If I had to compare them, I would say Zestiria's cast overall slightly edges out Berseria's, Berseria's story is better, the exploratory/adventury feel in Zestiria is a bit more appealing than the grimdark in parts Berseria, and gameplay they are kind of equal (I don't like the Soul system in Berseria, and I like the GATTAI system in Zestiria, but the camera in Zestiria is much worse). | ||

Never watched the show, but I did read a good chunk of the manga. I guess it's okay. None of the characters are particularly interesting, because they really just exist to fill their particular niche. This also means that the character arcs ended up being pretty meh in general. In particular, anything that dealt with the obligatory genius detective wasn't very good. Mystery-wise, I think it was fine. IIRC, they actually give you a good amount of information about the case, enough to make the solution not seem like a total asspull. Things started to get a little samey 60+ chapters in (at which point I dropped it), but I don't know how far the anime gets. The obvious comparison would be Detective Conan. | ||

Now hopefully somebody bothers to sub the prequel movie that was released recently. Also thanks Sent for reminding me about the ms igloo ova's, completely forgot about them. Yeah, Zegapain was pretty good indeed. Kind of underrated show. The only real gripes I had were the fights (they were all copy&pasted and they were boring even the first time around) and the ending, which could have been executed better imho. Like, they could have finished the fight in one episode or even less than that. All in all Toguro was a decent villain though. Better than the next one for sure... Dark Tournament was pretty ok as an arc. I think the ending might surprise you. I kind of liked it, even though it felt cut short. Tell me how you liked it once you are done. I think it was about MC being son of one of the 3 demon lords(which was about to die cause he refused to eat humans out of his love for MC's mother ? i vaguely remember) or something and then them having some tournament again but with the demons. | ||

She was more like an NPC who joins you sometimes at the beginning. | ||
