I ended up being 1-4-1 to start a game (~15 mins) and I didn't even feel like I was doing anything wrong. Too many jumper heroes :| | ||

When I play Jax there is ALWAYS a Trist on the other team (which really fucks you up late-game). When I play Twitch there is ALWAYS a Jax on the other team and that makes you @#$@#$ing rage. But that game there was a Jax Shen Ez, which isn't even really rare. But it was like *unstealth* HI GUYS *3 guys jump at me and instadead* BYE GUYS! | ||

Jesus Christ, Pantheon is fucking terrible without spells and you're talking about how he's good vs. Fiddle? the fuck are you smoking? do you not get points in dark wind? cause seriously, you just bounce crows around and Pantheon is worthless. Yes, it's a counter solomid early game, but that's Pantheon vs. anyone other than Kat or Karthus for ya. In teamfights, Fiddle fucking rapes Pantheon sideways. You don't counter the jump with fear, you counter it with crow, cause his fucking heartseeker still goes off and goes on cool down, but it doesn't do any damage. Silence vs. Heartseeker is pretty much the most demoralizing thing in the game. And hey, they both work anyway, so you can still just make him useless most of the time with dark wind and if you fuck up horrendously, you still win by fearing him. CC vs. Pantheon is a goddamn nightmare. | ||

Nidalee/Shen(jungle)/Ezreal/Ashe/Soraka We lost in 25:06 and it didn't even feel like we were doing anything wrong, we just couldn't stop that shit. It just... ended. Edit: Probably what frustrates me the most right now is that... I try really hard not to mind people playing "underpowered" heroes, or heroes that are "different" (ie. Gangplank, AP Yi) that don't necessarily suck or anything. But it's INCREDIBLY difficult lining up a proper setup, and figuring out tactics etc. when running abnormal stuff. Like, I'm sure AP Yi is quite strong. Hotshot loves it, evidently. But you have to run a build AROUND AP Yi because he has such shitty synergy with most heroes. Like you need a crapton of disables and burst nukers so that when he uses Alpha, you can keep the enemies in the area, while nuking one down so HL resets CD, etc. So you end up needing shit like Amumu and Veigar (lol!) with their massive AoE snares for it to really work. Because AP Yi doesn't do anything except kill heroes, and not even particularly well at that (he's just really hard to kill himself). But it's really obvious when a team sets up a real team, like WW Shen Ashe Ez Soraka, because they just steamroll you 5v5 right up in ~25 minutes, because as much as mobility has been buffed, a strong team will still roll your face by forcing a teamfight and kicking your ass. It's still the strongest strat. Beyond that most of my frustration the past few days has come from the fact that I've been finding it bizarrely easier to set up teamfights and team pushes while solo queue than when premading with people I've been playing with for weeks. It's mind-boggling and really annoying. | ||

THEN you have to learn how the character interacts with the others - who he lanes well with/against, who to watch out for, when you can towerdive, when you have to go back to heal, and so on. These are the people who you watch and are amazed by as they turn around and burst someone down from half health or kite someone around, wearing them down until they have to run. THEN you have to learn how to be a team player. That's the hardest one, especially since you have to sort-of-relearn it if you play with different people. These are the pros, the people who win games. You hear Southlight talking about "messing up calls" or making bad decisions occasionally, and this is that. This is metagame, this is decision-making, this is map awareness, this is knowing where to be and when. Support heroes are mostly about learning this, IMO. | ||
