Nights are as long as days, yes. Monsters (not just the skeleton archers) can spawn at night on any dark patch of ground that is within a certain radius of you. If you find they detract from your experience, you can turn the difficulty down to "Peaceful" which removes monsters altogether and regenerates your health, though I think that'd be pretty boring.

yeah, just needed to go mine the metal stuff for a quick sword before night came on my first day, and night isnt so bad when u spend the time remaking your house. archers are hard though.

Let them burn in the morning or make a bow to kill them from distance. I hate spiders more, because they wont disapear in the morning...

Not sure why people have problems here. I haven't got a paypal account, and was able to buy the game by simply entering my name, visa and such after clicking the paypal thing. If you haven't tried, go for it.

Of course, it might be a regional thing, north america v. europe.

I bought this a few days ago. It seems like so much fun, except I'd love for the TL server to be up consistently. The public servers aren't what I expect. A normal minecraft game, but with many people would be awesome with TL members.

You don't need to deposit anything in your PayPal account. You can just enter your credit card into Pay Pal and use it as a medium to pay through. Not even sure if you need an account for that too.

EDIT: I would like to host a server for TL, but I turn my computer off at night so it'd only be on at certain times of the day. Also, I have no knowledge on how a lot of connections to the server would effect my connection. I can experiment in the coming week so we at least have some sort of server up.

Or if someone would like to contribute or donate a dedicated server...=D

Problems with paypal are numerous, guess im just going to have fork over my bank statement to get my account unlocked (accessing it from china made them shit all over my account, lack of 'im on holiday FTL').

But while I'm debating I've been looking at the guides, our very own shinding's guide a page back is great but the best I've found is video a, starting on your first day (yay for lazy)

woot i found a mob spawner with those green mossy stones. I was getting pissed cuz i couldnt find a deep cave for the life of me (needed more iron), and all of a sudden I find 2 gynormous ones that I got completely lost in, found diamonds, lotsa gold, iron, the works.
