Just because male idols have a lot of fangirls doesn't mean the quality of their music has to be any less (though of course sometimes it is). There are quite a few male groups with very worthwhile albums and some good solo works out there too. Also the term kpop doesn't have to be used just for idol music, many times people use the word "kpop" it encompasses all sorts of Korean music, including rock, hip-hop, ballad singers, and anything else you can think of. If you hadn't left us then you would think differently about that. I didn't say the quality of guys in kpop was lower. I implied I'm not a teenage girl and that's what their product is geared towards. Maybe your tastes are similar to teenage girls. That's great for you. You have a lot of guys to listen to. But it's not my thing so leave it at that. Also your histrionics about typical KMDers is rude and you should keep such stereotyping thoughts to yourself. Lastly, people might use the word kpop many times, but that doesn't make it correct. Korean hip hop is its own genre. K-rock is it's own genre. Ballads are their own genre. They do not fall under the umbrella of kpop. Just because some people equate kpop to korean music as a whole doesn't make it true. Kpop is idol music. That's what the POP part represents.

It's pretty standard kpop lyrics, though the beat is a fun take on the nursery rhyme. The MV is damn funny though. I really want to see the perf/dance version for this, the dance parts that we did see were a lot of fun. Better than We Don't Stop, not as good as Vista. Is this a full album or just another single?

It's more the easy of saying K-pop as in Korean music than having to refer to each little sub-genre with a K in front of it.

For instance, people don't call german rap, G-Rap. That's fucking dumb. It's more the easy of saying K-pop as in Korean music than having to refer to each little sub-genre with a K in front of it. It's relevant if it has a different sound. Like how J-rock makes sense because it sounds distinctly japanese, and not just because of the language they're singing in. Kpop is the same way. I might extend it to K-rock but I haven't heard much else beyond that.

it's accurate barring the whole 'male idol music only appeals to teenage girls' kpop = korean pop. you could have an unknown korean artist making pop and it could be called kpop. and pop is a pretty general term; people just arbitrarily label popular songs as 'pop' when it really isn't. But I guess k-rap is rap is rap is rap.

I might extend it to K-rock but I haven't heard much else beyond that. The korean hip hop scene is pretty distinct as well, and really doesn't fall under the Kpop tent, even if they have random girls in every group doing a "rap verse." Just like in Latin America what started as reggae and hip hop has spun out into a number of different genres. It might be easier to call it k-pop but it doesn't make it correct. If you were going to simply lump everything as Kpop, you might as well just call it Korean music, but obviously that's not a good idea because the music of an entire nation is quite diverse. There's a world of difference between a ballad singer and a kpop solo artist. IMO Son Ga-In and Hyuna and IU etc fall squarely under the kpop tent. Lee Soo Young, hell no. Ailee is borderline. I just think it's nonsensical to try to claim kpop encompasses all these genres. Yes, kpop incorporates elements from each of these other genres, but it doesn't encompass them.
