I watched the first three series and liked them a lot. My friend seemed to like Eureka 7. I may need to catch that. Neither of us have seen Darker Than Black, so I can't judge that. Bones isn't a bad studio. They had put out some great stuff.

Or I'm not sure, there's a lot of songs on the soundtrack with guitar pieces. Personally I think the harmonica (I'm not sure, I'm bad with instruments) song is the most depressing one (Kyou wa Yuuhi Yarou). Actually the only anime I wouldn't recommend from Bones is stuff I haven't seen yet. Not sure how good The Skull Man is or Kurau Phantom Memory for example.

Like RahXephon was their miniforay into the pyschological style, and then you have just rather melancholy animes like Wolf's Rain. Then you have satire like Ouran High School Host Club. Then you have just pure Shounen FMA. Unlike other animation studios, I can't really define them because it feels like they just do every single genre under the planet.

Bones seems to be the studio people go to with an incomplete piece of manga/original work and tell them to hack up something as best as they can :p

Some may say Canaan but I haven't found Canaan all that good - sort of like Black Lagoon, you just wait till they finish talking and start shooting. Agree 100% Bakemonogatari is awesome. The animation is amazing and the dialogue is pretty awesome as well. One of the only anime Im interested from the new summer bunch.

Canaan is looking really interesting so far, up to ep 3. and Toyko Magnitude is also looking pretty good, for the first episode. not sure what i think about umineko, im not sure if i like it or not, it seems to be alright, in terms of story, but the animation and characters just frustrate me. Bakemon, well, what can i say, its pretty much SZS and maria+holic with an awesome story. its got such a great art style, but sometimes its a little hard to follow whats going on. but going by what ive seen so far, it looks really great.

You really have to make sure you get good subs for Bakemonogatari. Ive seen some pretty bad subs on some streaming sites. You are better off just downloading gg subs instead of looking for it on streaming sites. I saw episode 3 on a streaming site, and then rewatched the gg subs and it was like watching a completely different episode... The subs were COMPLETELY DIFFERENT on the streaming site.
