About that game 3 though; - First I thought it was quite strange to go into phoenix after the 8-pool defend, it feels rather slow to put on any huge pressure. What do you have with like 4-5 phoenix? Maybe 10-15 lifts in the end? Ret will just make drones, queens and spores, and you can't kill off any bases. He didn't take a quick 3rd either I think? - Secondly, actually I think Ret was under a lot of stress in the end, he had to consider many factors - Obviously buildings, which he only had 11 drones with his army, if he were to make hatchery/spores, the push into the main would be a lot slower (with the pressure of the army from the back). - Grubby was expanding all over the place and I think he knew it would take him a very long time to kill all the buildings anyway - Keeping his infestors away from feedback - Only 10 corruptors or so which can be vortex'd - Keeping his 4 last overseers from being sniped That besides the actual engagement with pressure of being flanked by the army. It would be really interesting how it would turn out though the battle, but I think Grubby had many quick game-ending moves, while Ret had only one really really slow one. | ||

He would have lost that final engagement. Ret had like 18 Corruptors, 8 INfestors or so? and 20+ Broodlords... Grubby had only 4!! Carriers, a looooooooot of zealots and only a couple of stalkers and colossy (colossy suck vs broodlord infestor - so they just ate up supply too) Stalkers die instantly when u jump under broodlord/infestor, especially with THAT many broods. I seen a comment yesterday made about grubby making a couple crucial mistakes in that game and i totally agree on that one. Corruptors eat through carriers if you only have that small number of it. Combined with infestors you get melted. There was no way Grubby would win that final engagement. NO WAY. Even a vortex would have helped because Ret could have just ran ALL units into it and be safe. Grubby had 0 Archons! Grubby could have been on the upper hand and 100 % safe to win with that surprise carriers but he made a toooon of zealots which ate up supply and prevented grubby from using all 4 stargates he had to make more carriers. after sniping Ret's bases he should have run the zealots in rets army to free up supply for carriers but he didnt do that and won (more or less) with a bit of luck in the end. He always mentioned that PvZ isn't his greatest matchup and u can see why... he has interesting games but for him to win in PvZ he has to greatly outplay the Zerg. Still i really like that he won because i think he deserves a spot in china... but again, u can see his flaws in the games vs Nerchio now too. I know this is a Fanclub and i know in fanclub the cheered guy is god, but i cheer for grubby too, but that doesnt mean i dont see his flaws. Somebody else said grubbys PvZ is pretty damn good and nearly perect. No thats exactly not the case. I'm a Grubby fan too but that doesnt mean i keep saying he is the best PvZ player :-) still the most entertaining thing about him is that he is so often on the verge of dead and somehow manages to come back :D that game 2 vs. Nerchio or Game 3 vs. Ret for example :D :D he gives me a heart attack always xD and thats what i love most about watching his games (even though his PvZ is far from being perfect) :-) he never gives up and tries to fight back!
