Letting a supposedly inferior bench keep a 10 point lead is something to be concerned about, especially when the Suns did make a move, they responded.

Ditto. Of all things the Lakers bench not giving up the lead was the biggest surprise to me. They might finally be playing with a chip on their shoulder with all the crap they've been getting the last two rounds (and a good chunk of the regular season).

Lopez had a great game though, Frye was just way off. They definitely need to get JRich going sooner, but honestly, you'd need to play nearly perfect to stop the Lakers when Odom and Kobe are playing at that level.

J-Rich isn't going to start any hotter than he did in Game 1, Gentry or Rich both need to make (counter-)adjustments.

What? He took 3 shots in the first quarter and 1 in the second. He nailed two ridiculous 3s and then disappeared until the second half.

Frye was thoroughly useless, as he can be, on the road.
Odom was huge off the bench, with the poor defense and whatnot on him. I expect a much better showing in Game 2, with Lopez much more warmed up now and better 3 point shooting from Phoenix.

Sooner or later Frye's gonna hit those outside shots, which scares me. Lakers didn't really do a great job closing on the shooters, they were just missing wide open shots. I agree with you, Lakers are gonna have a much harder time as the series drags on.

Whats all this bench fuss about? lakers do fine without kobe and everyone keeps forgetting that

They weren't missing wide open shots, they were noticeably hurrying their shots. Lopez's baskets were more due to help defense than him creating anything. Unless Amare reinvents himself as a defender, it won't matter, because whatever LO wanted off the top of the key, he got.

surprise surprise channing frye sucks ~

Lakers will win! I cheer for them and Kobe.
But really, looking at the MU on each position and the size advantage lakers have, the chance of suns winning in a BO7 is small. And Kobe is dominating again, looks like he is more healthy now then the end of the regular season! Which is making it even more difficult for the suns!

lakers is too strong right now. kobe can still play a beastly game even with an inferior team (see 2006 season for instance), and now that he has the twin towers and good shooters with him, they look like theyre gonna win again this year
that said, im still rooting for the suns. they have a versatile team and a bench that can score. id hate for nash to become another one of the greats without a championship

Turner to the Wiz? Plz? Not another PG?
Edit: Nyargh whatever, with our luck we'll end up with Kwame Brown #2 anyways, one way or another.

I just rewatched the game and they had TONS of wide open looks that they didn't connect on.

Yeah the Suns were missing open shots, especially Frye. The Suns played well pushing the ball for the first 8 minutes. After that, they just...stopped. Watch for Frye and JRich in Game 2. I think the Suns are gonna have a great 2nd and 3rd quarters and take Game 2.

1. Washington Wizards 2. Philadelphia 76ers 3. New Jersey Nets

Is Dwight Howard not able to jump off one foot? He has to gather so long on two feet that defenders have time to hack at him.
