The problem with the Cavs is that Lebron is the only leader. If Lebron plays bad, the Cavs aren't likely to win (at least not against great teams). The Cavs got amazing players and their bench is very good. But there is no other superstar in that team to lead.

Mo Williams -- has barely improved since he played for the Bucks. Can't deliver under pressure. Shaq -- a great player in his day, but he's been well and truly past it for a while now. Jamison -- good on his day, but still lacks consistency in his game imo. Anthony Parker -- horrible. If you take the other teams that are left right now (Suns, Lakers, Celts, Magic) they all have far superior teams. I mean compare it to a team like the Lakers and they pretty much cover the Cavs in every position but SF. Yeah the Cavs may spend big on their cap, but they aren't getting value for money.

as for titles and lebron. usually when a player doesn't win, he is underrated, as winning leads to overrating of the star players on the winning team. so the popularity of lebron is probably lower than his actual level of play. nowhere is this more evident than in new york, where people still, by a good majority, think kobe is better. obvious bandwagoning, but also very irritating. bandwagoners rooting for the player that the knicks can't get over a guy that is the hope of the franchise. get real people hopefully lebron realizes that the cleveland management is fail and take his talents to the lolknicks.

These Cavs don't, while they don't feel like the past few years Detroit who regressed, they play like a better version of the 06-07 Lakers, needing Lebron to do everything much like the Lakers needed Kobe to do everything. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be an end in sight for the Cavs organization and Lebron is becoming more delusional by the season. Did anyone catch his post-game conference? How many NBA champs and MVPs deflected questions about his performance like he did with his I-am-fucking-untouchable-from-criticism-bullshit? On top of the fact that Lebron probably won't get on the rest of his team to step up in the next practice like Kobe/MJ would.

This game, after all the extreme reactions against him by people in the media (people talking about his elbow more than his game, etc), the fact that Kobe Bryant is playing with a broken finger, injured ankle and knee, and is still winning with ease, and the fact that the talk about his free agency action has resurfaced while he's still playing... There's just that much to motivate him now. That being said, he can't win the series alone. On May 12 2010 21:45 RowdierBob wrote: I still maintain the Cavs are a fairly scrub team + LeBron. Williams is a point guard in a system where the ball is handled by the SF. The fact that he's improved from his Bucks days is amazing considering that. Shaq is past his prime, but his presence and sheer mass still make him one of the better centers in the league. Jamison is a great player as a third offensive option, being used more to spread the floor than anything else, he can't get into a rhythm from that position. Anthony Parker is a solid role-player, not a star. If anything, he makes the most sense out of anyone in the lineup other than LBJ considering Mike Brown's "game plan". + Show Spoiler + Actually, this old web-comic explains Mike Brown's philosophy best. ![]()
