don't talk about stuff you don't understand. korean courts determined fairly recently that the maximum length of a contract can be 7 years. DBSK signed their 13 year contract before that decision was met. they are simply fighting for their rights.
I never understood that part, however I still believe DBSK is stupid, at least the 3 members who conceive SM to be lying. Sure its fine to reduce the contracting from 13 to 7 I don't give a crap about that, but the 3 members that want more money are idiots.
you don't think it's strange that SM never told the DBSK members how much money they actually made off of them, and what the ratio between DBSK:SM were? sure they might all get paid 350k/year which is pretty great money, but when the companies are making millions off of them in a single year it's kind of ridiculous. they aren't your average run of the mill celebrity, they are the biggest singing group in probably all of asia and should be compensated as such.
Do they really make 350k each? Jesus, they're the biggest singing group in asia, selling out 50000+ seats in the tokyo dome and they only bring in that much? Who are the three members who are suing?
I wonder how much each member of SNSD makes and if they're all paid the same amount (probably not).
No, they make make much more than 350k/year, more like $2-3 million. But I guess it's kind of low for how big they are all over Asia and how much work they put into it, barely sleeping and promoting so much.
SM said in a recent article they split profits 6:4 (6 SM : 4 DBSK) (slightly different for overseas activities) but no one's really sure if SM is telling the truth. Hope everything ends well...
where did you get the $2-3 million figure? i could be mistaken but i believe SM released a statement saying that DBSK had thus far been paid something like 11 billion won, which is around 10 million USD, but that was since their debut in 2004 until now in 2009. also, it wasn't each person that got 10 million but rather the group got 10 million so split into five...

Oh, I might be wrong then. I thought it was 10 million per year that they earned, not total. I didn't know it was that much since their debut. I would have thought that number would have been much higher. I assume we read the same statement but you probably read it in Korean as opposed to my translated English, in which yours is probably more accurate. My mistake.

You guys are talking as if Korean Celebs get paid just as much as other celebs around the world and Korean Agencies wipe their ass with Benjamens but even agencies in Korea earn very little money.

The Korean Baseball players get the 2nd highest sports salary in Korea and there are many many Baseball fans in Korea However, the average Korean Baseball Players get 1/17th of what the Average Japanese Baseball Players get
And compared to famous famous famous Japanese comedians, even someone as famous as Yoo Jae Suk can't earn that much
Anyone know estimatedly how much DBSK (or other SM artists) need to pay back for their pre-debut years (maybe how much per year)? Since they payed for everything then, has DBSK already payed that off already?

Tiffany is overrated. The girl's a total cam whore. Ever seen that Tell Me performance? Who the hell winks 10+ times in a span of less than 10 seconds?
Also, go butcher performances elsewhere please. Poor dancing skills and overrated live singing skills to go along with an obnoxiously loud personality.

Does anyone watch the show "SNSD's Hello baby"? The show's pretty stupid (it's about SNSD being "moms" for this baby) but the only reason i watched it is because of snsd. I have to say taeyeon looks so much better in videos than in pictures.
