In game 2 Cruncher was the fool who thought he can sit in his base, not Idra. Cruncher tried some airbuild, but only ended up massively behind in economy, while not doing any dmg whatsoever, allowing idra to just do what he originally was planning to do from an excellent dominant position.
Game 3 Idra saw the incoming army of Cruncher as it was coming across the map. I think Idra would have been completely fine against it, his mistake (in my opinion) was that he did not create any concave with his roaches making it possible for Cruncher to create that forcefield circle and kill all of those roaches before Idras reinforcements came.
May all of the FF whiners read your suggestion about making a concave before the attack comes.
Also, as my first time to this page, I love the 2014 picture of Idra. I love watching the guy play win or lose, heh.
I'm hoping that next time Idra crushes Cruncher in a tourney he doesn't give a "" simply because it would show Cruncher that Idra doesn't really think anything of beating him.

Neural Parasite IS a spell that can drain energy.
Do you have any idea how hard that is to actually pull off in the game? If the terran has ghosts, then he has them to EMP your Infestors. Neural Parasite range is pathetic. You will never get in range of a Ghost and if you do, you'll have to act quick before your Infestor gets sniped off by tanks. This all sounds great in theory, but in the game, it is next to impossible to pull off correctly.
Either way, the EMP type spell would mostly be used to get rid of Sentry energy. That is really the one thing that makes ZvP difficult for any Zerg. Chances are, a Protoss won't get High Templars so you won't be able to Feedback the Sentrys even if you could do the whole Neural Parasite thing perfectly.

You cant show up years later and condemn rekrul or tl admins when you have absolutely no idea of the context. IdrA was, as rekrul's post makes clear, embarassing himself and pissing a lot of people off with his post-broodsport comments. Rekrul's post was expressing what a lot of us wanted to say but couldn't with as much insight into idrA's pathetic mentality.

Yea obviously it's not nearly as practical as EMP or Feedback. Though it does have range nine, so I don't know what you mean by getting in range. The problem IMO is more like the spell actually takes a second to two to take effect, unlike feedback and EMP which are instant and near-instant.
I'm just saying zerg does have such an ability. I didn't mean that it compares very well with the other races.
It does work well with Yamato and 250mm... but no one ever gets these abilities
Reading that "Foreigners Still Suck" article should actually give hope to Idra fans. Just remember that Idra has been in much lower point in his career and he's always persevered and gotten better. "Foreigners Still Suck" was written before the period where Idra just went on a tear and became the undisputed best foreigner for a very long time.

Hello everyone, I have been following the community for years now, but only this thread made me finally create a new account and add my piece to the discussion. Unlike a vast majority of the people (or at least judging from their posts) I have never played SC II at a competitive level, I do not have NEARLY as much skill/game awareness and practice as Idra et al. does. I will therefore be short of any accusations, attacks and expressions of imature approach to dealing with others. My message is easy and simple. Please, dont read if you indeed do enjoy seeing people insulting themselves in a false hope to get some internet attention. Thanks.
I was disappointed to see Idra fall to Cruncher - it is rooted in the fact that I cheer for Idra in his matches even thou I sometimes do not agree with his attitude. I am a zerg and I know that very often I loose my games (masters league for all of those who will attack me for not stating this, in my opinon irrelevant, fact) simply because my choice of race was not adequate - playing zerg is a challenging matter and in certain scenarios, there is almost no way of winning if you do fall behind due to (in my, NON-professional view) over complex mechanics, as compared to other races. However, as most Zergs here, I picked zerg voluntarily and In moments of "imbalance" (apologies for using this, overused and commonly misinterpreted world) I always go back to one simple belief - cool kids play Zerg no matter how much you sometimes want to throw your PC out of the window. This being said, I believe that Idra has the same mindset - being an extremely (EXTREMELY) potent player, he would in my personal view have no problem switching races and kicking butts at a professional level in a matter of weeks. However, for me, Protoss Idra with 99% W/L ratio would cease to be "the guy". We follow Idra NOT because he plays a consistent, extremely solid play, but because we (and I mean me and many other, so to say, "true at heart" zergs) like the resilience he is putting into the one thing he loves to do and does to live. I respect the way he is passionate about the game. I am sick and tired of reading degrading posts about sameone who, at least to me, was a provider of many hours of extreme fun and thrilling moments - yes, call me nerd, I was cheering for Idra way more than for the national hockey team of my country. He represents something that is more than the game he plays - and I am not saying this because I have a picture of Fields on my wall and candles beneath it (which I , really, really, dont), I say this because with all his weaknesses (let more skilled people than me debate about these) he is, quite simply put, a guy with some sort of "balls".
Please, stop the circle of hatred and false accusations for the sake of Idra, Cruncher, Zerg, Protoss and the whole community. Some people are trying to send a message that e-sports is a highly developed community worth investment, but what one sees is a bunch of kids barking at each another.

I second m0rg, Idra is very enjoyable to watch, the second game against Cruncher is probably one of my all-time favourite matches. You could feel Idra wanting to kill Cruncher so very badly.
