Ehhh I don't agree. I don't like it when my favorite player is on the receiving end but it IS part of what gives the game some personality.
Yeah but they are also professionnal players, they can't trash on each other how much they want outside the game, but when you play, you just play.
Nah, that has nothing to do with it. Players in pretty much every professional sport trash talk.
I know, but it is in theory forbidden. Just the umpires are too laxists about it. (not in basketball and rugby as far as i know, because they don't hesitate to warn the players). But for example in Tennis or in football (soccer) they aren't faulted enough for that
Okay, but in this case on what grounds do you make the argument that players shouldn't be trash talking because they are professional players? I can understand this position as a personal preference but being professional has nothing to do with it.

You truly have no idea at all about what goes on, on the field in EVERY sport...... you think Idra is rude bc he says 'shut up"? in every sport ranging from Soccer to basketball, the insults that go out are akin to listening to 11 year olds playing Halo on xbox live.... the ranging from "mom sexual escapades", to the "removal of your genitals", its everything you can imagine and more.
youtube some videos of the Manchester United that have audio available on the field, or any american football with similar audio.
just because the starcraft community is incredibly "pg rated", its easy to forget that the rest of the world isnt.
the definition of 'professional" is getting paid to do something as your career, not being sportsman-like. i suggest you open your eyes and start living in reality.

For the record, United's footballers are hardly known for swearing. Keano had a few nice outburts and the tabloids love writing about Rooney but it's hardly been more than a few "fuck this" and "fuck that" episodes.
This is one of the most famous incidents in football though:
Zidane is one of the greatest players ever, this was the final game for the World Cup, the score was 1:1, 10 minutes before the end, he was the captain of his team, and it was known that this was going to be Zidane's last game before he retired. The red card more or less cost France the title. One can only guess what it was that made him do this.

Well FIRST OF ALL i suggest you quit being so aggressive ? T.T
I think it's a shame when fucking sportsman paid what-millions dollars/year can't control their nerves (and the example brought by xtfftc with Zidane is one of the worst. It actually wasn't the only time he did that, he's a complete idiot.)
Actually i practice and practiced competitive sports all my life, and at lower levels (obviously i'm not a pro player at any sport) insults and trash talking are taken way more seriously than at higher level. Just because they have head like watermelons and umpire aren't strict enough, and i can assure you that it's not exactly the same in every sports, there are different mentalities, so i don't see why esport should copy the bad ones
Hopefully, StrifeCro and Axslav win so IdrA can hopefully seal the deal, but TBH I don't think those two are that good at 2v2... EG needs to go ontract ProTech and Power. =)

You realize that low level sports competition dont mean anything and arent the subject of this topic right? we are talking about professionals, not little leaguers.
the amount players get paid has nothing to do with their ability to control themselves either. they get paid alot because they are among the best at what they do, and bc people like us like to watch them.
if we wanted, we could just watch highly intelligent computer programs play starcraft, pay them nothing and watch that. but we dont. like to see PEOPLE play, and part of being a person is showing emotion. good or bad.
anyone else hoping to god that Strifecro and Axlav dont get their contracts renewed?.....
srsly..... it takes a special kind of bad to not only be able to not provide anything for your team, but literally make your team worse off by having you.

I was extending it to sportsmanship in general but whatever. Yeah so because they are famous and entertaining they can allow themselves things that are forbidden ? I don't get your point. They are paid alot to practice their sport and follow the rules (because following the rules is a part of practicing the sport you know) but they can't even do that, and that's not understandable.

User was warned for this post
EG has kept less promising players for longer. I can't say for Ax since i dont protoss but strifecro has improved a lot lately hes definitely showing potential
