If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. I think they're trying to show it as a proof of concept that there are alternative means for anime producers to make stuff without the restrictions that traditional production committees put on them (catering to moe, harem shit, etc). I'm kind of skeptical though since it seems doubtful they can keep building this kind of funding hype for every single episode-let alone a season. Didn't Little Witch Academia 2 already show that? Probably, I'm just repeating what I got from their PR shtick anyway.

Should be interesting to see how they rescue him and avoid fighting the dispatchment to the 11th ward. Also, my god how brutal that ghoul was slamming Kaneki all over the place ... I felt disgusted lol.

Isn't that insane blue haired guy Jason? I don't remember everything, but if he is, he'll probably play a huge role in that. I honestly don't like Kaneki very much, but I did feel a bit sorry for him there, lol.

Ahahaha they actually got to aogiri in 10 episodes. This might just be the most rushed and poorly done adaption i have ever seen. All character development out the window for a rushed poorly done adaption that just focused on getting to the action-bits. Atleast the two scenes i wanted to see adapted are coming up soon, that's one thing i can be happy about, then i can finally forget about this abomination.

Have constantly f5'ed the kickstarter the last week or so and yeah I'm very much aware of the fact that it's not the kind of anime I usually like but well, couldn't keep my sanity about how I'd totally spend money on stuff like that if it just wouldn't be possible in the first place. So yeah had some money on it as well. 2 things that are noteworthy imo: First) Everyone who backed the thing via kickstarter (20$ or more) will get access to every UTD anime that gets produced in the future (digital) Backers who pledge at the $20 reward tier and higher will also have digital access to any future Under the Dog animations that we produce. That means if we fund here and only create the 24 min. OVA, if we go on (as we plan to) to make a film or trilogy of films, then the backers who pledged here for $20 or more will also be able to download those films! I am aware of the fact that you get the exact same thing by pirating it without spending money on it ![]() But honestly speaking that's an amazing deal if you ignore the obvious "you can just get it for free!?" for a second. Second) They mentioned that they have got several offeres to do the thing as a normal 26-episode anime and declined those offeres and went to kickstarter first. The way I understand it right now is that they want to get out 3 OVAs to "set the world" as a dooropener to make sure how they envision it can't be tossed away easily. Like, you obviously can't just completly change the thing if there's already 3 OVAs out, you want to continue and people liked those OVAs. So whoever is funding you for the real thing has to live with that. They mentioned an awful lot that they want to make the story itself a trilogy and that's yet to be seen but worst case scenario pretty much is something like 3 OVAs + 23-26 episodes animu afterwards, best case scenario 3 OVAs + 3 movies I guess. There's been an AMA on reddit with the producer as well if you're into that kind of thing click me!

Even if it does feel a bit rushed, I think Black Bullet felt even more rushed than this lol. It is Jason but I wasn't 100% sure and was too lazy to double check lol. hmm 'm ok with Kaneki as a character. I just wish he'll give in to temptation here and there and learn to control his ghoul powers. He could've at least stalled Jason there and escaped had he managed to fully tap into Rize's power but nope. I think he needs to learn better control but not sure how. I do feel it is rushed but at least it still feels coherent to me.

These guys were all in a group hunting rize, fully expecting to fight her at her full powers. At this point Kaneki can barely tap into her powers which says to me that he's not ready to fight those guys yet. Once he can fully tap Rize's power and be able to add his own power on top of that sure, i fully expect him to be unstoppable. But right now he's nowhere near that. but with this pacing it'll probably be next episode

I dunno if he would've won the fight but and I quote "at least stalled Jason there and escaped had he managed to fully tap into Rize's power" I dunno if he'll be unstoppable with her power tbh but I figure he'll at least prevent himself from getting killed and kidnapped or having to rely on others for his safety. haha ya, quite possible seeing as there's only two episodes left. Wish they had another cour :'(
