It's sad but stephano lost, theres nothing else to add.

Talking about good things have my personal little track or the player winning most prize moeny/most successful player of 2012 become more interesting then ever. It will all be decided now in the coming few weeks, sense the results of WCS has made it stupid close between the top 3! 1: Parting 130,599$ 2: Stephano 130495$ 3: DRG 130348$ Almost a full year of brutal competition and top 3 end up within 250$!? ^.^ Then there is some wildcards for the title to. 4: MC 119000$. If he takes IEM Singapore he could still be the one coming out on top. 5: Rain 86000$. Crazy good but as far as I know he will not attend any of the final major tournaments in 2012. 8: Creator 75000$. Unlikely but not impossible, he is in stupid form and will have to possibility to win both GSL and IPL. I still think Stephano will take it, looking at his average performance and the stupid amount of tournaments he is attending the title should still be his. Despite a soso WCS final.

I tried to compare his recent games, tournaments and even ladder play to how he played before and the difference is staggering. I still like him and all but I won't be hoping for a DH first place or IPL top 5-6 because that just won't happen.

Trust me, he will surprise you and finish either 2nd or 1st at DH and he will finish high at IPL5 (not saying first since last IPL's player field was just too good)

I hate to be negative (although I have been fairly negative lately) but I kind of agree. He played a close set with Bomber, who has been getting destroyed lately by top zergs. After watching LIfe, Leenock and Hyun play v t, it's hard to believe Stephano didn't stomp bomber into the ground. Criticisms like this only make sense when you assume Stephano is a top 3 zerg, a view I had been pushing for quite some time, but he hasn't been looking like one lately. The quality of his play does seem to have slipped a bit even if he generally continues to win. I attribute this partly to an incredibly difficult travel schedule, which must make training very difficult because he's always on the go. But where there is a will there's a way and if Stephano wanted to practice regularly, he could make it happen. Although Stephano maintains an amazingly high level of play despite not practicing, there's no way he can get better if he doesn't practice, and it saddens me to think that he may have peaked.

He won LSC2, don't be so negative :p. As for WCS finals, he just had a bad weekend. Trust me, he will place high at DH Winter

Why wouldn't LSC count? That tournament was pretty damn stacked, Bomber played amazing in it (TvZ included), and beating him (and 2-0-ing every single opponent before that) was a huge accomplishment. How can you be so sure? Violet was playing great, but he didn't look particularly strong in the second series vs Crank (Cranks PvZ is apparently good enough to beat Violet, but not Stephano). Also, I'm not sure why I have to tell you this, but every single tournament involves an element of luck concerning which opponents you will face. That applies to everyone. It's nothing new. I don't mean to be rude to anyone in particular, but I think this might just be the most demanding fanclub I've ever visited. You're not happy with your favourite player beating top Koreans and winning tournaments, because he struggled too much in the finals? What? The same thing happened several months ago. Some guy came in and started complaining about how Stephano was playing bad ("I compared his games now to how he used to play, he's playing like crap now blah blah you can see his mechanics are worse blah blah") and would never win a major tournament again. Then he won the NASL, right after. I mean, I'm not a huge Stephano-fan, but even I can tell that he's an amazing player, and he deserves not to be declared dead after one lackluster WCS performance where he lost in his worst MU after beating HerO, and then lost in the rematch. All players make bad runs every now and then. Have a little faith, will ya? ![]() EDITED; he didn't lose to two Zergs at WCS, my bad.

Since joining such a professional structure as EG, he is clearly having mental difficulties: too much responsability and pressure, with the reddit drama catalysing these burdens. And our attitude is not helping him either. The problem isn't that he is not training (and anyway who knows he isn't? I've heard he prepared a lot for LSC2) neither streaming. The problem is that he's not enjoying himself anymore or as much as before. As fans we shouldn't putt pressure on him to train or to win tournaments, we shouldn't complain about his attitude or his performance. We should send him love and showing him that we still have faith in him, so that he regains his confidence. Stephano, you are still an amazing player and I still enjoy watching you play. I'm sure you'll do better in the next tournaments. I'll just ask you one thing: enjoy your time as a SC2 pro-gamer and stop putting so much pressure on yourself! Edit: by the way, I totally agree with RaZorwire
