IdrA needs to learn more all-in builds for protoss.

He can macrozerg against players like White-Ra, Socke, etc.

But if he keeps running into MC or other protoss who know how to use the miraculus "blink" (huk, chinese protoss like lovett/xaiot, Alicia, etc) then he will need some cheeses beyond roach/ling.

MC for one showed he has bad mini-map awareness. In recent events -
1. He let Ret Nydus next to a pylon in NASL, in vision on minimap
2. He let Losira Nydus beside his mineral line in MLG, also in vision
3. He let Tarson fly medivacs around his bases when they were in vision
4. He lets zergs hit bane bombs on his probes before pulling them.

These have cost MC games and series.

The only zergs doing well against protoss are losira and nestea, and Losira ends games before protoss can hit 3 bases almost always.

I for some reason cannot remember what NesTea does against protoss, but I suspect other forms of heavy pressure.

Omg, thats true. Also on crevasse vs huk he let his probe die when on the tower. This could be MC's greatest weakness. Spread it to korea.

You are behind if you don't do anything. It's like playing ZvT and the terran doesn't drop a single time the entire game or even move out of their base. Most of the time they get contained to 2-3 base and get owned by a 5-6 base zerg going infestor/broodlord

I don't see what can be done against a 3/3 blink stalker and colossus late game protoss army capable of instant reinforcements. Losira and NesTea have not really shown how to either.

Until someone figures it out and idra and other zergs can copy the style, playing the "try to find a weak point" style might be the best option.

If you send in an overlord full of +2 banes against a protoss mineral line, it might not work, but if it does even 30% of the time, it is worth it. Very few protoss react very fast. Naniwa is extremely good at this. He almost always pull probes instantly and builds a cannon, but other protoss? Probably not fast enough.

Losira beat MC at MLG with this. He predicted MC would do this forge FE into starport build that he used on idra 3-4 times, and decided to try a pure hydra all-in with a nydus. His first nydus was outside the wall-ed in protoss base so MC could not kill it before it spawned. Mc had no colossus, so it was like 10 gateway units and some phoenix vs 10-15 hydra and Losira fully destroyed the front of MC's wall. At this point he could flood lings in, but he actually nydused againt behind MC's mineral line, and sent some hydra back there to kill probes.

How MC had lost a forge/gateway/lots of probes, and eventually lost his army slowly.

Losira would have lost that game if MC went forge FE into robo colossus. I don't know if losira was able to scout in time to change his build, but if he did not, he took an educated guess on what build MC would do and it paid off for an almost free win.

You know that every caster in the homestory cup and especially Huk said, that MC has exellent map awarness. So I wouldn't count on something like that

But it's been his downfall multiple times. The only thing I can assume is that his time away from Korea has made him lazy.

Not all players are perfect so yes starcraft is a game of risk/reward so it doesn't mean it is not a viable situation. It is an small investment to pay for some huge reward. Baneling drop to baneling line should only be done in 3 situation:

1. very late game when zerg is only 4-5 bases when that amount of minerals/gas don't matter as much
2. when you are going bling/ling/infestor already since you probably got drop already
3. you need to do econ damage due to falling behind early in game

Yes, it is not a strategy where you want to go for straight away every game, but it is definitely an extremely powerful strat. Just think if you fail one time, they know you have drop/baneling . You can literally move an empty overlord to their mineral line and they still have to pull all their workers.
