, despite that Peyton’s numbers are better than they were the previous season. There are so many dropped passes from the offense; it feels like we’re watching the Browns circa 2008. Right now, the Colts are a team riddled with injuries, and that is really beginning to show in their play. Still, with number 18 throwing the ball, I don’t think you can count them out. This holds especially true in an historically weak NFL.
(Separated into two posts because of the length. 580 words... I write entirely too much in this thread. Still, at least I contribute unlike people who come just to say "RENAME THE THREAD! LZOL!" Seriously, I hope this is enough writing for you damn whiners saying not enough real football talk is done in this thread.)

Titans will start needing consideration soon. I do not think they lose out to Baltimore in any way. The big question is, how will Randy Moss approach the rest of the season with them? If he plays how he should play, the Titans are a legit threat. Their defense is solid, their run game is solid, and their pass game will be solid.

Yeah, there definitely were some pretty questionable calls in that game. >.>

rofl sweetlemons i know you hate the eagles, but how do you mention the BEARS and the BUCS over them come on

Being a Giants fan, the team i fear the most at this point is the Eagles since they still have to play them twice before the end of the season. I think Philadelphia's defense was decent versus the Colts, by consistently putting pressure on the quarterback. Their offense is scary with many dynamic and speedy players such as jackson, mccoy, and vick. Philadelphia's offense will be the biggest challenge for the Giants defense for the rest of the regular season. With Green Bay coming to a close second.
