I understand tagalog dub whenever the mood of the scene turns dramatic/serious it's actually so bad that i can't take the scene seriously(sometimes i end up laughing instead) but yeah whenever it comes to comedic scene's it's fine (it's prolly not better than the original japanese dub though but sometimes though scene's become more funnier cause of the voice and selection of words) .

Yeah, it sucks for non-comedic scenes. A lot of serious dubbed stuff (anime/ non-anime) sounds cheesy in Tagalog. Also agree with the last part. In terms of english dubs, it's rare that I like any. I really just prefer subtitles.

When I chose dubs over subs than it's because of:
1. I like the english voices more and/or think the japanese voice don't fit the characters.

Pretty easy. I honestly don't get this religious fanatism when it comes to japanese VA's. It's not religious fanaticism. It's just that the quality is seriously like the difference between night and day in the voice actors themselves. You don't get any raw emotion ever from an english VA on any anime, ever. agree, I find that the dubs don't convey strong emotions well. I think it's related to the language though what you also mentioned is likely true. Funny dub there, thanks for sharing lol.

Last I checked there were alternative means of watching it but I never got around to doing it.
I was interested solely because of Naoki Urasawa's involvement though.

Good stuff, it's in English. I'd also like to use this space for something positive to counter my upcoming negativity. Apparently one guy translated the entire Legend of the Galactic Heroes series, something like 110 episodes and a few movies, and I think he is truly an awesome person. It's sad that we probably lost the opportunity for a full out saber fight. Her fight vs Assassin was nothing then she pulled her sword and stroke him down in one slash. Pretty badass but I wanted to see a real fight and now she is out of mana.
