He does rage from time to time on his stream chat, but you can see on the cam he is not yelling and jumping left and right. It's not really rage, you have to remember he is quite blunt in his opinions and is not afraid to say what he thinks. He thinks the guy made a stupid move and has no chance to win a competitive tournament, so he says so. Nothing more, nothing less.

And yeah, he should scout a bit more, probably overconfident on the ladder

he does "rage" (a lot more recently because other players are more and more playing not straight games), but because when he ladders he wants to play long macro game meaningful games and some player he meet just focus on beating him because he's famous, and usually do so by playing really unconventional (cheesy) games
as said earlier, his rage is internal, it's more of being fed up by noobs cheesing when he wants to train his macro than raging because he loses

Thing is, you think MC is going to play straight-up macro games against him? MC, who became famous for his two-base timings and is a master of screwing with Zerg timings?

He's not going to be anonymous in tournaments. Stephano's style is understood by every pro Protoss in the scene. They're going to screw with him the same way his ladder opponents are starting to do.

as said, he doesn't play ladder to practice against unconventional builds, just to keep his macro in shape

he can practice against MC's timings another way
playing against opponents that doesn't have quite your macro by far and goes builds that will never happen in tournaments doesn't bring him anything

well, stimmed marines are not only speed 3.375 but also bigger and ranged, what makes them easier to split.

I think he needs to experiment with other styles. Three hatch roach is a great build, but it's not the only build that works. Dimaga's ling baneling style. Ret's fast brood lord style. They all work and have their pros and cons.

He's using mutas now, which I think is a great step.

Indeed I was. Was amasing to see how fast he split all those roaches and hydras vs a million speed banes

As long as he doesn't rage too hard, I'm kinda glad that Toss are starting to test his timings.
What I'm not as happy is that I can't watch his stream, or Day9's euro week, cause of my school's fucking internet blocks.
Also, while the Red Bull tournament is damn cool, I think its terrible for the scene that its an invitational, for such a huge prize pool. I hope at some point we move on from that format, and Red Bull could cut a small bit off of the prize pool or something to run some online regional qualies.

While I would have a meal with Stephano if the situation arose, I did not have one with him at IPL4, so not sure where you are getting your information.

If he wants to ever beat MC, he needs to learn how to safely get to really fast Hive tech, bypassing mass Roaches or Mutas. MC is so solid against either of those, but lost to Violet and DRG when they switched up styles.

Of course, that might not be enough. Chances are, by the time of MLG Arena, MC hadn't practiced PvZ in a while, seeing as there are exactly 0 Zergs left in GSL Code S...

About the rage thing, Stephano is kind of pissed when his opponents play do a type of play that simply can't be done in tournaments, and that is :

The 3 pylon block down the ramp between the main and the natural in ZvP
The 2 bunker block down the ramp in ZvT.

Those 2 strats can't be done in tournaments cause every tournaments maps have a neutral supply depot down the ramp. The thing is that there is no point practicing against those strats since they simply can't be done in tournaments. And in the last 2 days, Stephano faced this like 5 times (and lost nearly all those times), that's why he was pretty pissed to waste practice time with this bullshit.

He's pissed because he's still waiting for being sent into GM, so he just faces Masters opponents that just try to 1/2 base allin him as soon as they spot his name on the loading screen.
