Also feels really easy. Sawk and the fire starter are just dominating everyone
Yea, with those pokemon it'll be easy early on.

It's the same in both games as far as I know. You can buy them from Black City and White Forest has the items free but they spawn randomly.

Anybody else feel like the pokemon all have slightly complex/harder names to pronounce than previous pokemon? Every time I'm trying to read these pokemon's names outloud, it just doesnt sound right or it doesn't roll off the tongue like it should. :S
Maybe I'm just crazy lol.

Trading and battling is cross-region, I did it back on Platinum except for Korea They replace the moves pretty arbitrarily. Don't put Pokemon in the Daycare Center if you intend to actually use them. It may fuck up their moveset and EVs. Edit: Now that your TMs don't break, I actually use them. Why didn't they do this before This is false...
The moves are replaced from top to bottom so if your pokemon has say:
1) Tackle 2) Tail whip 3) Leer 4) Quick attack
In the daycare, you let your pokemon level up 4 times and it learns bite, the move list would look like
5) Bite 2) tail whip 3) Leer 4) Quick Attack
If you leave the pokemon in longer, and it learns agility, then the move list would look like
5) Bite 6) Agility 3) Leer 4) Quick Attack
etc, etc, etc...
Now, as per EVs... the pokemon does not gain EVs when in the daycare... if you leave it in from lvl 1 to lvl 100 the pokemon will have 0 EVs at all.
If your pokemon has say 252/252/4/0/0/0 as it's EVs then it will come out the daycare at lvl 100 with 252/252/4/0/0/0

Wow, OK, so Darumaka replaces fire starter. FUUUU
Which starter is actually good for endgame.

I gave up on EVs since Platinum lol, just too much work. Don't get me started on IVs

I think they added natures to kind of replace IVs for casual players that still wanted to optimize their pokemon. I remember capturing about 10-15 of a pokemon I wanted to train and then only training the one with the best IV - this suddenly became pointless with the introduction of natures.
I'm kind of torn on difficulty, though. I really think you enjoy the game a lot more if you have to level your pokemon a little bit before every gym: it gives you a feeling you are actually training your pokemon as a fighting team, and it forces you to put some thought into the gyms. I just don't see how they can do so though without adding difficulty modes, since it's still a very popular game for young crowds.

Yeah, I mean, when I got to Nacrene(sp), my team was all level 12. Now I'm grinding them to 17. Hopefully that's enough >.<
Edit: Also, got Servine. o/

Ironically enough, the second gym leader is like the first black character ever in Pokemon.
