IPL5 is the most stacked tournament ever, look at that lineup. That one will unquestionably crown the best player in the world since its kinda merged with GSL as well and not *cough* Parting *cough*
My prediction for stephano would be a barely top 10 in there. DH is easier for him to place high since its still mostly filled with europeans but I really don't see him win it.
@menden I think you are right. I believe he is quite affected by the rabid mass of stephano haters that developed in the community. He used not to care at all before but after seeing the stuff that happened lately and how much a bunch of random idiots can affect his life directly. His sense of freedom was damaged and his sense of being himself threatened as well. The sad part is that he notices more or gives more attention in a way to the haters and is not that much aware of how many people actually root for him and support him, I remember at LSC in a short interview after he won a match, he looked sad even after winning that series and said something in the lines of "I want my fans to show me their love and support" after he was asked if he has any message to his fans. He looked like felt so alone and abandoned or at least thats how I perceived it.

GoGo Stephano, love your play. Fuck WCS, you will just crush everyone in one of the next tournaments, i´m sure !
Always rooting for you!

more you are popular, more you attract haters, nothing new, but i admit that hate comment are more effective on a player's mind than positive comments
at this point stephano is the only one who can correctly deal with this, i hope that he will consider that a ton of people cheer for him
btw according to his performance in the WCS, sure we are disappointed but saying that we are not is a lie, but i have no doubt about his future result : when you are in the top 3 in term of earning in the year, i guess it's beacause you are good

Takes roughly 5 positive comments to weigh out 1 negative comment in a person's psyche. Not that it can't be overcome, but it's a mountain, particularly since people tend to be more vocal about their dislikes than their likes.
Stephano,
We, your fans, know you're the best. Because you CAN win, and you do when it counts. GL man. Never in a million years would I have thought I'd be cheering for a Frenchman

Stephano will win DH winter by beating HerO in the final, calling it now.
|
The problem is that he's not enjoying himself anymore or as much as before.
My opinion too.
his last interview, or tweet, are pointing in that direction too.

Most entertaining person in Esports even over MC. keep doing what your doing and never lose your french swag Stephano!

Stephano still remains my favorite player in all of SC2 and will continue to occupy that spot until he retires. To me it seems pretty obvious that he has huge trouble adopting his new role as an EG member(a move I disliked a lot but I'm not gonna play the 'told-ya' game, it's just not a team I personally like) i.e. acting more maturely, not having as much freedom in his schedule as he might want etc. and it shows in his play/his desire to play. I believe he also hinted in an interview(sry don't have the source right now) that he felt isolated in the EG lair, so he *might* not get along too well with the others there. Spoiler alert: this is all pure speculation on my part.
Also, the whole reddit drama might have shown him for the first time that there truly are a lot of Stephanohaters out there within the SC2 community, so that could have caused a mild shock *shrugs* I like to think that Steph sees himself as a very likeable person/SC2persona so yeah....might have caught him offguard.
anyhow.....Stephano hwaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiting!
+ Show Spoiler +Scarlett's a close second though, gotta love the Queen

Stephano play soon against theStc at Dreamhack.
|
Stephano playing on the stream "Zoia"!
|
Frear 2-0 Stephano.
this group is sick.
|
Stephano played really bad.
|
So, Stephano is 1-1 right now (Won against TheStC and lost to Fraer).
He'll probably lose against TaeJa and win against Elfi now. He'll then be 2-2 in his group.. Probably not enough to get in the next stage.. He'll have to absolutely win against the last player (TBD)
|
Might be a good thing to lose in group stage and not being overconfident for the rest of the tournament.
|
cursed i was not really woried about him in the EG entreprise, but now i start to understand that it was the worst thing that happend to stephano since he is playing at SC2
|
Is it just me or has his ZvP been looking not as good as before lately?

Can you provide a brief description of the games?

The most important thing is to practise as little as possible and be uber-vocal about it....
