So I started playing White and this game is fucking amazing. Thanks for telling me to play this over Platinum. Perhaps some of my problems from Soul Silver was that I didn't try to complete my Pokedex and only caught like 30 Pokemon by the end of the game. And believe it or not, putting the text on medium instead of fast somehow makes the game more enjoyable as well as not using the bike all the time. I probably won't be doing a lot of competitive battling on the DS, and will probably get to Pokemon Online eventually. I doubt I'd want to waste time breeding, IV breeding, EV training, and leveling. And I for sure am not going to waste hours resetting just to get the right stats of a one off Pokemon. I change my team all the time, so it would be frustrating doing all that for one Pokemon just to rotate it out in a week. Just wanted to know what everyone's opinion on Pokesav'ing is. I only played one wifi battle in my life and that was with a friend that I knew in real life and we both used Pokesav. I know most would say just play PO if you want perfect stats, but sometimes I just want to battle with animations, you know? It should be fine if I tell my opponent before hand and s/he agrees, right? | ||

PokeSav is somewhat equal to RNG in the fact that it boarders on many peoples "it's the same as cheating!1!!!1one!1" mental state... However, for those of us that do competitive battling, PokeSav is just as legit as RNG because if you do it (Pokesav) the right way, it's the same as LEGIT POKEMON, since they are not caught by the hack checkers at the VGC, iirc. RNG'd Pokes are not caught either since they are 100% legit bred/caught through the game. | ||

im not sure if pokemon white or soulsilver i really liked jotho, but competitive pokemon sounds really fun i dont know any pokemon in white/black though so few question: 1. if i want best competitive pokemon experience, which game i get(ss, or w) 2. i want to get it on DS(compare to emu), i only have ghetto type ds(first model). is there competive pokemon for that? (i had ds along time, but gave up on it for internet games) i want to get back into it 3.is there soulsilver vs white gaming or just black/white v black/white? 4. which game has best endgame and solo content? | ||

As far as in-game selection goes, White is easier on you for getting better stuff without trading. 2) Yeah, DS works just fine. The only things that won't work are the infrared stuff that was introduced in the later models. 3) There is no backwards compatibility for battling, you can only ship your old pokes onto your new game. 4) They are both EXACTLY the same except for about 15 pokemon in different areas, 3 different legendaries, and one different zone. It's mostly personal preference as you can trade for the rest. Like I said, White is going to be easier leveling and catching some of the better pokes for competition, but you'll still have to trade with Black eventually. | ||
