Edit: So I gave in and decided to play it during MSL. It's pretty sweet. Unfortunately I'll need some time to get used to the timing of the freeze mechanic down, just like with StB. I like it a lot better than StB/DS though, just because it feels much more "comprehensive", and not just a series of mini-games. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to listen to the music yet because, well, I'm still streaming MSL, but ZUN's music is always superb so :3

I'm loving it right now. I'm trying to clear it on all routes on medium difficulty, and it's hard.
But once you understand the patterns, they are (almost) always the same, no matter the route you take.
I hope the EX mode will be fun, if I'd knew how to unlock it... :D

Almost certain that it's just completing a run on any path without continues. That's how it's always been.

Oh god, please help me.
I mean I'm wiping at the beginning of level 3 each time. It's not even funny...
I'll try clearing the two last paths anyway. :D
EDIT : FINALLY cleared one path with 1 CC on normal.
But I guess I should clear ALL with 1 CC to have the extra mode. Oh my. I'm dying right now. :D
When you understand the patterns, the game becomes a lot simple.

I like the system but the controls are going to take a while to get used to. Awesome music as always.
Also, this game is f'ing hard.

Sunnymilk is pretty ridiculous O_O Her bullets are stupidly fast wow.
Also, there should be a ridiculous number of spell cards in this game.
4 difficulties x 3 paths x 3 bosses x ~3 spell cards each + 4 difficulties x 3 paths x 3 midbosses x ~1 spell card each + however many extra stage cards there are. 144 + Extra... And that's a rather conservative estimate lol O_o

Yeah, but the spellcards are all almost the same ! What changes is if there's light bullets or fire bullets added to the mix.
And it pretty much changes it all. And that's freakin fun. Second run 1 CC (a CLOSE one, the last card is pretty easy, but the one before is pretty much impossible... If I go for a timeout it's horrible, and hitting the boss is... THEY MOVE SO FAST O_O).
I think I'm getting the hang of this !

Haven't played any of them in a while, found this one to be really fun and challenging.
Currently working on freeze timing, it seems I'm sometimes 0.3 seconds too late with the freeze and get myself killed unneccesarily.

'kay, wipe for a 1CC run on A2 on the last spellcard while they were dying.
... I'm really crying right now. Hard couldn't describe it, it's... Unfair !

Wow, this freeze-the-bullet mechanic looks COOL. =D I think it's a great idea. I like the circular lifebars, too: seems easier to glance at than having to look all the way at the top of the screen.

I am so awful at Touhou, i think it was u Mystlord who came in on my stream one day and said something like "real men play Touhou on lunatic with no continues"- Give me a break I can't even clear the game on Easy lol.

Zun has magnificently lost his mind. But it is fun as bullet hell to play XD! Even on normal I'm struggling :D.

This game is amazingly fun. The bullet freezing mechanics are extremely sweet.
I love it, brb playing some more.

At first I was being stubborn and didn't like the "use the c or ctrl button to rapid fire instead of spamming z" method but my ring finger is hurting from constant z spamming and now I love the c button.

Oh man, I know bjwdestroyer in RL. I'll ask him about this game later. Knowing him, he'll either 1cc lunatic, or not play at all since he seems to have lost interest in Touhou in general. On a smaller note, I 1cced 2 routes on easy.

Someone want to help explain the controls? Seen touhous before and epic failing on figuring it out I've got the whole powering up your weapon with Z down and finally figured out the bomb counter and C being rapid fire but the slow and pause buttons I can't seem to find o.o I'm pretty bad can't even beat route 1 on easy keep getting stopped up by fighting all 3 of them at the end T.T probably would help to know how to use the other two controls though.
