LWA is kinda hit or miss. The show's at its best when the plot gives the characters an excuse to explore the world and do interesting things, much like Kekkai Sensen. When the story's boring (like Lotte's ep), there's not much to salvage it. Considering that this is a two cour show, I'd say they're going to have an overarching plot at some point. I really hope they can pull it off.
Seiren sucks even in comparison to other omnibus romance shows. A lot of the MCs in these shows aren't very good, but this MC is particularly awful.
Granblue Fantasy was just bad. Really bad.
Youjo Senki is presented more as a comedy than anything else. I guess that's fine, but it's kinda weird.
Rewrite is a garbage fire. I knew it'd be bad, but it's not even an entertaining trainwreck. At least they finally played CANOE.
Rakugo is top notch. I liked the direction and how they tied rakugo into the plot in s1, and they've continued to deliver in s2. Yotaro isn't nearly as interesting or compelling a character as Bon, but he has his own charm. His stupidity and earnestness basically make him a more well written shounen MC. Despite all of Yotaro's added screentime though, the story clearly still revolves around Bon, and I'm totally okay with that.

Yea I just finished volume 7 of the main series. Soon volume 2 of the Sword Oratoria will come out.
Tho the spinoff series is getting an anime that starts in April and if you liked Ais and Loki Familia you will like the spinoff.

I take it all back. This Terra route OP is hilarious.
+ Show Spoiler +Loli Kotori and edgy Kotarou too strong.
Honestly, this might be the only route that escapes mostly unscathed. Common route was a disaster because they tried to omnibus in one cour and totally missed the point of common route. Moon was doomed to fail because it relies on you actually caring about the routes that were botched in s1. Terra though? Terra's actually workable as a (somewhat cheesy) standalone show. Obviously, it'd be better if it was actually, y'know, well integrated, but this might actually bring the show up a notch from "total travesty" to "actually watchable".
At the very least, this episode was entertaining.

The character somehow has less personality, is more bland and evokes less empathy than a blank-slate, self-insert protagonist. It's quite a feat, really.

Playing as a bunch anti-heroes is pretty fun.
No idea how long this game is. If the game turns out to be 80~ hours or something, I'm probably like a 3rd of the way through so far. I'm with Sent. Berseria's story is refreshing when compared to the other from the serie. We're about 80 hours into the game, nearing the end. Although the story feels slightly weaker toward the end, it still has a bunch of twists and still holds out pretty strongly. It is probably my favourite Tales game after Vesperia (note that Vesperia is the first tales game I've played, so I cannot speak of the older ones) I haven't played any Tales games. Almost got Zestiria a few months ago, but then I got something else (can't remember what). I know these games are all standalone, but I heard the new one ties into Zestiria a bit. Does it matter if I start with the new game or will I be missing out on too many connections from Zestiria?

If you play Berseria without Zestiria, you would miss out on "Hey, I know this place!" or "I know this character!" or "Huh, this character must be related to that other one".

The lateste Tales of Zestiria the X episode was pretty meh. Rose has way too much screentime right now without much progression.

Exactly! Although Zestiria is weaker than Berseria, IMO, it still has a likeable cast. Being able to further develop the same universe is pleasant!
Playing both will probably give you the complete experience.
If you have to only pick one, I'd probably go with Berseria.

Nanbaka took a serious turn this season (didn't really break from last to this one). Still keeps the comedy but it's Gintama level with how serious it is. Story is kind of still unclear but it's worth the watch.

I found the main protagonists of Zesteria to be unsufferable, fun game and great music though. Might buy Berseria if its on sale.

Bleh, Nanbaka s1 was some of the most boring shit, that didn't know what it wanted to be, I have ever watched in my life... Mind you, it had some qualities but they were few and far between.

That's because they are your typical Good peopel do Good things to save the world from evil.
Berseria seems to be darker as in your MC is sort of an anti-hero. She hesitates at times, but most of the times, she follows the philosophy that the end justifies the means.

The character development is really top notch, should give it a try again. I'm sure you'd like this new season over the last.

The main protag seems cool and I like the overall darker vibe of the game.

So Velvet Crowe is the mc in Tales of Berseria? Might have to check it out then. She was pretty good in her small anime appearance.

It would be great if they would make an anime for Tales of Berseria.
And yes, she is the MC!
The Japanese VA sounded more badass than the English one. The English does a fair job though!

Finished Zegapain and it was pretty legit. The plot developed smoothly and was very enjoyable, there were enough minor twists to keep you engaged and each episode felt like it had purpose. While the characters weren't extraordinary by themselves they had good chemistry with eachother and were all likeable. The main selling point was definitly the world however, Zegapain had one of the more interesting worlds i've seen and explored it really well. + Show Spoiler +A bit too well infact because by the time the final assault had started I felt the show ran out of material to talk about and the ending was just there to give closure and tie up all the loose ends. I don't dislike it but it was pretty standard and I was perfectly satisfied by that point. Luckily the ending didn't ruin anything before it and concluded the character arcs nicely so I'll take it. The production values were subpar though. The animation was average for the most part and the cgi didn't age so well, not to mention that the character models looked odd even during still shots. Really wish this show was given more love in that department but it's not a dealbreaker, you aren't watching it for the sakuga anyway.
Now hopefully somebody bothers to sub the prequel movie that was released recently.
Also thanks Sent for reminding me about the ms igloo ova's, completely forgot about them.

Made it to the dark tournament arc in Yu Yu Hakusho. Seems ok so far. Only thing I don't like is the overhyping of Toguro! A lot of anime end up hyping characters so it's nothing new here but kinda wish they kept it reasonable: + Show Spoiler +he defeated 5 demons that had huge spiritual powers on his own in the same ring and that was at 40%. Like, how do you even top that when Urameshi had trouble with one opponent who was strong but nowhere as Toguro? Plus, he has limits and only had two months of practice on top. Hope the dark tournament ending doesn't disappoint lol.
