Frear 2-0 Stephano. Can you provide a brief description of the games?
Sorry, i only catch the end of the second game. carrier / mothership -> stephano GG out. Stephano play "good" against theSTC, i was not expecting a 2-0 from a protoss.

stephano Tweet : Lost against FRAER 2-0. Quite surprising!

So I think as long as he beats Elfi, he has a good chance of making it.

this group is sick. Can you provide a brief description of the games?
I watched a bit of the two games:
game one on Ohana:
+ Show Spoiler + Fraer opens one gate cyber into expand. Stephano does his standard p15/h16 and takes a gas quickly after scouting Fraer. The protoss goes for additional gateways (kinda adelscott-ish) meanwhile Stephano takes a 3rd and makes a lot of roachs/lings (still on T1) in order to prevent Fraer to push out. They fought a bit in front of Fraer's base but nobody suffered heavy losses but his drone count was kinda low. If I recall correctly, Fraer went robo and made a couple of immortals (+ an warp-prism) meanwhile Stephano was still on roach/ling.
Fraer pushed on Stephano's 3rd while trying to drop Stephano on his main base. Stephano sent some units to answer this drop but Fraer took this opportunity to forcefield the ramp between the b2 and b3 and allowed himself to kill the rest of the army and the b3 with decent forcefields. Actually, Stephano never really managed to surround Fraer's army because he had a lot of sentries and didn't miss his ff's. Plus, Steph's economy wasn't really great all game along (but that's understandable considering Fraer's aggressiveness).
game two on Cloud: + Show Spoiler + Fraer starts by building a nexus/forge, Stephano does his p15/h15 into 3hatchs and 2gases at ~6:00. Fraer built a robo and I think 6-7gates. 3 immortals later he was ready to push out but Stephano already built quite an army and was waiting in front of Fraer's base, at the Xel Naga. Seeing that Stephano already had an army ready to counterattack, he built 3 or 4 canons and a sentry to defend his natural expansion and was on his way to kill Stephano's 3rd. But Stephano was no fool, even tho his counter attack didn't work at all (he killed only a pylon, couldn't do much more) he made 3 spines at the top of his 3rd ramp with a lot of roachs.
Fraer being clever didn't commit and didn't attack that base. He just pulled back and then Stephano tried to surround him from multiple angles. Unfortunately, it didn't really worked out well since Fraer's forcefields were good enough to catch a coupe of roachs everytime Stephano tried to do something. In the meantime, the protoss took a 3rd base and it went into a macro game except that Stephano was on 200 (or almost) supply roachs which is really not efficient at that point of the game.
Unfortunately I couldn't watch all of the second half of the game but from I remember that Fraer did a push with gateways units/Colo and Immos while (or after) taking a 4rd and kinda destroyed Stephano's army (mostly useless roachs). From that point on, it was kinda over, even tho I believe Stephano stayed in the game, Fraer took a 5th made a mothership and carriers.
Hopefully it's understandable.
It sounds like Stephano was a bit helpless from what I wrote but it wasn't really the case, at least for game one on Ohana, he made some mistakes about droning/not droning I believe, but then again it's not that easy to figure out when to drone.
Since he won his first bo3 I think he should be able to finish 1st of his group if he manages to win Taeja and the rest of his group, let's hope so~
btw he is going to play elfi soon on: http://www.twitch.tv/glhf tune in !

That early attack on daybreak was... so terrible.
|
1-1 against Elfi, he doesnt look as strong as usual.
let's hope for the best.
|
Looked like he was just playing around that game... wasn't even trying to win.
|
According to his tweeter account he is tired of all his trips around the world. He has been in Korea, France, Texas, China, France, and Sweden this month! I don't know how you can perform like that...
|
i just came back, an upset against fraer but while watching him playing against elfi, it's not his standard for sure, we can feel his fatigue
|
Elfi doing a turtle to max army mother ship attack with 2 archons... lol wtf?
|
stephano take some strange fight, i'm actually worried.
i'll not be surprised if he doesnt stay long in this tournament.
|
Seems EG is sending him to too many tournaments
|
At least I won't have to spend my entire week end watching the whole tournament again.
|
Elfi manage to loose.
resilience by stephano.
